Yeahhhh. This level was b*llsh*t. Fire pigs FAKING being asleep and waking up just in time to torch your bird? No way to pummel chef pig with enough birds or debris to kill it? I got to this level over and over again, different combos of birds, even tried the recommendation above, and none were successful. I’d have had to use 60 gems for three more cards and I’m not spending gems on levels I can’t defeat without them. That might not seem to make sense, but my thought is that if I can’t beat the level with the normal number of birds without needing gems, then the likelihood that Rovio is going to try to make me pay 60 gems, keep the boss pig alive, and then try to force me to spend another 180  gems or more, is astronomical. No, thank you.

This update is garbage. Rovio knows it’s garbage, put out a PSAa few weeks back saying they are working on it, and then nothing. I pretty much don’t trust any opponent’s score in Star Cup, because the system does what it wants after I appear to win each level, in order to make certain in the finally analysis that the opponent comes out on top. I will never use a Power Up in Star Cup ever again. Waste of time, “money,” and head space.

Hey, Rovio, you owe all your customers who’ve been using the game since the update a TON of Power Ups and coins to make up for your major f*ck up.

No, that happened to me yesterday. It’s to entice you not to quit immediately because you think 50 gems isn’t such s huge number. But then you’re hit with another 100 right away and then 200. All of a sudden, you’re 370 gems down and have only amassed 60 or so in the TOF. You’re screwed because before, you’d have quit right away after the first or second pig popped up. You lose sight of the real cost.

We should be guaranteed a minimum of 200 gems each day. Otherwise, again, not worth it.

The DC is just getting stupid. And I agree with others, that the more impossible that they make killing the Boss Pig, the less fun the game is getting. You get to the boss level, only to realize that you need at least three or four birds to kill him, ensuring that one must spend gems in order to win the challenge for the day (generally, on principle, I refuse to do so). The game stops being challenging and entertaining at that point and instead becomes exploitative. It makes you feel like you’re wasting your time and that it’s time to delete the app. Sad to say good-bye.

Actually, it seems as though Rovio isn’t letting you save the KPC for later anymore? Like, if you close the application right after the DC, the KPC will not populate anymore. Stupid, stupid micromanagers.

I’ve had that happen and reported it to Rovio. They said that it has to do with the timer for the DC and the KPC. Sometimes KPC won’t open if it overlaps with the new day’s start time for the DC. Or something like that. (Like, if you happen to start the DC at 11:59 pm on Sunday–let’s just use that time as an example–and the new DC starts at midnight. Well, if you complete the DC at 12:15 am Monday, you may get the KPC immediate for Sunday’s DC (which you just completed). But if you then try to do the DC at 3 pm Monday, the KPC will not show up, because it thinks you’ve already completed it for Monday. Again, “or something like that.”

Supposedly it will be fixed in the next update. I’m holding my breath like a Scuba Pig for that one.

@kelshe What you saw, I believe, was an in-room treasure chest. The original red gifts look just like the blue-striped friend gifts, except they were red.

@hank Good to know that there’s even one reason to keep playing the levels. I just decided to stop playing them, since they offer you nothing but 10 feathers here and there from the map. Not really worth it. You all need to bring back the in-room red gifts that offer 100 feather rewards. They were fun and offered something worthwhile. The blue friend gifts are not fun and are not worth it either.

Today was my first time ever winning the KPC (no gems spent). The boss was the Foreman, who’s sitting underneath a ramp, protected by a laser pig, and you have to somehow either get a bird to fly over the laser pig into a little opening between the top and bottom ramps, allowing the fan/wind to launch the bird into the pig, or get one of the boulders/buildings above the ramps to fall and do it for you.

Just glad to know that, at least in some cases, it’s possible to win the KPC without “assistance.”

@kelshe That’s interesting. Yesterday, the Daily Challenge never opened up for me, so it was the opposite of what happened to you.

I opened up the app and the DC never popped up. Today it came back again (Gravity Grove) and I won it (yay!) and the KPC (my first time winning!), but it’s frustrating that I missed out on yesterday’s feathers and pearls.

@sambeaver Once you finish the DC, either right before or after you click “next” after receiving the last reward, quit out of the game. Ppen it any time later, when you’re ready to play the King Pig Challenge.

I’m miffed because, since I was locked out of the Arena for a day, I missed collecting my daily star feathers for one of my birds. There should be a minimum amount of feather compensation for that. @hank

@angryplayer I think one trick to combat this, is if you see that you’re about to fill the destruct-o-meter, and you know you’re going to have to use another bird in that room to knock down another structure, to move quickly to do so, so that the destruct-o-meter actually gives you back a bird, rather than fills and vanishes without giving you anything (because you’ve already maxed out at 7 birds). If you fling a bird and have six left, then when the meter fills, you get a bird right back. Of course, this only works if you don’t get a strike initially (which happens sometimes, and the meter fills twice, in which case you get one bird back and lose out on the second) or if you both 1. notice in time that the meter is filling up and 2. notice that you need to fling another bird to clear the room–and get it done!

As far as constructive feedback goes, it would be really helpful if, when Rovio makes such significant changes to game play, that it include instructions and explanations of those changes in the corner of the map page, so people can reference it and figure out what the heck is going on and how to resume play. Thanks!

I did select the crown in the Arena, and Red is wearing it there, but he still does not have it on for the regular levels and map, when he used to before. I’m wondering if that’s the new normal or if there’s an issue. I’d like to know if anyone else has experienced this before I contact Rovio….
