Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancis
Slightly harder DC today, a 4-4-5:
If everything had gone correctly I would’ve beaten this one without spending gems. I pushed the boss and he somehow managed to hit the balloon to the right and release the rocks and fall down after them. Normally you’d drop the rocks onto the boss’ head after he’s landed in the water and he’ll lose most of his health, but nope, they got wasted. So I had to buy extra birds and luckily managed to finish off the boss with them. Got x3 Mighty Eagles from the streak so it was overall worth it, and it gets the DC out of the way too.
KPP was a pain. 1st boss was easy:
2nd boss is this one:
I forgot to screenshot the room’s initial setup but you know it. Shown is one way of beating it with just Stella; it needs to be timed perfectly and it works about 80% of the time. You can also use Silver to boot the boss over the right side after pushing him down into the furthest flower, which again needs perfect timing. I spent most of my attempts trying to beat this one, as if you miss with Stella or Silver then you’re completely screwed as there’s no other exit and the boss has high health.
3rd boss isn’t that bad:
I only made it to this boss a few times as I kept failing on the 2nd boss. If I beat the 2nd boss then I’d have to struggle through round 3 which has scuba pigs in pretty much every room which in most cases were safely positioned underwater to where you needed to waste an extra birds to kill them. Eventually made it to the boss with 4 birds and sent him over the waterfall.
AggieGuy@aggieguySame DC and KPP as well.
The DC took me about 10 tries because I knew I could beat it without gems. Finally managed to get him into a good spot, shot Stella from the water below, and launched the pig up in a bubble. He drifted off to the right and eventually the remaining pig self destructed.
On KPP round 2, make sure you save Chuck. If the pig ends up on the right side hilltop, Chuck can knock of him off.
AggieGuy@aggieguy4-5-6 hell sucks.
Never made it past room 4 in round 3.
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancisI’ll be avoiding the DCs for a few days so that I get the easier ones. I can feel the 4-5-6 being just around the corner and I’m not going to waste my streak progress on a 95% chance that I run out of birds on round 3 of a 4-5-6.
Angry Birds Fan@angrybirdsdudeI HATE TODAY’S DAILY CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!! I AM DELETING THE GAME FROM MY PHONE!!!!!
Den@denToday’s did me in. Was one room away from finishing the streak and getting a legendary chest.
Couldn’t get that boss pig taken out. He fell into a loop and I couldn’t get enough damage on him, even after spending gems to get an extra 3 cards twice.
Birdbrained@birdbrainedyeah i saw that one and just gave up after my birds ran out. Had a heck of a time doing that one in the regular maps.
AggieGuy@aggieguyThat one is a pure luck boss, never, ever spend gems on it.
If a bird gets in the loop, it will vanish within a second or two. You have to get a lot of the boulders into it to beat the pig to death. Took me about 10 tries and I finally got lucky.
Mzimoxs@mzimoxsIf you care about your winning streak, skip today’s DC.
It’s not impossible: While Chef Pig is resting below the purple portal, wait until the upper fireman pig is asleep, (or have it somehow killed before, the lower fireman pig should not be able to hit you) fling Silver through the blue portal and send her with her looping through the purple portal as late as possible. This can send Chef Pig to the left and out of the screen. Of course this requires enough birds and massive luck.
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancisUgh, I wish I had checked this thread before trying, as I’ve just lost my streak progress and wasted 60 gems on extra birds trying to beat this boss, only for this to happen:
F**k these blocked exit boss rooms and the idiot(s) who designed them and put them in the game. I got in with 5 birds (the DC was a 2-3-4 for me as I had been skipping for 2 days) and then +3 from the extra birds and still couldn’t kill him. Ridiculous.garethw@garethwNo streak to lose – it’s virtually impossible this one.
2 DCs completed in the past 10 days – this really must be the only game you do worse the longer you play it.
Doom Baby@doombabyI’m telling you, stop wasting your time on these. There’s nothing challenging nor fun about pigs scattered across the room with a bunch of obstacles in the way, it’s simply Rovio being pricks. All these boards do is raise your stress levels.
It would be one thing if the rewards were worth it – but what exactly are 3,000 feathers supposed to do when a flock takes 400,000 to upgrade? That’s over 3 months worth of work. Or even worse, 300BP when it takes 80,000-175,000 to upgrade? That’s 8-19 months of work!
Get your gems and get out because Rovio isn’t listening to you and they don’t care – and this is precisely why they will never have the staying power of Mario or Mickey Mouse like they so desperately wish they had.
AngryBroaf@shoemacherYeahhhh. This level was b*llsh*t. Fire pigs FAKING being asleep and waking up just in time to torch your bird? No way to pummel chef pig with enough birds or debris to kill it? I got to this level over and over again, different combos of birds, even tried the recommendation above, and none were successful. I’d have had to use 60 gems for three more cards and I’m not spending gems on levels I can’t defeat without them. That might not seem to make sense, but my thought is that if I can’t beat the level with the normal number of birds without needing gems, then the likelihood that Rovio is going to try to make me pay 60 gems, keep the boss pig alive, and then try to force me to spend another 180Â gems or more, is astronomical. No, thank you.
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancisGot an easier 2-2-3 today that I actually beat with just Bomb:
Bomb blasted the boss off the ledge, and then he conveniently rolled off and onto the balloons and then dropped down and fell into the waterfall. KPP took a few tries; 1st and 2nd bosses were easy:
3rd boss is this enclosed one which is just annoying in general as you need lots of birds just to be safe:
It took me a few tries but eventually when the boss inventively ended up sat on the platform he starts on, I was able to float him out the right side with a carefully aimed Stella throw. I had a rare chest waiting on the 1st attempt (from the screenshot) but ran out of birds and the boss was at about half health; I knew the chances of finishing him off were slim even if you get given good extra birds, so I kept my gems and just restarted.
AggieGuy@aggieguyHad a completely different DC, and it wasn’t beatable. Rooms 3 and 4 on round 3 were bird suckers. If I could have made it to the boss with 3-4 birds, it would have been beatable, but the best I did was make it with 1 bird.
Oh well, keeps from from going back to 4-5-6 hell for another day or two.
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancis2-3-4 today, made it to the boss with just 4 birds as the room before took 4 birds (thanks to a scuba pig taking an extra bird, see if you can spot him):
Despite that the boss was still beatable and was done with the 4 birds + 1 from the meter filling:
Note that this room is the easier version of the same room that I had a week ago:
This one is harder as the exit ledge is tighter and has rocks on it which make the boss very difficult to push over the ledge as they’ll just wedge him up. Thankfully the room I got today is the easier version as the boss will easily roll off that top right ledge providing you’ve cleared it before sending the boss into the flowers.
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancisKPP was super easy and I got an extra rare chest. 1st boss took 2 birds, just break the structure holding him up so he falls down, then push him into the waterfall:
2nd boss took 3 birds as the boss eventually found his way to the right waterfall:
3rd boss was a 1-shot with Silver:
AggieGuy@aggieguySame DC, but it’s a no go for me since it is 5 rooms and rooms 3 and 4 each take 4+ birds. If I make it to the final room I have useless birds left like Red and Blues.
And is it just me, or does Room 3 always seem to be the room which is the worst?
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancis2-3-4 after skipping for a few days. Good timing for the x2 black pearls event and an easier DC with this boss:
Notice how it’s the version of this room that has an exit, unlike the impossible blocked exit version that me and Mzimoxs had 5 days ago, so I was able to beat this with just a few birds as you can actually win this one.
KPP 1st boss was this one that is generally annoying and requires luck:
2nd boss was easy:Round 3 has magician pigs in some rooms, including the 1st where he almost always teleports to the same idiotic spot that will cost an extra bird if random debris doesn’t kill him first:
Room 2 has this horrible structure that can cost you lots of birds:
This was the 3rd boss:
I ended up restarting a few times and eventually got in with 3 birds, thanks to round 3 just being extra tough. I still ended up buying extra birds and luckily was able to beat the boss with the last of those birds, keeping the extra rare chest I had picked up.
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancis2-3-4 with this boss:
Lots of birds made it easy, eventually Bomb sent blasted him out the map:
KPP was surprisingly easy, I beat it on my first attempts and got an extra rare chest. 1st boss is this one, which you can get in the 4-5-6 DCs:
2nd boss:
3rd boss:
Twisted Lemon@oliverfrancis2-3-4, got an extra rare chest from the streak meter:
KPP done on the 1st attempt with another extra rare chest gained:
Forgot to screenshot the 3rd boss so here’s a borrowed picture:
AggieGuy@aggieguySame DC, but for some reason, the boss just did not take much damage.
Any other time I’ve seen that boss, he is easy to pound to death with debris and birds. Despite being hit by about as much debris as possible, plus Terence, Bomb, and Matilda, he still had about 40% health.
Birdbrained@birdbrainedToday’s challenge.. someone care to tell me how we are supposed to do this without having to beat the king pig to death? There is no way to bounce him out that I can see.
AggieGuy@aggieguyI’ve never seen a way to beat it other than beating the pig to death, which always takes gems which is not worth it.
Mzimoxs@mzimoxsYes, you need to do this level by force.
Terrence is mandatory, fling him into the upper flower and with some luck the boss will be down to as little as a third of his health. Then Mathilda, Bomb and Silver (usually at least two of them) should be able to finish him off.
In contrast to other boss levels (when they can clear debris or push the boss around) Red, Blues and Chuck are absolutely useless. Save the other birds, especially Terrence.
