    I must be missing something. All the rewards,except for the last one, are for TOF tickets. So I am doing the TOF to obtain hats to play the event in order to play the TOF to win more hats to play the TOF…and so on.

    As I recall there is no video option in a TOF round bought with tickets, so you’d need a fair amount of gems to get a handful of feathers or a couple of spells.

    Why is this adventure even worth playing?

    I did not beat level 7 — I never even made it to the final room. I’d have been willing to fork over some gems to get the 5000 feathers, but I wanted to at least see how hard that room was.

    Ditto here. Two hats. Ignored the game for the most part.

    Meaning it might actually be worth doing again.

    Buy the cheapest first. When you’ve got all those sets, move up to the next level.

    And those wood platforms with rails are tough to begin with. I try to avoid striking them directly.

    Nope. That’s it. Pay to play.

    Once you have the highest value hat set (samurai, x11) it may not be the best choice to buy the lower grade hats just for an eventual slingshot upgrade. Unless you just like hats.

    Now that the MEBC shop is open all the time, I wait for a double feather event, then use whatever coins I have to buy feathers in the shop. 500 coins will get you 30,000 feathers. 1000 coins = 100,000 feathers. A pretty good deal.

    My usual level is emerald 2 but this season I’m averaging a good 5 pts or so below normal. Now I’d need to average about 50 per day to reach that level. I could spend hundreds of gems to play over and over, I suppose, but it doesn’t seem worth it for an extra 250 coins. Not to mention the time involved.

    They seem to be alternating the adventures between old and new hats.

    @aggieguy, right, especially if you have the samurai x11 set. Why bother with the x10?

    Great run, @garethw. No such luck here This will be the first adventure where I never managed more than the first 2 hats.

    Well, there’ll probably be another one in a day or two.

    I usually average about 45 per round. This season it’s about 35.

    You’ve hit on exactly the point — to get the biggest scores consistently you have to spend gems, which means eventually spending money. Rovio is a business, obviously, and they want to make money, so they must reward the players who pony up the cash. But they also have to balance that against the need to keep the more casual players involved and not drive them away, or they lose the eyeballs that drive ad sales.

    I’m not one of those who pay to play so I accept that there will be many times I just can’t win.

    You can get through levels 1-2 fairly easily with red & blue. For level 2, the key is to get a spell in the first room. Knock out the bottom left structure with blues, which will (usually) feed the flower and knock out the structure to the right. Then use a red to knock out the top structure. You can get ducks or even an ME spell.

    Room 2 is an easy strike with red. Save your spell for room 3.

    I got a feather frenzy and converted 7000 coins (about 3 seasons worth) into 700,000 feathers. Happy for that, though I did notice that some of the birds got no bonus for leveling up, even though they often leveled up twice.

    Same here. After an update last night the hatchling looks hard-boiled and 500+ apples are gone. It says I have to be connected, but I am. Also, MEBC “down for maintenance,” although the rest of the game seems to be working normally.

    Glad to hear it’s not just me.

    @doulgas

    Well, bad timing for me. MEBC shop didn’t open until the double feather frenzy was over. I had 7000 coins waiting to buy enough feathers to fill a comforter. But since the shop is always open from now on I can wait until the next event to cash in.

    Level 1 was harder than 2 or 3 for me. Working on 4 now.

    @aggieguy, you have to keep at it for sure, but I beat #5 twice (including the reset) with 5 birds and no Terrence.

    Room 1 – Red to knock over the wood tower. Sometimes you can get a strike. If so, you’re in business. If not, use Matilda to clear out the bottom.

    Room 2 – Take out the top two structures with one bird to slide down the slime onto the bottom. I used red again but it worked once or twice with blue. You really do need a strike in this room, especially if you didn’t get one in the first. If it took more than 3 birds on these first 2 rooms, start over.

    I remember rooms 3-4 both had rising slime flows, where you have to topple the bottom structures with enough debris to clear out at least some of the rest.

    If you haven’t received a couple of spells by now, forget it. If you got a red pepper, save it for room 5, where there’s a buried pig on the far right that’s hard to hit.

    You can do room 6 with 2 birds, maybe one if you have Terrence.

    It’s a gift. I was never going to get the chest at the end but I can grab the feather rewards fairly easily now.

    @doulgas

    I finally got the mercy run I was hoping for and have 5 hats. Working on level 6 now.

    @doulgas

    The first 3 levels, especially #1, used to be a gimme. Not anymore. If I want to win, I take 3-4 spells into each round, no matter what fp the opponent has. If I get hopelessly behind after a few flings, I just quit and save the spells for another time.

    @doulgas

    Same here. But on the bright side, I doubled my 10 black pearls. Whoopie!

    Buster
    @doulgas

    @nik-handson, 3 birds should get you through level 3 easily. As usual with these events, what happens in the first couple of rooms makes all the difference. Meaning: if you don’t strike, don’t bother.

    Me, I’m still sitting here with my 2 lousy birds. TOF let me go all the way to 32 today but FF didn’t give me any more hats.
