I play similar to @partshade, waiting an hour or two before starting to play. I play the four times and any more that pop up before I go to bed. I also tend to not sleep through the night, waking up every three or four hours. This doesn’t give me the best night’s sleep, but it’s great for playing the game. I’m at +190% promotion bonus so it’s not difficult to earn the 550 tokens every day. I only burn gems at the end if I need to.

You can only use the accessory when you play the character. Accessories can also be purchased with gems if you don’t have enough tokens, and it’s at a 50% discount compared to buying the accessory directly with gems outside the tournament.

Sparks can upgrade your tournament bonus percentage which you will use many times nearly every day. Also, you can’t buy sparks with gems outside the tournament.

Buy the sparks and if you really want the accessories, spend some gems.

That’s basically the amount of force the character expends when it drops into play as a buddy. More transform power, more damage caused to structures when it hits the ground.

I earned 500 Spark points and poked around to see what to do with it. When I got to the upgrade screen, it wouldn’t let me out without upgrading something. Even rebooting the game brought me back to the upgrade screen. 500 gets a first level upgrade of 5% for a selected character. It looks like it will 1050 for its next promotion. There doesn’t like to be a way to by Spark points.

@paul13: Thanks, that was my leading theory. Hopefully the new one will cheap, or you can at least buy it down a bit with tokens. Didn’t we have to wait over a year before Nemesis Prime came back around again and was available as a token prize?

I had Dead End show up as a teammate selection last night, level 8 I think. Is it already available somewhere?

@lorie-murray: Just checked the arena and the sliver bird had an exclamation mark on it. Clicked to get the hat selection screen. In the lower right corner was a feather marked “Claim your daily feathers” with the number 129 on the feather. Tapped it for the 129 feathers. Went back to the main screen and the 4 gems reward was activated. It looks like this reward might not be on the same daily time cycle as the other items. We’ll see, but at least it appears to be working now.

The extra gems should show up as an achieved line item in the list of gems rewards. The daily feathers reward is different (only 4 gems). You’re supposed to tap on the bird in the arena that earning feathers (has an exclamation sign on it). This will give you some extra feathers and activate the 4 gems rewards.

This worked fine for me yesterday but like you, there was nothing to tap. The daily gems I purchased did show up though.

I’ve had a number of them, seems to be getting more frequent too. I like it!

The tasks have toned down for me, much more achievable with a reasonable amount of effort. I’ve had a few that started off hard, like 10 miles, but it reset somewhere along the way to 3 miles. Got 7 of the 8 pretty quick this morning and I’ll finish the 200 TNTs task after I grind through the tournament.

I got gems but no message.

I had 480 unspent tokens from yesterday so I waited until this morning to see if there any token available in the task be fore cashing in. There were, and I picked up the 20 I needed to get 50,000 coins without burning a few gems. It’s not much, but it was worth it to me.

Further, I had collected a few tokens prior to the tournament start and they were banked and waiting for me. We’ll find out in a few days if the unspent tokens stay banked for the next tournament, which I’m hoping there are.

Pretty sure this means SKYNET has started its takeover. Keep an eye out for Terminators in the other games.

Be sure to shoot the two missiles quickly after they launch so a third missile will launch. It’s like a built-in 50% bonus.

Yeah, I’m getting murdered in the Arena this morning too, lost 10 out of the last 12 plays. Opponent seems to always get 4 million or better, going upwards of 8 million.

Not crazy about this incarnation. Very minimal coinage and pigs earned, character is way too fast and overshoots target areas, hitting energon sources accomplishes nothing, and the easiest thing to kill is the super boss pig.

That happened to me once when had been playing almost the whole 24 hours. I think what tripped it up was that I tried to get one last play in before time ran out and I finished right before, on or just after the contest ended. I now don’t play if it lands me within two minutes of the end time.

I came in third the first day and I’ve won out the rest so far. If I win the rest of the days, I’ll have 11,900 tokens, 100 short of the big prize. :-(

I used to use Grimlock as my primary player but I’ve mostly switched over to Soundblaster. Weak against mortar towers and missiles, but it obliterates everything else. I swap him in as the primary on for the low percentage bonuses. You definitely pop all the pigs, glass blocks, etc on the ground which will likely work out better than the weak bonus for a character that won’t get all the key targets. Can be effective on missiles but you have to wait until it’s danger-close and then tap quickly and hope another target doesn’t fly through.

About a 7 for me, but for most adults I’d say 6-7, for kids, 7.5-8.5.
