    I have replied in the thread raising the issue here:

    The issue was caused by a DNS outage preventing the Angry Birds Transformers app from contacting our game servers, which we are currently investigating. The data update which was pushed out on Wednesday only contained changes for the special offer that began that day and is entirely unrelated.

    We are currently considering how best to compensate players for the issue – please be assured that we intend to reimburse any lost event tokens as best we can, and will extend the availability of the token exchange as necessary.

    I apologise any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your understanding.

    The Acid Storm event won’t require an app update – we are moving towards delivering more frequent and varied event content, and as such we won’t be updating the app ahead of each new event.

    I’m afraid we’ve not yet identified the cause of the accessories issue. As soon as I have any more information I’ll pass it on to you.

    I’m afraid we weren’t able to deal with the issue during the current event. The content of the event was pre-set to be procedurally generated (much like the map nodes), but in future we will be tailoring the content to the challenges.

    Thank you very much for your efforts in preparing the video comparison. We’ll take a good look at this specific case to see if we can narrow it down, but it sounds more and more like a broader issue with accessory buffs in event content.

    We have identified the missing hearts issue as a bug relating to accessory benefits, but we’ve not been able to reproduce the other issues you mention (faster overheating and more damage taken). Could you give more specific character/level information? Thanks for continuing to feed back to us.

    Hello. I’d like to clarify the response you received from the support team about this: There is no risk that any coins you earn will be lost, as the maximum coins that can be stored is a lot more than 9 digits. The fix that was referred to is to ensure the interface correctly displays the coin count.

    Update 1.15.3.3 has now been rolled out to iOS and Android. This update should ensure all users have squad bonuses active throughout the Angry Birds Movie event as intended. Thanks again for your patience, and good luck with the rest of the competitions!

    Hello! I’ll do my best to answer your questions here:

    1 – I can’t really make any promises on the map/clouds just yet. What I can say is that with all the focus being on the event content in recent months, we are now taking a good look at the ‘main’ game with a view to making improvements that will keep it relevant for long-term players.

    2 – Again, no promises here right now, but as part of the work we’re doing on the map we’d very much like to bring that long-dormant island to life!

    3 – This is something we’re aware of, and we’re certainly planning to create better uses for your coins in future. We’d like players to feel rewarded for saving up as long as some of you have been.

    4 – We definitely plan to give players more chances to unlock characters that were previously available for a limited time. Whether we’ll be changing the methods used to acquire them, I can’t say for sure.

    I’m aware these answers are quite vague, but I wanted to assure you that we want to see the same improvements to the game that our players do. I’ll do my best to share more information as and when I’m able to. Thanks for your continued support!

    Hi @wrw01. It’s been a very busy past few weeks, but I’ll do my best to catch up responding to some of the posts here.

    As you’ve no doubt seen by now, we will be offering players additional opportunities to unlock characters that were available in past events. We are also exploring ways to make these events more rewarding for those players who have already unlocked the characters.

    As far as we’re aware, it’s not possible to accumulate score in the way you’ve described without it being added to the leaderboard.

    Just to clarify, when you refer to ‘watching the leaderboards’, I presume you’re regularly refreshing them by some means? I know there is often still some confusion about the content of the leaderboard not updating on its own.

    Hello. First of all, thank you for continuing to play and support Angry Birds Transformers. I’ll address each of your questions as best I can:

    1 – The support team work very hard to make sure they at least respond to every ticket submitted. Obviously this means having to prioritise, as some tickets are more serious or urgent than others. However, of the eight tickets you have submitted in the last three months (some of which refer to one or more issues raised in other tickets you have submitted), only two have gone without a response so far. I’ll explain why:

    On February 18th, you submitted a screenshot demonstrating that you had finished one of the Chinese New Year challenges in first place, but had only received 500 tokens. This was a very worrying thing to see, as we were not aware of any issues that could cause this to happen, and none of our event data was reporting it. As such, our dev team spent quite some time trying to reproduce the issue, to no avail.

    However, in a previous ticket on February 16th you submitted this screenshot when complaining about the lack of up-to-date leaderboard information causing you to finish 2nd rather than 1st. After comparing these two screenshots, it’s very difficult for the customer service team to justify continuing to prioritise the tickets you submit, as we risk spending further development time trying to identify issues that might not exist.

    2 – I can’t see a ticket referring specifically to this issue, but I’ll always do my best to respond to queries about individual issues if you provide a ticket number.

    3 – These check boxes are designed only to be used to address specific problems. My colleague @arceemega usually makes a point of directing players to the relevant option. If you have not been pointed in the direction of these options, I strongly recommend you don’t use them.
    It’s worth noting that while we did our best to tuck these options away, we are aware that players can happen upon them anyway, and we intend to add some information in-game to sum up what I’ve just explained.

    4 – Thank you for reporting this issue. I’m not aware of a limit on the number of Facebook friends that can appear in your leaderboard (while it’s possible, I would imagine it would be in the hundreds rather than as low as 30). I will look into the issue however, and if I find there is something specific limiting the number I’ll let you know.

    5 – Thank you for pointing this out, I agree that a mission reward larger than the max capacity doesn’t make a great deal of sense. I’ll pass this on and I’m sure it will be addressed.

    6 – I appreciate that there have been a number of issues resulting in lost resources for some players. In the cases where we can verify what has been lost, we do our best to reimburse those players where possible. However, it’s not always straightforward for us to supply the correct amounts to the right people (coins, for example, aren’t something we have the capacity to just hand out), so we have to address these situations case-by-case, leading to the prioritising I mentioned in response to point 1.

    I’ll make some enquiries with the team about this behaviour, but I’m afraid without more information it’s going to be quite difficult for us to try to reproduce the issue. It sounds like what you described was slightly different to what @pampeans experienced today – to clarify, could you open the event window at all, or did nothing happen when you tapped on the ‘Chinese New Year’ popout?

    No. I can confirm unreservedly that every leaderboard entry you see relates to a real player, showing the name they entered and the score they’ve accumulated.

    I’ve gone into some detail in another post here about how we’d like to improve leaderboards in future, hopefully leading to a clearer competition experience and making changes in position more understandable.

    The Token Exchange will remain available for three days after the end of the event. So you will have until Wednesday 3rd Feb 0:00 GMT (Tuesday 2nd Feb 19:00 EST) to spend your tokens.

    There was a growing trend during the holiday event of players deliberately joining a challenge leaderboard as late as possible in an attempt to end up in first place with minimal effort. This has a number of undesirable consequences – it leads to higher strain on our servers as many new leaderboards are created at once, it exacerbates the existing issues of players relying on out-of-date leaderboard information in the last few minutes of the challenge, and it trivialises the effort put in by players who join earlier in the challenge.

    As such, we have added some scaling to the rewards dependent on how much time is left in the challenge when a player joins, and we will continue to refine this for future events.

    The Challenge in C Minor event will end at 0:00 GMT on Sunday 31st January (Saturday will be the last day). I will endeavour to ensure the event timings are included in future event announcements on the newsfeed.

    This has been a tricky one for us – obviously we would like everyone to see a clear picture of the standings at any given time. However, a very high number of requests to our servers not only gets expensive quite quickly, but can cause instability leading to failed requests or even corruption of event data.

    The current setup works like this: Every time you finish a level, or when booting or resuming the game, the game checks to see if the leaderboard numbers have been refreshed in the past 5 minutes. If they haven’t, they get refreshed at that point.

    We appreciate this isn’t ideal, and we’re trying to find a manageable solution that makes everything more transparent – at least a timestamp showing the last refresh time on the leaderboard, and possibly a manual refresh button with a cooldown. We are also conscious that seeing all of the final standings (rather than just your own score and position) would help give a better idea of what happened in the final minutes, and we’re looking into this.
