    Rovio, by their own admission, underestimated the League system and didn’t think things through properly.
    They subsequently added the star system for the great number of very competitive players who got there far too fast.

    Once Rovio realised how popular the League was they quickly had to employ a strategy – the first strategy was to take twenty points off everyone who wasn’t in the top few. That caused unhappiness so that had to be changed and soon the endless stars appeared.

    Its not a good system but its all they have till further development of the game happens.

    No, not ever.

    I recently changed my gifting and receiving gifts via Puffin browser. Puffin has a neat home screen that I use to access Angrybirdsnest and ABF’s. I don’t use this format to play on, just for gifting. Download it and see if it helps.

    You do know that you need to request the gifts to download by going to ypur Friends Tournament and opening the INBOX, then either click on each gift or click on ALL and claim all gifts.

    Its important to claim regularly, I do it once a week on a Sunday night, now :-), if you leave gifts unclaimed after 14 days they begin to delete. Good luck, tell me if you need more help.

    I don’t have experience of iPad Mini but guess you are not the only player on this platform. Hopefully someone will come along and help.

    Do you take a look at the weekly ABF’s Walkthroughs? Sometimes other members have different methods of play to our own. It’s often good to see what others are doing.

    Rovio do dispatch cheaters if they are told about them or if they spot them. I found two cheats in my League last night and sent off an e-mail to Rovio. This morning they are no longer in my League.

    How to recognise a cheater :
    1. Their score will be way above everyone else’s by tens of thousands.
    2. There will be no evidence of “grinding” (score gradually increasing through regular play over the week. They will just appear and sit at the top of a leader board increasing their score or stationary).

    How to effectively report to Rovio:
    1. Go to this page below and fill out the form and send to Rovio:
    https://support.rovio.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=45706

    2. On the left hand side of your Angrybirds Friends screen is a cog, press the cog then select “I” for information. Make a note of the Agrybirds Friends version you are on and your user ID right at the bottom of the page printed in heavy black text. Add the version number and your user ID to your complaint.

    3. Briefly tell Customer Services you believe there is a cheater in your league and give the names and scores of each cheat.

    4. Add your screen shot showing to the form where it says add a file.

    If Rovio believe these players are cheats they will disappear and you’ll receive an email from a Rovio.

    Hi DollarBill & WingmanJuan……

    I quote DollarBill:
    “I have asked Rovio about this before, but they respond with “well, we think players who earned their data should get to keep it,” but I totally disagree with this,”

    If Rovio are so concerned about allowing players to keep “earned data” then why do they feel its right to take points off players they “earned” and paid for as we see in the ABF’s League. Incidentally, I have gained 5 points per week but Rovio took 20 off as punitive measures for not reaching the top ranks.

    Thought it was worth pointing out that Rovio are not consistent.

    I do appreciate where everyone is coming from and I wish this conversation was not necessary. It is a sad state of affairs all round.

    Freckled Pig – I have written about Rovio’s demotion policy on The Nest and not had much support from other members.

    My posts relating to Rovio taking hard earned and paid for score off me week after week.
    Links: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/dixi-60/

    Hopefully you read the very long post that outlines my argument and maybe you and others can start telling Rovio you don’t feel it’s fair either.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    It’s not a debate, it’s a question – Do you tolerate cheating in effect.

    The short answer will always be NO for me. If at any time I feel Rovio are encouraging or blindsiding cheating I’m out of here for good. The only way to put pressure on Rovio is for everyone to write regularly telling them about specific incidents where you believe cheating is taking place. I have done this a few times but feel like a lone voice and not being taken seriously because of he apparent apathy of the majority. My last communication to Rovia is on Angrybirdsnest somewhere, I’ll find the link and put it here.

    Letter I sent to Rovio a month ago

    Possibly a hacker in my league.

    I don’t see the point of joining the cheaters or justifying their actions if we want Rovio to clear them out.

    There is another way to pressure Rovio – don’t buy coins and power-ups! Starve them of our cash till they sort out the cheating. So who’ll join me? I haven’t purchased power-ups for over a month. I rely on daily gifts from fair players on three ABF’s Facebook groups until the cheats are banished – believe me Rovio could do a better job but what will be the point if everyone cheats.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    Two wrongs don’t make a right either.

    Rovio appear to be trying to weed out the cheaters so until you can prove Rovio are cheaters too I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt.

    I’m proud to be a non-cheater!

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    I am intolerant of cheaters, hackers and any form of exploitation of the games.

    I don’t care how anyone tries to justify using devices that give advantage – it’s not sporting and not tolerated in any guise by me.

    To cheat a little is to cheat! Using an exploit – you are still a cheat!

    Even with Facebook Frinds ou can land up with one player taking first spot week after week no matter how much money ou how at PU’s. Rovio will start taking as much as 18 and 20 points off you if ou fall below a certain level in Diamond League where I suggest you are right about hackers.

    Rovio emailed me this today after I requested they re-consider the punitive action of reducing players points as I explained above. Obviously they missed my point and replied thus :

    “As a company we have decided to treat our players equally – regardless of whether they have spent $0 or $2000 in our games. Thus your request of treating paying customers differently will most likely not happen in the near future.

    If we would stop reducing points from players on the bottom of their League groups, it would end in a situation where all players would be on Diamond tier. In that case there would no longer be “good players” or “bad players” as everyone would be on the same level. That would make the whole League system obsolete, and we would have spent months of continuous game development for nothing.”

    I replied thus:

    “You totally missed my point – I am not asking to be treated differently to any other client – I’m asking to be treated fairly by Rovio. The points I gathered to reach my Diamond score of 670 were paid for in hard cash buying power-ups. In my opinion Rovio is being unfair by deducting points on a weekly basis (20 in one week) that cheats or clients who spend thousands of $$$’s overtake me in the League. Because I don’t cheat I am at a disadvantage even though I have supported Rovio by purchasing power-ups. My low weekly scores result in Rovio taking punitive action against me by stealing my hard earned and bought points.

    I have no issue with not advancing in the League but I object to my hard worked and paid for for points being removed. Rovio should view the points earned via power-ups as goods sold.

    It’s not necessary to constantly demote players to sort good players from bad players – all you are doing is turning paying clients into non-paying clients or cheats. This contradicts what you claim that Rovio treats all clients the same. You don’t. What happens week after week is a certain person wins the 1200 coins each week – possibly by cheating. Add more levels for clients to aspire to instead of putting the ceiling at Diamond Level. If everyone is treated the same everyone should reach Diamond Level.

    In the interests of fair play, a level playing field, and equality between all players Rovio should provide power-ups free to all players. This will dis-incentivise those cheats using hacks and third party software to cheat and gain leverage over your paying clients and give everyone, including the so-called purists, the same chance at high scores. With the present system there are three distinct tiers of players – Cheats with high scores, paying clients – with mediocre scores and non-paying clients low scores. There must be other ways Rovio can charge clients for using their products.

    How does Rovio as a company see fairness in a world of unfairness created by themselves.
    What incentive does Rovio give paying clients to continue supporting the company if they are treated the same as a non-paying clients?

    As far as everyone getting into the same League level – well that’s ridiculous! Extend the number of levels. I suggest you use gemstones since you have diamond already – ruby, sapphire, emerald, opal, tanzanite, zircon, peridot, etc. There are so many to choose from.

    Please escalate my concerns and complaints upwards in the company to the highest level in Rovio. ”

    @dixi-60

    That’s very interesting about the levels in the different AB games. I have fully completed many for instance Rio – every star, feather and egg + any extras.

    Bill, does the story levels over all the various Rovio Angry birds games such as Rio have the same bearing on our ABF’s tournament levels and our ability to reach the top. I definitely don’t recall ever seeing Green Days.

    @dixi-60

    Rovio have all my details, they know my Facebook profile and my Nest profile.
    I wrote a long email direct onto their website and don’t have a copy. Someone is sitting on it or filed in a waste basket as too tiresome to deal with.

    In a few hours I may well be back in Gold and will stop wasting my own resources and play I’ll my PU’s are spent. I’m not lining the pockets of unfair companies with my pieces of silver.

    I have read bill’s explanation with interest and need to check my levels on all my other games to see if I have the magic green day points. I have played for a long time now so it will be interesting to see.

    Not sure my partner is happy – being demoted from Gold to Silver either.

    Thanks Wingman Juan,
    In my e-mail to Rovio I gave my full particulars name, address etc. including my Nest profile and name. I checked my email accounts and my last communication fron Rovio was on 17/2/15 giving me a ticket number for an earlier email. That was from Lida.

    I sent the original email off the Rovio website so don’t have a copy. I’ll contact them again. Is here anyone in particular I should address the concerns to? There is no trace of an email from Rovio Support in March, maybe they have mixed me up with someone else.

    @dixi-60

    `What is it that you are trying to find out about Rovio’s scoring?

    I have written quite a bit on the Nest about my falling scores over the past few weeks. I have also written to Rovio but have not had a reply on this unfair practice. I travelled up from Wood to Diamond 1 and am now on a slippery slope downhill.

    This is mine starting from now

    DATE: 30/3/15

    LEAGUE:
    Diamond 1

    LEAGUE RATING
    613

    LEAGUE POSITION
    31/40

    RESULT
    -20

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    What kind of logic is that?

    I play with my friends and as far as I know there is no way to opt out of Rovio League – where all the “high scorers” seem to be on my list every week. In my friends I get to between 6th – 11th on League I’m on thirtieth place mostly.

    I’m not a bad player, more middle of he road.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    Tell me more about Green Day Data, what was it and when did Rovio have it.
    I think I started playing Angry Birds in 2010/11.

    There is something unfair about the League on ABF’S. The same person wins in my Friends section every week. Short of un-friending them they are stuck on my Fruends list preventing anyone else getting to the top spot. I bet these are the early players with benefits.

    My Diamond league score has fallen from 677 to 613. My cut off for continuing on ABF’S is Gold league. When I all to gold in a weeks time I’m off like a dirty shirt! As it is at he moment I am not buying PU’s but existing on gifts. Rovio don’t have long to choose to keep two paying customers to pay their salary and overheads.

    I’m losing patience!

    @dixi-60

    Welcome to Angrybirdsnest………

    I have been writing to Rovio and my last email has been ignored. Maybe you can take up my complaint and maybe tell me what Rovio Customer Service hasn’t.

    I am in Diamond level one. My score initially on entering Diamond was 670 but week in week this has dropped to 613. Firstly, my score has been generated by purchased PU’s so in effect I feel they should not be taken away or eroded if I can’t play for a week or don’t do a top placement. The taking away of earned points is unfair and a practice not seen across the gaming world except at Rovio. If you have worked your way to a certain level with King, for instance, and take a break of a year as I did, when you return it’s to the level you retired at.

    In my opinion, if a player in your League doesn’t come tops it’s counter-productive to take his/her points away after they spent money with Rovio to play. It’s an insult and shows disrespect towards your client. It’s far better all round not to advance the player or incentivize them with a small number of points or keep them on the same score level. If you think I am the only player who feels robbed and cheated by Rovio – do so at your peril. My solution to this problem is to quite simple I’m NOT buying PU’s anymore and eventually when I get back to Gold I’ll stop playing. My partner is doing likewise and so will our friends.

    Anyway, this is the score – I’m not purchasing PU’s anymore until the erosion of my points stops and my former points are restored.

    You want to guard against demoralizing your players and turning them cheats and hacks. It’s very easy to see how some players went off piste.

    That’s my story, most players won’t complain they’ll just disappear.
    I hope you can do something about this otherwise I guess I only have about two weeks left to play Angry Birds Friends, you know the score 613.

    P.S. You can drop by and see my week on week scores, I’m never at the bottom of he pack as I am in the League. That tells me I still have hacks and cheats playing against me. Also, the same people seem to win every week, how is that possible.

    I don’t know either but I presume they use made made up details. I know that different members of one household using one computer can all raise accounts in their own names. There may be help online somewhere about making multiple accounts
    without having multiple iPhones or computers.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    Do it alphabetically…….

    1. Select “In box” at the bottom of your Friends menu
    2. Select “Send Free Gifts”
    3. Select “Search for more friends”
    4. start with “A” and work through the alphabet selecting placing a tick in the
    friends boxes.
    5. Press send in the right hand corner of the pop-up menu.
    6. This procedure takes minutes and my guess is your friends appreciate the results.

    @dixi-60

    I don’t have multiple Facebook accounts for family etc. just my one account linked to Angrybirdsnest. I made up name not connected to anything related to my proper identity. It works or me.

    I do think, however, that some folk have multiple accounts on Facebook including an account with personal photographs and personal data.

    I belong to that small group of cautious peeps who watch and wait to see long term effects of new stuff. I’m never the first to take up a new product till the bugs are fixed and its proved itself. Facebook – as was my suspicion in the first place has brought unexpected problems for people – some consequences irreversible and damaging to careers and family.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    ……And mine!

    I have stopped buying PU’s but still won’t cheat. I’m playing with gifts from friends only now. Rovio are not playing fair with those of us who paid their bills.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    You’ll find it different in Diamond League – Every week I lose points so will soon be back in Gold. I guess I could finally get back to stone!

    I’m not convinced that Rovio are pulling out all the stops on cheats and hacks.

    Dixi 60
    @dixi-60

    It looks like players are beating your scores. It happens to me all the time!
