Just a small clarification: the stars are not based on “time” but rather number of turns it takes for you to win. So technically you can take 10 minutes to make a move, finish the battle in 5 hours and still get 3 stars if you didn’t use up too many turns.

For sure the minimap will disappear along with this special dungeon since the event will have ended. It may return in a different event but can’t imagine it being a permanent daily/weekly.

Easiest way still is to join very late into the week and quickly win just 1 battle then don’t visit the Arena again until the next week (again join late). This way you save a LOT of time and always get promoted for being the only 1 in the league. It works the best if you don’t even connect to the game for the whole week (so requires not playing the game which doesn’t work if you want to play the current event), but it should still work as long as you play the game but never enter the arena except for the weekly late joins. Also works better when you’re not at max level or levels with a large number of players (i.e. Level 41, Level 45).

I believe the trophy is awarded for the highest league you reached during the season. So if you reached the Diamond League at any week (or any time from Week 6 to Week 14) you would have gotten the diamond trophy even if you fell back to Wood League at the end.

One of my friends was in Diamond League but finished in Gold League and still got the diamond trophy.

Also the Diamond Frame description says: “A frame for your profile picture to show you reached the diamond league during arena season 1”, and the item blurb text says “Trophy for reaching Diamond League in Arena Season 1.”

That means even though there were 2 other diamond frames on my leaderboard for week 14, they may have been in a lower league during that week, thus no guarantees that any other player were in fact in Diamond League that week…

@kerravon I meant to join 1 day late as usual but was too busy and joined 2 days late and ended up with people who already had 2 sets of objectives completed, thus truly behind on points this time. Yes everyone slowed down as the week went on and I missed a set of objectives when the new update pushed back the reset time to match arena weekly reset time.

Also for week 14 I ended up with more people around my rank and less 0 point players from joining 2 days late, whereas in week 12 and 13 when I joined one day late the majority of players were level 41 and over half of them had 0 points for most of the week. I posted my week 12 leaderboard on page 2, will add week 13 later.

When I start late in the week I get people who also start late, not sure what is happening with your case.

@kerravon I started at 6pm CST the 2nd day (1 hour before 7pm CST when objectives reset). The weekly leaderboard resets at 2pm CST so I started 28 hours late. I missed a 3000 objective and a whole set of objectives on the last day so 8500 points (not counting the 5500 everyone appeared to have missed the 1st day). Didn’t go for any additional grinding or re-spins.

A distinction may be needed for stars of the Arena GPM because for the Tops/Flags, the same item name is ALWAYS a specific star (like Jeweled Pumpkin is always 2-star, there will never be a 0, 1, or 3-star Jeweled Pumpkin), and thus Emblems (which do have 0, 1, 2, 3-star versions) and Tops/Flags have slightly different odds when separated.

Based on 94 standard spins on GAPM, there’s about a 5% chance of set items, 35% chance of emblems, and 60% chance of tops/flags.

Yes I did the same thing as Paul and got 1st place each week for 3 weeks in a row, only sacrifice is just not doing golden pigs and free rolls for a whole week but definitely saves a lot of time.

I also joined the second day last week and ended up with 7 people having 0 scores. Maybe they had actual scores elsewhere as I can’t imagine those Level 41s willingly being bumped down to Platinum if all they had to do was 1 battle. So the multiple arena presence may be a cause.

Agree with the above; the support response just sounds like the customer service department has no clue what’s going on but it’s almost certain the programmers know what’s happening.

I have the achievement for finishing 1st in Diamond League even though I’ve never actually done that. Could this set up be a cause of getting the achievement if I happened to be on some other board where I was 1st.

This looks a lot like the same multi board placements in events.

One problem is that Rovio did not appear to clear out the existing cache of player bird lineups which contain all those hacked birds. The issue of hacked birds with unrealistic stats has not been fixed so they would also keep appearing in arena lineups even if the old cache had been cleared.

Huge thanks to @steven-dunn-5648 for sharing the single league strategy; it’s worked two weeks in a row and finally went from Gold to Diamond. It works exactly as described as long as you don’t stay in the game too long, so basically just sacrifice a whole week of playing. I only needed to play 1 arena battle each time and check that I was the only person, then I didn’t open the game for the rest of the week.

I’ve never gotten Mastery Level 10 lineups but I’m only Level 36.

I feel like to be safe, once you check a few times that you’re still the only one on the leaderboard then there’s no point in checking again until the end of the week when claiming the prize. Every connection to the server (or more likely interaction with elements of the arena area) may increase the chances of being placed in an existing group.

Seems like the key is mainly to only play a single battle and exiting the game quickly (not spend too much time with the game connected to the internet pretty much). Last week I played regularly and my leaderboard had only 14 people for almost the entire week until a few hours before the end when a 15th person appeared who had about 1000 points, so might have been someone who joined late but played multiple battles and got put in with a regularly progressed group. Which again brings the question of if you completely skip out a week either before or after claiming the previous week’s prizes, would you automatically be demoted?

I’m a bit confused on if I should completely skip viewing the new league board after claiming the prize or just close the game right after spinning the wheel? (or do I need to exit out of the wheel prize screen then close the app?)
