seggy@seggyAnybody know if you still get the highest trophy if you hit the highest level, but then drop back down in subsequent weeks? Or do you only get it if you finish the season at the highest level? Would be really nice to get it early and then take a week or few off. :-D
seggy@seggyAny estimates on how much damage he’ll do when he’s been brought up to Level 10 or 12? Assuming a Level 50 party and a weapon/offhand set? (Y’all know what I mean, I don’t remember the proper terminology or math :P )
seggy@seggy@mvnla2 For the Golden Pig in the clouds I’ve used Paladin (Dragonbreath), Wizard (the Resurrection one), and a friend’s Sea Dog twice now and barely got scratched. I keep use Sea Dog’s followup ability on Paladin as much as possible, and Paladin’s healing has been enough to keep everyone afloat — especially when you toss a Chili down Wizard’s throat. I waited until the 2nd to last wave before using the Chilis, just because the earlier waves aren’t too hard; usually one if not both of the GPs will be weak. On the final wave, I just make sure to have Paladin protect anybody that the GP’s about to hit.
And yay, got my Illusionist with 24 hours to spare. Level 2 now, hopefully I can get him a quick 12K on the wheel at the end of the event.
seggy@seggyIt could just have been the luck of the draw, but it definitely reminded me of him nearly always (don’t wanna say 100%, but it’s possible) attacking Red in the daily Golden Pig fights. I’ve got another hour and a half before I can try again, I’ll go in with Paladin and Wizard and hopefully a 3rd bird this time. Cannoneer would be good, drop his attack power while still throwing a decent punch.
Glad to hear he drops 10LC, I didn’t notice and was kinda cheesed off to think that the reward was only a snoutling wheel!
seggy@seggyIs there a method to who Golden Pig attacks? Played the cloud levels yesterday with just Paladin and Wizard (didn’t know I could take a 3rd bird) and it wasn’t too hard. I probably used 1 Rage Chili and a potion, the healing from Paladin was usually enough to keep me going.
I was just wondering because it seemed like my Paladin was the only one ever attacked, at least by the final boss in the cloud, and thinking about the old daily Golden Pig fights, it seems like he always attacked Red in those levels, too.
Looking forward to using 3 birds next time I play, but if I know he’s only going to attack Paladin, I won’t really need to worry about how weak my other birds are defensively.
seggy@seggyCan someone please let me know what the blueprint awarded for beating Holy Pools 10 was? It was a bow for Blues that looked like it was made with a ruler, and probably has an attack value of 424. I’m looking for the name, stats, and the ingredients needed to craft it. It’s already gone from my inventory after getting a different bow blueprint in Pig Porch 5. Thanks for any help!
seggy@seggyOkay, gave another shot at 3-starring the 15th minimap level, beat it without too much trouble — but man Pigiana Jones really hits hard! It was much smoother when I only had to face 1 giant ice pig in the first wave, rather than 3 of ’em. :-/
Ended up using Paladin, Rainbird, and Tricksters. Tricksters being the key by always taking out Pigiana’s auto-retaliate. KillerKea’s suggestion of Paladin/Lightning Bird/Sea Dog didn’t work for me here, but makes easy work of the Castle and all of the new cave levels (except the bosses), so thanks for that!
seggy@seggyAny recommendations for Level 15? I haven’t gotten less than 3 stars playing any level until now (Paladin, Wizard, Spies), and I just got blown away before reaching Wave 3. Wizard and Spies were even equipped with their resurrection sets. It was a massacre, I tell ya!
seggy@seggyYeah, I was hoping for a little time off before the 2nd league started up instead of being thrust right back into the grind. Feeling that fatigue. Going back to 75 points as a maximum award for winning a battle just feels brutal, although I expected everyone to return back to the beginning.
seggy@seggyAnybody have a really good trio that includes Thunderbird? Preferably one without Paladin, Samurai, or Pirate, since I already have those at 10.
Knight + Thunderbird + Cleric has probably been about 95% successful for me, it just doesn’t seem to go as quickly as other combos. And if I don’t use Thunderbird’s Phoenix set to revive him when he somehow manages to kill himself, the success rate probably drops to 50% — not worth the time. The plus side is the combo makes use of Knight and Cleric, since I never use either with any other auto-play combo.
Also, anybody know of a good Guardian or Avenger combo? Guardian’s so weak, and it seems like Avenger would be difficult to auto-play, since he’s most effective when beaten up a bit but not on the brink of dying, and I can’t imagine the AI being able to walk that line.
seggy@seggyOr when there’s 1 enemy left on the screen, and instead of just attacking him, Skulkers calls his secondary power (Tricksy Trick) on himself, so he only attacks with 35% power.
seggy@seggyI especially like how the AI makes my Sea Dog cast his followup attack on a bird who has already taken his turn. This actually makes it worse than not using it at all and just attacking instead, and he does it 100% of the time.
seggy@seggySamurai + Priestess + Marksmen also served me well autoplaying all of SRC. I stopped once I got them all to level 9 so that I could work on my other birds.
Now using the suggestion from @crumpledstori, Rainbird + Druid + Tricksters, and it’s been working very well.
This in addition to my original Paladin + Wizard + Pirate, which was my most effective combo.
Anybody got any others that work well, especially using birds I haven’t listed yet?
Recap so far:
Paladin + Wizard + Pirate
Paladin + Wizard + Sea Dog (Razorblade @razorblade)
Paladin + Wizard + Skulkers (Angry Johnny @angryjohnny)
Paladin + Captain + Skulkers (KillerKea @killerkea)
Paladin + Captain + Tricksters (LottieAbe @czcalvert)
Samurai + Priestess + Marksmen
Knight + Thunderbird (w/ Phoenix set) + Cleric
Mage + Captain + Spies (Best with healing weapons for Mage & Cap)
Rainbird + Druid + Tricksters (CrumpledStorie @crumpledstori)
Wizard + Bard + Sea Dog (Jim151 @jim151)
Wizard + Bard + Tricksters (Wiz w/ healing item) (KerrAvon @kerravon)
Wizard + Captain + Spies (Equip Wiz & Cap w/ healing items) (KerrAvon @kerravon)
seggy@seggyYep, crash took away all those points I had gotten for winning, and the 3 birds that leveled up as a result are back down to their original levels. And I didn’t even do anything, because I didn’t want to risk a crash. The game was just sitting there open, and boom. Ridiculous.
seggy@seggyWhew, finally logged back in. 1st place with 940 points, got 6000 All, and 6000 for Matilda and Chuck on my first spin. Probably would’ve preferred getting it for Blues and Bomb instead, but I’ll take it.
Now to see if I can keep it or a crash takes it all away. :)
seggy@seggyCrashed 3 minutes before the end of the event, with me in 1st place, and now I can’t log in to see my standing.
About 50 minutes ago they said they were going to disable the event to avoid further complications with their ongoing server maintenance. No comment if they’re going to give out any rewards at all. They should give *everybody* who played even once the 3-star spins on the reward wheel.
seggy@seggySame, lost all my progress after 3 750-point wins and 1 500-point victory. Least they could’ve done was given me back the Stamina Drinks that I used on them so that I could work on rebuilding. :-|
seggy@seggyOn iPad. Getting Tamiflu ads that play a 30-second video that you can’t quit, then they just sit there when they’re done in a small corner of the screen, never taking you to the battle. Only option is to force quit the app. This is some serious crap, I’ve been lucky not to have it screw me in the Arena battles so far, but this has happened 3 times now.
seggy@seggyAnybody aware of a good SRC auto-play trio which includes Samurai? Need to get him from level 8 to 10.
seggy@seggyWell, I just got leapfrogged because my 3000 point objective is “Win 5 battles with Thunderbird!” Yeahhh great, I don’t even own Thunderbird yet. :-/
I don’t mind this whole PvP thing, it’s a little diversion while there are no new events or caves and the rest of my play consists of grinding away on auto-play to level up my birds. Especially since it doesn’t affect the main game at all, because I haven’t spent a dime on the game yet, and definitely won’t be spending any of my scarce LC for the arena.
@filthycasual I don’t know how exactly long it takes to reset your opponents, or if shutting down the game and re-opening will do it, but just now I backed out of a highly unfavorable matchup, did some SRC auto-play grinding for 30 or 40 minutes (pretty sure it was under an hour, at least), and had a new opponent waiting for me in the arena.
seggy@seggy@dr_ishmael @calvinjj2009 I just took a look myself. The regular ninjas and the like are still 258 for the normal levels. But for Volcano Island, it was definitely increased. I didn’t have to switch out weapons at all. I think it was 314, but I can’t check having already played it.
Thankfully, too, ’cause I had stopped playing Volcano Island each week just because it was such a hassle switching out birds and weapons.
seggy@seggyEarly on I got Bard right after Paladin and used it a ton because she was really powerful. I never got my Golden Chili until I was midway through the Caves and had the spare Lucky Coins — I never really missed it.
Now that we have Events and the arena, though, I’d really recommend getting the Chili, because it makes it so much easier to get through them quickly. And the events are the easiest way to rack up lots of Mastery Points for all your birds, especially the ones you hardly ever use in combat.
tl;dr — Get the Chili :)
seggy@seggy@calvinjj2009 Cool, thanks for the info! I couldn’t tell if they were less powerful or not, but the fact that the little guys went from dodging anything over 258 or so to now dodging anything over something like 314 means I don’t have to equip myself with weak weapons just to play it now. :)
seggy@seggyMastery Points needed for next level are now displaying correctly again for me.
