I couldn’t get past The Holidays Are Coming! Level 2 and it only has two rounds! Rovio just pushed an update and I was able to three-star it just now.
I also refuse to use potions because that would mean needing to grind for elements.
Hopefully they also fixed the dungeons because that has been my main source of snouts.

I’m level 70 but max mastery 62 and I’m getting SMOKED in the new event and in the dungeons. I have mastery level 62 sets and decent number of shards on each set, but it isn’t enough for the level 70 opponents. Any advice? My days of grinding are over and if I can’t beat anything anymore even with my strong birds, I think my Epic days are, too.

With the changeover from bird max level 12 to 60, I’m finding that I can still power up my level 60 birds. I can still buy powerups for them in the Mighty Eagle Dojo. Some birds are nearing the top of level 60 and I’m worried what could happen when they get there. Has anyone else maxed out the level one higher than than current max (60)?

Is anyone else playing against zero-level pigs in the first three Halloween screens (Halloween 1, 2, and 3)?
My Epic update hit after I had started the Halloween event, and now all of the pigs could be blown over with a feather. One hit with Rainbird and they are all defeated. This wasn’t the case before the update. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same. This may be one of the easiest (but boring) events if it holds up!

iPhone 5, latest iOS installed. I’m getting the “Loading balancing into memory…” hangup problem, and I have never had ANY trouble with game updates.
Apple just pushed a new iOS update (9.3.4), but that wouldn’t explain Android issues.

Stevie- I’m in Team Chuck 83 but I’m playing Team Red 12. My handle is LuckyDucky.
We were way ahead yesterday but our studs stopped after 10K and now the other team has someone who just jumped up to 20K. So my team is now losing, but only by about 5000 points.

Has anyone had this problem with Chuck’s shield disappearing? I was scrapping unwanted GPM items and something went wrong. Chuck appears without his shield now in all places of the game where his items are visible, so I don’t know if his shield is impacting his gameplay or not. If I click on the shield tab for reviewing Chuck’s items, it shows no items and freezes every time so that I have to reboot.
I have tried rebooting and restarting the phone, but that has no effect.
I have reported to Rovio – just wondering if anyone else has seen it.

My experience with these events is that slow and steady wins the race. Just log in every three hours or so and spend down your stamina. I’ve finished first in my league the last 5 or so challenges and I don’t do anything special. If you have a lot of FE, you can use it to spin until you get the maximum points. For this challenge, it is purely a new class gaining event for me, so I don’t really care where I finish in the league.
I’m in 4th place now with 1325 points and just three starred all of the rounds open for today. Still need three Christmas Balls. First place is only 1800 points and most of my competition is Level 48-50, so it may be an active league. I’ve thought that before and it hasn’t been the case though. Just slow and steady…

I also have been doing ABE with no FB friends. I’ve tried setting up an account just for Epic, but couldn’t get it to work. I have less than 100 FE, but that hasn’t prevented me from taking first place in the last several special events. I have three birds that are level 12 and most of the rest are 11s – a few 10s and the newer Chuck and Witch are I think 7 and 5.

Partshade – tell me about it! On the harder levels where there are two prizes on the wheel, once I had to respin four times because the two prizes were on the way left and right. Unhappy camper…

I’m also ranked #1 with 26K points and #2 has 17K and third at 9K. I have to brag a bit and say that I hit 4 in a row ectoplasm rolls today and 5 of 7 in that streak. Then I needed one more and it took me 6 plays, but now I’m good until the next gate opens. I’m still playing to ramp up my birds because most are on the verge of upgrading to level 11.

My solution to 13: Paladin, Cannoneer, Princess
Attack with Princess first to make all enemy attacks go against Paladin. Cannoneer buffs Paladin to make Paladin counterattack. Paladin’s attack also heals and can do damage to multiple enemies. Princess takes off the big ghost’s spell. Big ghost calls additional minions, but Cannoneer’s Explode takes care of them all. Easy peasy.

The Ectoplasm round is no pushover! I lost a bird in Halloween-11 (you can’t use Red). Halloween-12 was easy, but I had to cancel out of Halloween-13 due to a high HP ghost (18K I think ) along with multiple small ghost minions. Big ghost calls additional small ghosts, so if you don’t knock him out you’ll have a screen full of opponents! (I had some that I couldn’t see on my phone screen.) And then you don’t have enough attacks to take them all out. You need a powerful team to take down the strong big ghost, a healer to remove slime, along with Bomb to clear out the smaller ghosts with a chili. 13 also has Tranquil Air that makes your chili fill more slowly.

I surpassed 1000 stars and got the advanced pig machine. As luck would have it, I had a video free spin at the same time and got a set item. This morning I got another video free spin and got another set item (one of the new ones)! So I’m two-for-two on the advanced pig machine with be video free roll. I had one free roll using McCool and got the same old junk.

I haven’t seen any level 11 bird opponents yet. It’s probably about time that honest players are leveling up to 11. But the lack of 11s and only level 12 is telling!

If you haven’t noticed by now, success in the Arena means you move up to play stronger opponents. Look when your objectives reset in a few hours and your first team will be in the 700/800s power score. Those are the easiest fights (so try to complete your hardest objectives first). After you win there, your next opponent will be stronger. So by continued winning, you eventually get to face the strongest teams which have the 12-ranked birds. So in a way, you’re a victim of your own success. That doesn’t mean these teams don’t come from cheaters though – just explains the process. I’ve found two related things:
1) If you close out of ABE entirely and stay inactive for a while, when you reload it later a lot of times you’ll face a weaker team.
2) You can “strategically lose” to face a weaker team (say, you only have one objective left and not much time) because losing will mean you face a weaker team next.

I need 13 more white wool to top off my items. I started out hitting 3 of my first 5 and thought getting 25 would be a breeze. But since then my hit rate has been less than 20%. I’m not using any FE so what I spin is what I keep.

It happens to me regularly. I click on the video icon thingy and it depresses, but doesn’t play the vid. Maybe after 4-5 times it will finally play. I’ve rebooted and then it plays. There was also an issue with a Liberty Media vid a few weeks ago looking scrambled and sometimes crashing (and therefore not giving the free spin). They seem to have dramatically lowered the odds of getting a set item, too.

Watch for Runblocked. He came out of nowhere a few days ago and is in first in my league. I had been in third, on Friday but now in 5th and 20K less than first. It is possible that these guys are grinding tons of hours, but I suspect they are resetting their objectives. Is that still possible? I admit I tried figuring out how to do that today but had no luck. I’be played honestly, but I can’t advance past gold, so if it’s he only way to advance and Rovio won’t fix it…

The Knock Out emblem in the arena also appears to happen more than the 30% probability noted in the description. The emblem description also says knock outs will be for one turn, but I just lost Red in one battle for three turns (and consequently lost the battle).
Also, I know the coin toss odds have been discussed on here ad nauseum, but they seem to be even more “streaky” than before. I won the flip probably 12 times in a row last night and lost 8 in a row today. Maybe on some intergalactic scale the flips are even and follow normal heads/tails odds. But from what I see with my rolls, the odds are pretty funky. I understand that it may work out to be more even with higher numbers of rolls (I took graduate level stats classes), but you don’t see real life coin flips that behave like what you see on ABE.

Another thing about the arena being easier is that you don’t need to be strategic anymore – just blow through opponents with the same brute teams. To advance now, one needs to prepare to spend a lot of time cranking through battles. I missed one day due to travel this last week, and I’m in 10th place but by way more than one day’s objectives points. One nice thing is that I don’t get near the number of ads as before. The only one I seem to get is for AB2.

Just had my first experience with the 5x odds in the daily objectives. I did the high-value golden pig riot – both in the arena (3+1 rolls) and regular game (5+1 rolls). I got zero set items, but I did get three silver goblets in the arena rolls. So I’ve got that going for me (he said facetiously). It does work, but 5x odds didn’t get me much for the coin spent.
