@ramonpontesI tried Blaster a few times, with all accessories and he is just average. I can’t kill swarms of flying pigs with him. He can handle some, but 50-60 is far from reality for him.
I continue with Ultimate Megatron and Dead End as my preferred bots. I usually reach the 4th node with them. The next bot usually finish the run.

@ramonpontesI’ve spent 2500 gems to unlock the 5th slot in the spark run a few days ago, and I was in a rush to collect at least 500 gems for this event.
I’m glad I could earn them in time. Sunstreaker was offered for 500 gems again, so I could get him without the competition.
Now I,m playing for his accessories, but I don’t feel the urge to collect them all at this time.I don’t like the constant “fast forward” mode in this event. Specially with Dead End. I can’t aim properly both shots on different targets.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI also took the 500 gems bundle. It was a very hard decision, I had to think about 3 whole seconds before I clicked to gladly spend those gems.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesCongratulations! Anything above 300k is remarkable. I’ve got extreme luck to obtain that result.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI’ve reached level 35, and I have spent three recharges.
But I got more gems than I spent (about 250), and many tokens (about 11k tokens). This was without any doubts worth even if I had spent more gems, but I quit after level 35. This was an instant overpower for my Ultimate Megatron, so I was more than happy.
I don’t know in which level the rewards started to be reasonable, but there is a point where it is very rewarding, but it never repeated with me again.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesToo many lost sparks.
Listen to @asen and focus on Energon Grimlock for now.
You need two bots to play some events, so choose a second and promote him after the first one reach at least gold crown.
I advise you to choose a bot that is able to destroy blocks easily, so you can pair up those two when he event allow you to choose a second bot.
Since you don’t have event bots yet, the second bot could be Soundwave or Ultimate Megatron, that can be acquired through the map. The first is good without accessories, and the second requires the Armada and Flail accesories to bost the radius and gives corrosive damage. UM is also very good against flying pigs in the late stages of the Spark Run, so I recommend to get him.

@ramonpontes+1 vote for Blaster
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesYesss!!!
This is my very best score in the Spark Run!
Level: 160
Final Score: 321.024
Reward: 1690 Sparks
Just for info, I had the 560% bonus from 4 fully promoted bots.
The order was:
1 – Ultimate Megatron
2 – Dead End
3 – Energon Grimlock
4 – Soundwave
I could resist a bit more with UM, but I sacrificed him to kill the mortar towers appearing on the stage. After that, Dead End did a good job with the remaining strong enemies. The other two resisted enough to reach the astrotrain, but I was aiming to the best score, not avoid being hit.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesWell, thanks for the coments. I think I will give it a try. Actually I’m using Soundwave, but just because I promoted him first. I will make a test run with Blaster.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesA question about blaster: How he performs against swarms of flying pigs? And about mortar towers, can he kill any?
I’m talking about high level spark runs, I think it is hard for him to surpass Dead End.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI also wanted to overpower UM. I was very lucky on the Shockwave tower today! I reached level 35, and got 11k token. I hit the pig twice, but I got about 250 gems also, so I didn’t lost anything at all.
I don’t know why I stopped, I could have continued until the next pig. But I could use the tokens to overpower UM and I still have 7500 tokens left. I will get the second overpower, and maybe the sparks at the end.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI’m finished with this event since yesterday. I don’t even want to exchange tokens for coins.
I don’t think it is a bad thing to change the mechanics of the events sometimes, but there are only a few bots that are really effective in this kind of event.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI’m glad I need only two accessories. I’ll get those and the sparks and I’m out.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI have 4 fully promoted bots, and my effectiveness rank is the following:
1 – Dead End
2 – Ultimate Megatron
3 – Energon Grimlock
4 – SoundwaveDead End is really effective in the spark run because he can be assaulted by many groups of flying pigs and survive. If the flying pigs don’t appear, he can almost finish the run alone.
Between UM and EGL, I prefer UM, even after the nerfing, because he can kill the majority of the blocks without too much effort, and while shooting a WMT he can cause damage to near blocks/enemies. He also can take down flying pigs more effectively. With EGL we have to constantly aim for the targets.
I use my bots in the exact order above, the most effective first, and the least effective at the end. My target is scoring. If I use a weak bot first, I will not be able to kill some enemies, and I will not reach a good scoring. If the run is an easy one (without too many flying pigs), I will not be able to use the last and most efficient bot.
Also, on level 160 there is no point boarding the astrotrain. There is no extra bonus for reaching the end of the run, so I just care about scores.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesLots of bots to overpower in my case, but none of them is of my interest.
I want to buy the saber for Energon Optimus Prime, but I made a mistake. I put one of my promoted bots in a 24 hours mission, and I noticed I have only Energon Grimlock promoted for this event. I cannot use my other promoted bots, because they are not available.
This will cap my score on day one, but it costs 5.000 tokens, so it is still reachable.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI could unlock Hound and two accessories. I had about 230 tokens left, so I decided to buy the Cristmas hat, but a bug happened.
The item is sold on the event page, but when I move to the character accessories page, I don’t own the hat.
I’m glad this didn’t happened to the most expensive items, but I will still open a ticket to Rovio to complain.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI always stop at level 5. I only continue if the gems I earned compensates the amount I have to pay to continue.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI finished day four in first. I used 5 recharges, but the main reason was to reach the 500 token threshold. I need 100 tokens to get the new bot now. I should reach it in the next few runs.

The normal (map) characters are unlocked when you open a certain area on the map by raising your level. Each character you upgrade gives you one level. After reaching the area, you must release the bot using pigs. This works until level 175. After that, there is no more character on the map to be freed.
The new area is an exception. First you have to gain access to the island using Plasma. You can obtain plasma through daily quests, and buy on events. After that, you must collect bats (instead of pigs) to unlock Nautica, the other new character. Bats can be obtained mainly with cave runs and daily quests.
The event characters can be obtained only through events (of course). They usually are available on the token exchange, and can be earned with money too. Your level don’t affect this at all, so you don’t need a high level to obtain those characters (but it is so much harder with low level bots to perform well on events).
Definitely you don’t have to spend money to get everything, but it is very time consuming, and you must be very patient. I have all bots so far (with the exception of the one from the current event), and I have not upgraded everyone to level 15 yet. Everything I earned so far was for free, I have not spent a single cent in the game.
EDIT: Just to complement the information, there will still be a huge clouded area, that is not developed yet. So basically, you will run out of the option to “Explore” a new area after level 175.

@ramonpontes@datguygamer
There is really no limit for this. They will sometimes even un-nerf those bots, just to nerf them again.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI’ve promoted Jazz to gold crown for this event, so I’m getting a decent bonus. One first and two second places so far. I will get the new bot before the last day, so probably I will have tokens for some accessories.
@fortressmaximus
I have to disagree with you. For a very long time I used only Shieldor to protect me against falling monoliths when I was fighting Unicron, but it only helped me in this case.
I keep this strategy when I can use two bots, because I can use one to focus on blocks and another to focus on strong enemies.
When I have the option to use only one bot, I choose Dead End or Energon Grimlock. They are very good, but I can miss many blocks, specially when I have to focus on big targets. Glassor help me clear the screen, and against Unicron, I can focus on him, while Glassor destroy everything else. On the long run, Glassor help me more than Shieldor in this case.
In the case Optimuspig was referring, even shieldor would be useless. The monoliths would not let you shoot on targets behind them.

@ramonpontesThe rule is: If you have the tokens, spend it on the upgrade. If you don’t have enough, don’t complete it with gems, unless you really really needs just a few.
The first upgrade (Lvl 1 to Lvl 2) costs 50 tokens. That means 25 gems for an upgrade that costs 1.000 coins and 1 minute. That sounds a good deal to you?
Another example is the cost of the Sparks. If don’t have tokens, and you’re going to buy the biggest canister with gems, you would spend 600 gems for 1500 sparks. With those gems, you could pay for 6 additional spark runs. If you can get more than 250 tokens per run, it is much better than buying tokens.
Of course, if you already have tokens and need just to complete the quota, you must analise if it is worth, but usually I just exchange a few gems.

@ramonpontesSame here. I don’t see any difference between level 14 to level 15, I think the same applies to the difference between level 15 to 16. But I can see difference between level 5 and level 15. I think that the difference will be noticeable only if you raise several levels.
I’ve overpowered some bots that I really don’t play, to level 16. I like to send the to the hard missions, to raise the chances of getting all items there without watching ads. But I really only overpower some bot if there is nothing else I want from the event.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesThere are two options here: a hack or a glitch.
In either case I would open a ticket to Rovio. Last time I did it they said that they removed the cheating player. Of course there is no way I can confirm that, but I didn’t see him after that on my leaderboard.
If this is a glitch, the player that was affected should also open a ticket to prevent any unfair punishment.
ramonpontes
@ramonpontesI don’t have any promoted bot fro the bonus squad. I have all the other accessories, so I can either go for sparks, or choose to overpower one bot. I will just keep monitoring my progress to decide.
Nemesis Prime is quite good against blocks and TNT day, but I always feel cheated when I see those huge scores right in the beginning of the game. We can only assume they have a hig promoted bot and have used lots of recharges already.
