It’s really unfortunate that Rovio has forgotten their die hard original fans/supporters who’ve been playing their core games since the original Angry Birds…..Seasons, Space, Rio, Star Wars, etc.

@kathy, I wish I remembered how I did it, but it’s too long ago. I’ll be 59 in December & CRS hits hard with things like this. Other than the fact those numbers represent the levels, I’m clueless as to how I got the book filled.

@sumobro, I wholeheartedly agree. Thousands upon thousands of players were left with unused items they’d purchased, i.e. Arena Tickets, Ship Energies & Binoculars that could only be used in Events.

A responsible company would recognize they have a fiduciary responsibility to their players who are paying to play. Just as they’ve now formally announced the end of the game in November, this 3 month notice should have been provided before the end of the Monster Pig Events & Arenas so that players, who are also consumers had a chance to use the items they purchased.

@tomt, Rovio has said the game is open & I’m 99.99% sure I saw an email from someone on the AB Fight Pro FB page that said no decision had been made as to the game. The Daily Challenges are still running with the 5-Gems awarded at the end of 7 days.

@vmicho, I presume their software coding ended Events with the last one & those who write their game codes really are focused on other/newer games. Personally, I believe they have very limited staff & those people are enhancing new games & correcting errors in the new & other games. They’re only human & can’t work on Fight plus the new game like Battle Bay.

I hoped that once Battle Bay took off they’d restart the Fight Events but it’s been 2 weeks. Let’s hope seeing player refund (pressure) from Apple & probably Google restart Fight. I REALLY belive that Rovio forgets or doesn’t realize that people who pay to play aren’t just players, they are consumers who should be protected from unethical business practices. I think shutting down the Monster Pig Event/Raid & Arena (that some people save/hoard Items to use) is an unethical business practice. I’ve read too many people reference the fact they’ve saved purchased Gems & Arena Tickets. I’m going to send Rovio a follow-up to my query two weeks ago, so we’ll see if there’s any clarity. So far from what I’m reading they’ve replied to others I/we still won’t get an actual answer.

Edited to add: I read 1 player on the AB Fight Pro FB page, a 70yr old was so negatively vocal on a Rovio page (warning new players not to spend any money because of the way Rovio has treated Fight & other players,) that they removed her comment(s)/post & she’s not unable to post on that page. I don’t think she’s exaggerating, I believe her.

@tomt, not 100% sure, but I presume Apple agrees with customers/players….then again, it has to be charged back to Rovio, so it won’t be Apple that loses the revenue. I really hope A LOT of players receive refunds & it impacts how Rovio & other game companies handle the cessation of Events like we had in Fight. I still have quite a lot or Arena Tickets & will give Rovio another week or so before requesting a refund as their reply to Events say & I’m paraphrasing, “not now,” vs “never again.”

There are a lot of very angry players on the AB Fight FB Pro page/group & apparently Apple agrees with them as to how Rovio has handled this because refunds for in App purchase are being issued. There may only be a small group complaining about how Rovio handled this, but it would seem Apple listens better to their customers. I think some Google players are requesting refunds.

Perhaps this will impact how Rovio & other developers handle their decisions to stop running Events for which players use in App purchases to participate.

@bamoonie, it looks like they’re going to let it die. There’s a group on FB, Angry Birds Fight Pro & a number of ppl sent Rovio emails about the fact there was no Monster Pig Event. Rovio made it VERY clear there are no plans to add new islands or new content, but they were less clear about the Events, only saying they aren’t running them now, leaving many to speculate.

Opening the 20-Gem Slot the other day I also got 4 Ship Energy & for those downloading the game to start on a new device there’s a Starter package for sale with Binoculars & Arena Tickets, so it’s confusing. Selling that with items that could never be used could be illegal if they aren’t ever going to restart either Event, at least offering something for sale that you knowingly can’t provide should be illegal.

@napmaster, I too opened the 20-Gem Slot since I had some Gems saved (was saving for SP item) & noticed the those Ship Energy. I have more Binoculars than I could ever use. It’s just confusing….why would they offer Starter or Jump Start package to new players with Binoculars & Arena Tickets if they’re not going to start them back up? It would almost be fraudulent…luring ppl in knowing you can’t or won’t provide what they’re to be used for.

@tomt, there were some active threads yesterday on AB Fight FB Pro. A number of us contacted Rovio & received replies that left a question as to whether the cessation of Events were permanent. Interestingly, a new account can still purchase a Gem starter package with Binoculars & Arena Tickets. Does it mean Events will start up or was this package never removed? Yesterday at least, the game was still available for download & Rovio said the game was still running (paraphrase)

@bamoonie, there was 1 time, months ago during/after the DDoS attack here in the US, that the 5-Gem appeared to be free (but wasn’t) & the 20-Gem was inaccessible.

From my experience & some other players’ responses, Rovio refunded the 5 Gems when requested.

The inability to open some Slots during a Quest Event was apparently tied to an update.

Things have been running well for most of us, until of course yesterday when Rovio stopped the Pig Raid & Arena Events.

I did read a response about Events that said they “do not have any plans to continue them for now.” That’s sort of open ended. It could mean they may consider starting them back up.

@tomt, I’m still playing but there must have been a lot fewer in Stella Arena because I easily got Top 2000….Remember, I’m only an average player

Interesting that there’s no Event today. I sent them an inquiry as to whether it’s an error or the end of the game, so we’ll see what they say. The fact that Daily Challenge started on time suggests that the non Event was an error.

@christian-cosgrove, don’t worry, the next Event (Arena) hasn’t started yet. I expect or believe it starts 4:00am (or 5:00am) EST here in the USA.

I’m hoping for some input from better players as to which of my panel increasers I should use since I have 2 to chose from. I have a variety of weapons, defense & life items to chose from, but for me & the way I play I do best in Arenas when using the panel items for my the Bird, so for my Arenas I use:

Attack-boost increased when “Bird” panels are matched, Defense-boost increased when “Bird” panels are matched & increases the “Bird” appearance rate.

Well this morning on iPad when I found my 1st Pig I noticed another Pig needing help so I obviously thought it was fixed, but no…………. it’s not fixed. I’m now playing on iPhone needing help with a Super Pig & all I get is the blank blue screen. At least last night it was the “now loading icon” so it appeared it was trying to reach the Server, now when hitting the “ask everyone” it’s not even trying. The blank blue screen immediately pops up.

@deindiaan, you’re most certainly not alone! While I’m no where near lvl 40 Pigs (I only work during our Tax Season from January to mid April, so I’m playing less), I too need help when Rovio throws those occasional horrible boards where there’s nothing to match when facing a Super Pig. Why is it those really really terrible Boards with literally very few matches don’t appear when facing the much weaker regular (green) Pigs?

It’s after 10:00pm here, so it may be time to stop playing while this works itself out.

It would also be nice if they expanded the merge past 5*. It’s been over a year & a half since worldwide release and after lots of Slot openings I have quite a few 5* plus dups I’m holding onto in case they expand past 5*. For example, I have 5* Marie Wig & 2 more merged but obviously not enhanced. it’s the same with Shuriken.

If they want to keep us interested, they’ve got to keep updating by adding Islands & Lab levels & expand the level cap. If not, I suspect those nasty rumors about shutting down the game will once again begin. Remember, it was after weeks of speculation about them pulling the plug on the game that ended with the last Island update. I guess it could have been a coincidence, but I don’t think so.

It’s hard to keep me interested in the Slot when I have those extra Marie Wig, Shuriken, Mafia Hat, etc that are just wasted SS items as they’re already 5*.

@keepcool, good idea, some newbies may find it useful, but I’d like to add…

I’ve been playing since worldwide release in the summer of 2015 & I think the 1st bullet as to how to earn Arena Tickets needs to be corrected. I’ve never used Facebook & I get the Daily Login Bonuses (3 Tickets every 6 hrs or 4x a day) without being logged into Facebook.

You may also want to add that there is a maximum # of Tickets which can be kept in Arena. In my experience it’s 12, so if someone has not played & has 12 Tickets, they won’t get the Daily Login Bonus Tickets. Once the player plays a few rounds gets the Tickets down to 9, the Login Bonus will credit the 3 Tickets.

For the same reason, it’s important NOT to empty the Arena Tickets from Gem purchases or Daily Challenges out of the Gift Box into the Arena. It would be a waste if the Login Bonus Tickets can’t be credited because of the # of Tickets in the Arena.

When I started playing in the summer of 2015, the SS Arena prize was only Top 500, not Top 2000 & with starting equipment, it was impossible to get into Top 500, so I accumulated my Arena Tickets in my Gift Box. When I had good Bird equipment, I’d use or move 5 or 10 Arena Tickets out of my Gift Box into the Arena so as to not lose the 4 sets of Daily Login Bonus Tickets.

@deindiaan, not this iPhone. The old iPhone was replaced under warranty. The progress transferred to this one. I’m assuming because there were no points on this phone’s account ID that I had 0 points.

I’ve played a few Pigs on iPad & although they show in Log as wins, the points aren’t being added to the points I started with….bugged doesn’t begin to describe this

It’s very odd. My iPad starts with about 1/2 the points from the previous Event with all prizes awarded in Gift Box, but my iPhone started with 0 points as it should & after my 1st small Pig my 11 points has me ranked at 208422. I’ll never get Top 2000 this way….LOL

I hope they’re over. I thought they were horrible. I’m thinking Rovio wanted us to spend Gems to continue the play, but the prizes were terrible. I really can’t see experienced players spending Gems for only a chance to win a useless S or SS item, after all, we know from our Slot experiences that Rovio has the results skewed to produce A items disproportionately to their appearance rate.

@gabe-nestor I definitely know what it’s like to need those panel increasers. I’ve been playing on iPad & iPhone since the worldwide release & I still need the Perfume Bottle on iPad. Until 2 weeks ago, I also needed Curry Pot on both iPad & iPhone but a week & a half ago, I finally got it on iPhone …….. just in time for the Arena ?.

As we know, Rovio has added so much garbage to the Slot that it’s almost impossible to get these panel increaser treasures, but 2 days ago, I also got VERY lucky again on iPad when I finally got the Curry Pot. After a year & a half of needing the Curry Pot on both devices I got 1 on each device within 9 days of each other.

I know you’ll eventually get those Poker Cards.

I wish you a lot of luck with the Exclusive Slot. I HATE it! I think it’s a big rip off. When it 1st started, I don’t know how many times I tried on iPad & iPhone…maybe 2 dozen or more tries over 3-4 months. I’d bought some Gems after 4 or 5 months of playing, so I had a lot more than the ones we earn. Out of all those Exclusive Slot openings on both devices I think I had a whopping total of 3 SS items including a Shuriken or Rockstar Glasses & more than 1/2 of those Exclusive Slot were A items, hence my rip off conclusion. I hope you have better luck with your Exclusive Slot.

I literally almost fell off the couch Sunday when I saw the Curry Pot as the 3rd of 4 items in the 20-Gem Slot on iPad. I’m only an average player, so I really needed it for Top 2000 in the Arena. I normally only play for the 5 Gems in the Arena, but because the Golden Magma Shield was going to give me a big boost in HP I really wanted it for these Monster Pig Events.

The Angry Birds Gods were looking out for me when I opened those 20-Gem Slots, so I’m now sending my luck your way.

@tomt, I think the 2015 Christmas Glasses for Matilda looked just like Red’s Reindeer Glasses except Matilda’s are green & Red’s are blue. They have clearly run out of creative ideas. I don’t know why they don’t turn to the fan base here for suggestions. I don’t know how creative the ABN Fight players are, but years ago for other ABN game forums, I saw some really creative ideas from a lot of players.

I had to look twice at the 2017 Glasses, just like you I thought they said 2007, but of course it made no sense.

One thing I noticed with this new design or animation is that when beating the Pig it seems to sink a lot faster & more smoothly than past events. Have you noticed that?

@deindiaan & @tomt, I think last year’s (2015) ended around Christmas, but heck it could have been 1st of the year. It was the 0* Christmas Glasses for Matilda & I’m pretty sure it was the 10000 point prize. Fully enhanced to 3* is a whopping 166 HP. I’m still using it on my iPad for Matilda, but have Mascarade for iPhone.
