Interesting that there’s no Event today. I sent them an inquiry as to whether it’s an error or the end of the game, so we’ll see what they say. The fact that Daily Challenge started on time suggests that the non Event was an error.

I am still playing. There were times in which Rovio would give players one day break between arena and monster events.

Even if Rovio DOES update Fight! again, it would probably be just to add a promotional sticker for Angry Birds 2 or Battle Bay, disguised as a “bug fixes” update. They did that with Bad Piggies and Space recently- why not Fight?

The game was (and should still be) a big success once it was released, but now 2 years later, the excitement has died out due to idea block. Poor Rovio

I wonder if they will ever bring back the monster families. I thought that was pretty cool, where you could collect stones and try slots for other prizes.

I’m still playing or go on Fight! for screenshot the items every time the event starts and anything else.

The game has got boring with uncreative ideas with Monster Pig designs and no new island/Dr. Pig’s lab levels for 10 months(?) now.

I m still playing, but no way as much as I once did, due to boredom with all the same old stuff. But I can guess why there are no events right now.
During the most recent Arena, the rankings showed the usual cheaters… but also a shocking surprise. The top 15 (or so) players, claiming scores of 999999, 999998, 999997, and so on, all flying the Russian flag, with various usernames that were outright statements to Rovio, accusing them of sleeping, telling them to fix the game, admitting cheating, asking to be banned, etc. Then just hours before the event ended, the top 15 bogus scores had disappeared from the rankings. I had been hoping that meant Rovio was going to ‘fix’ the cheating issue, once & for all, but after reading a few of today’s posts, I am not at all hopeful. Sounds like they will just let our beloved birds die a slow, painful death…

@tomt, there were some active threads yesterday on AB Fight FB Pro. A number of us contacted Rovio & received replies that left a question as to whether the cessation of Events were permanent. Interestingly, a new account can still purchase a Gem starter package with Binoculars & Arena Tickets. Does it mean Events will start up or was this package never removed? Yesterday at least, the game was still available for download & Rovio said the game was still running (paraphrase)

@justpast40 Adding to the starter pack info, I hit the 20 Gem Slot yesterday and got my 4 items plus the bonus 4 Ship Energy. The bonus caught me by surprise as no event was going on.

On the flip side, Rovio didn’t offer any Gem Sale during the last event, which is more concerning than the suspension of events.

The last 2 events there was no gem sale anymore… If they need more money for restarting the events I have no problem buying a gem pack…but without these events I’m not going to waste more money on the game.

@napmaster, I too opened the 20-Gem Slot since I had some Gems saved (was saving for SP item) & noticed the those Ship Energy. I have more Binoculars than I could ever use. It’s just confusing….why would they offer Starter or Jump Start package to new players with Binoculars & Arena Tickets if they’re not going to start them back up? It would almost be fraudulent…luring ppl in knowing you can’t or won’t provide what they’re to be used for.

@deindiaan – thanks didn’t realize. I’ve been away from ABF since last summer and came back about 2 weeks ago. Great timing on my part.

@justpast40 – Your points are valid, and make me wonder. From an optimistic point of view, I am hopeful this is just be a hiatus for events in ABF corresponding to the worldwide launch of Battle Bay seven days ago. ABF players are a similar demographics to Battle Bay, so maybe Rovio thinks suspending ABF events will pull more players over. If you’re not spending 12 hours a day fighting Monster Pig Ships, maybe you’ll give Battle Bay a shot.

Fight was my favorite game. I dropped playing others ….now I’m quitting all Rovio games in protest. Why Rovio why? This game was ingenious!!! I’m saddened deeply
