    Awesome tip, thanks!

    Thanks @datguygamer . I’m a little paranoid because we had an issue with another game last year, I lost 6 months of progress. I think it was something to do with the settings in the IOS dedicated facebook section that overrode a manual FB login.

    If you go to the store in ABF, tap each sling and it will explain what they do.

    I’m actually looking forward to getting demoted. I was going to go in and try to raise my scores, but the first time through when FLW cant make it thru wooden balls, and when the pigs have metal balls protecting them, and when the effectiveness of birds/slings seems to change just about every week, it’s no longer enjoyable, or sensible, to waste money on powerups. I’ll still keep playing but if I see levels with those spinning balls, or the sometimes unbreakable drums, I’ll just skip them and wait for the next week. Sadly, I was seriously addicted to ABF, but as the mechanics of the game changed to squeeze more profit out of players, the fun is just about gone.

    For mine, ipad, like many others, it keeps crashing on level 2. The good news is, I’m saving powerups because I’m done. With one to one and a half minutes start time, long load times for each level, and a minimum 20 second pause on the brag screen if I beat someone (and I dont brag so why do I need it?), it’s become more frustrating than fun.

    Thanks. i’ve done a favtory restore on the ipad. Since I dont see it on windows, I’m guessing it’s IOS-specific.

    @sasilik , you’re right about the game behaving differently on PC. There was one level where on IOS, FLW would easily go down, bounce, and get to the top of the other side. On PC it barely made it down. I believe Rovio has rewritten the levels on PC for worse performance in order to drive people away since they dont want to support that platform.

    so tired of whining about powerups. while I do agree that a 2 tier system would be a great idea, I highly doubt rovio will implement it. Rovio is a business. Businesses are formed to make a profit. Without powerups, Rovio’s profits would be marginal, if not nonexistent. Normally I’m very tolerant, but Im fed up with being called a cheater and other names by those who dont wish to buy powerups. P/Us are in no way cheating, or even dishonest in any way at least in ABF. THEY’RE A RECOGNIZED FORMAL PART OF THE GAME. If you want to focus your rage on someone, look at all of the real cheaters, the ones who score more on every level than is possible. Actually, if you’re so frustrated, you should stick with you plan to stop playing. It’s supposed to be a game, and if it’s not fun, then don’t play.

    @dseufert Thanks for the suggestion on bluestacks. I installed it, then removed it before I could even play ABF. It (or I guess the google/android store app) wouldn’t let me uncheck ‘Stay logged in’, which is a security risk. Then when I tried to install ABF, it went to install something called KIK, or KIX. Whatever it was, it wasn’t ABF, and I don’t like misdirection during app installs. I’ll keep on playing ABF on PC via FB, but again, thanks for the suggestions.

    6 months ago or so Rovio started BLATANTLY rigging the game to cause players to use more powerups. Regardless of platform, the game levels should play the same. This week, for example, on ipad lvl 2, FLW goes all the way down and almost all the way to the top on the other side. On PC, FLW barely makes it DOWN, that’s DOWN, to the bottom on the left side. Initially it was fairly easy to figure out. All or most levels had advantages on one platform one week, the next it would usually be a different platform. Now, one level may have an advantage on PC, another on iPad. In case the significance escapes you, seeing scoring above a player on say, level 1, then seeing that other player drastically outscore you on another level, would cause most people to keep using more powerups to try to match or beat that score, assuming they have any competitiveness at all, unless they play on more than one platform and can see the dramatic difference in levels.
    I hate to think how much I’ve spent on AB. An estimate I did a few months ago was shocking. I will not post that amount here, but it was a lot more than I expected. I set a budget on my playing, and every week I would end up having to stop playing because after I bought MORE powerups, and used them, I didn’t want to exceed my budget.
    “Organized” gifting is just having a community of players, much like this one, ABN, in a forum, where we exchange tips, comments, funny stories, and of course, gifts. The other forum to which I belong (with my REAL friends many of whom I know personally) is much like ABN. We also complain about cheaters, of which anyone will admit there are still quite a few. Heck, we even exchange recipes. I shared my heart-attack-on-a-plate, which appropriately for AB, has 3 different pork cuts. So as I said, the other forum to which I belong is very similar to ABN, but its main focus is primarily AB Friends. I see nothing wrong with being able to play a bit longer every week because I get gifts from friends, which is perfectly legal, and Rovio/Facebook ENCOURAGE gifting.

    Here’s a tip from this very site that should help you backup your files, always a good idea just in case.

    How to Transfer Angry Birds Progress Between iOS Devices

    As for the AB GO , I put it back on my ipad, played a few games until I had gotten the first cart almost maxxed out, then pulled out an android I havent used for a while and charged it. After installing AB Go on it, when i started, there was no replication of data between ipad > android. I even tried logging in to facebook but it said I had already authorized the device.
    I also tried signing into Rovio from within AB GO. It asked me if I wanted to transfer my progress, which gave me hope, but apparently it saves it for each device separately. So it looks like, as posted above, that AB GO can’t synch between the two. Unless there’s a 3rd party app out there that could help. Hmm. I think I may look into creating one if there’s none yet.

    Viking,
    I dont play AB EPIC and I had uninstalled AB GO because I got fed up with being spun around on one level every time I was racing the clock, ending up backwards, then not being able to finish. I’ll install AB GO on my ipad and then on an Android device i have and see what happens. I’ll do the same thing with Epic as a test, and let you know. Hopefully I can have this done by Friday, and I’ll post here again.

    Since there are so many blatant cheaters in Angry Birds friends tournament, what I do is each week I play to the best my ability until I think I have the highest score possible. then I come to this website and I check the walk-throughs to see if I missed anything. most of the time I find one or two levels where I can improve my score with a different strategy. after I do that I look at my totals. I assume generally looking at the scores for each level that are advancing a few hundred points or so at a time, but then you get the one that goes up 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000, usually that score and anything above that score is where the cheater’s league starts. i’ve been in diamond for probably two months now but as I said I do as well as I can and then I don’t keep throwing away power ups once I see what the scores are averaging. also I think a good idea for spotting cheaters once I’ve gotten to what I think is the best I can do allowing 10,000 points more per level which would be 50,000 total. scores that have 50,000 or more than I do I would generally consider those to be impossible.
    NOTE: there are some levels that I just don’t like. if I get an average score or a little bit above average score and I don’t like the level, I’ll stop there, so my scores for that one level may bring down my average a little bit, but I also factor that in when I’m figuring total score comparison.
    keep in mind the whole purpose of playing a game is to have fun. if you have fun grinding away doing the same level over and over and over and over, then go for it. don’t look at what other people are doing. don’t let other people’s scores take away your fun.

    I play ABF on an iPad and a PC. my scores are transferred. keep in mind that go and epic may react differently.

    @jkhab69

    update. max score in lvl 5 is 225280, using BQ only .

    Jkhab69
    @jkhab69

    @prf1001 here’s a great example of cheaters in this week’s tournament. On Level five I scored 213330 with three blocks left using one bird. one block is 650 points, which means the max score with one bird is 215280.
    in the Rovio league scoring bar there’s nobody above that score. in my friends bar there are many people already with scores higher than that. I will be going on Facebook and leaving a message on their profiles, telling them why I am dropping them from my friends list. I can’t do anything about their cheating but I can make sure I don’t reward them by giving them free gifts every day.

    @hooksfan ! I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me from so many hours of slinging with the normal trajectory when it seemed like there was a rise. glad someone else thinks so too.

    I would bet that this is the beginning of the end. First they had headcount reduction, then no more support for PC/Mac. Watch, theyll go into profit maximizing mode for the next year, then we’ll see a sudden story that AB has been sold to another company so Rovio can focus on its “core” business.

    Jkhab69
    @jkhab69

    I used to worry about being demoted, but based on many posts, it looks as if league play is actually “leagues” play. If we all were in the same league, whether gold, silver, etc.. then we all would see the same leaders in the same leagues, which we don’t. As a result, I no longer worry about where I stand, I just play until I think I’ve gotten the highest score I can. As a matter of fact, on some levels, where I feel based on my results the level is “rigged” to cause me to use more powerups (i.e wingman stops DEAD when just brushing the top of a rock instead of bouncing and moving on), I stop playing on that level completely. I’m sure we’ve all seen many strange occurrences where this game, which is touted as being based on physics, has results that are definitely not in keeping with normal action/reaction.
    I guess you could say that I play until it’s no longer fun, except when I see a result that gets me so angry I quit for the week. Just a reminder guys, it’s a game, let’s play for fun. If it’s fun to keep trying to get to the top despite impossible scores, do it as long as you can afford it!!

    @jkhab69

    In my diamond (rovio) league last week, the number one player was about 60k ahead of me. That *seems* possible. The reason I say my league is because we’ve already established that there isnt just one diamond, gold, etc, since we dont have the same top scorers in our leagues. I dont understand it, but it’s true. In the friends leagues, as with every other week, the scores are usually wildly higher than in the rovio league, as much as 160k in some instances. It looks like Rovio is cleaning up the cheaters in the formal league. I’m not sure how the scores in the friends league can be so much higher. My solution, as simplistic as it may seem, is to delete friends who have impossible scores, especially if it’s something blatant, like having a score that can only be achieved without using any birds at all. I see no reason to reward cheaters with gifts every day.
    Note: this is my second week in diamond, and probably my last, since I’m seeing scores that I wont have time to match, and of course I dont see HOW to match them. While I do think things are improving, I’m inclined to agree that some of the scores are allowed by rovio as an incentive to get us to use more powerups. I don’t agree with a theory I saw that the scores are posted by rovio employees using tweaked software. Such an action could be construed as fraud, and I really doubr rovio is so desperate for cash that they would risk losing most of their customer base.
    One reason I like this site so much is that the admins here police the cheaters who post impossible scores. Yet more justification to become an unchained member, as a way to say thank you for all the hard work the admins do here.
