Hey guys, I’ve been out for a few days, which means that I lost a week in Arena, didn’t do the event, etc., etc. I quit cold turkey and I’m out for good. And that’s basically how this game works, where you are either on the treadmill playing daily, or you might as well not play. I’ve kinda stopped phone gaming, just doing some other stuff for fun.

Anyhow, glad to see that my profile still generates teams. Too bad you didn’t get one of my solo bird teams – those should be easy wins for anybody. I hope you didn’t try your Venomous against me! :D

22,000+ LCs… LOL.

For those of you who don’t have huge piles of LCs and snouts, I’ll share my thoughts on how to stay:

1. get to Level 60, hoping to set up a lucky free advanced pig spin; bank LCs until then.
2. auto-run my primary Arena team (Wizard, Witch & Sea Dog) in SRC for XP, Mastery, Snouts and Stars.
3. buy snouts mastery at Dojo every few hours.
4. spend LCs go into the 5xRR for lv.60 Set Items, hunting 1st Mana / Lighting, Gladiator / Scissors and Sweet; 2nd Masamune / Dragon and Beep! / Artillery.

@smwforever45 – yeah, I’m probably out sooner rather than later.

It’s not a question of whether I would have the ability to compete, it’s a question of whether I still have the desire to continue.

@vinnieb00 – exactly. It’s a grind for the sake of grinding. Completely pointless.

@datguygamer – I still play(ed). It’s just that most of the content is uninteresting repeats of stuff that I’ve already played, for basically zero reward. Most of this stuff is like the doubled arena rewards – everybody is just treading water, with nothing really new.

@angryde – don’t be sad – it’s just a game. I had fun accomplishing the goals that I had.

And with the new update, the Level 50 items become obsolete for new Level 60 items. Not happy with this, as the shards basically become lost.

OK, my take is like this:
1. Elite Cleric & Elite Pirate – Not a big deal.

2. Mastery 15 vs 12 is a small bump in power, but I’m not going back to grinding 3 levels x 5 birds x 5 classes x 50k XP each.

3. Level 60 vs 50 is easy enough if you have lots of XP potions stocked; however, this destroys all of the Set Items. Between losing Valiant for weeks earlier, and now having a huge change in item power, I’m not happy. Worse, the scrap Shards are woefully low for what you put it.

4. Red’s Arena Trophy & Maelstrom Set – don’t care at all.

Really, I think this is where I start to disengage. I was OK poking around a little each day, but having to re-start my Sets all over and re-grind? Nope.

Speaking of, the Android achievements are borked, right? none of my Arena achivements are counting.

Also, 7k/day is still good for 1st/2nd in my league. Yay?

I’m 2nd with 7k, it’s going just fine.

Yeah, I show 70 stamps, out of 100+, but it stops counting if you have more than 70 stamp cards.

Also, back then, you were only supposed to get 1 card per week. You didn’t get a stamp card every day.

I finished in 1st. Got 2 Shards!

I am OK with being 2nd, as I can always grind a bit more if I have to.

It doesn’t matter what 1st is. It matters what 3rd is.

I did a couple fights, and let the enemy KO my birds a bunch. Out of 20+ KOs for Valiant on both sides, All were 3-turn waits.

It’s obviously a grind, but that’s what it takes if you want a top 3 result in a competitive league. And really, the leagues aren’t that competitive. I’m running first with 44k where 2nd is under 35k with lots of guys fighting for 3rd. Whether it’s “easy” or “hard”, it still takes some time and effort to get top 3.

I don’t think I’m playing 4 hours a day, tho.

Given the history, a new set item would make the most sense, simply because it means there would be another set item for people to chase. I could see them switch from Birds to Banner.

Switching to stamp cards would be bad for all of the people who are already maxxed out on stamps and/or bird mastery.

@smwforever45 – I’m sitting at 38k. If I had missed a 3k, I’d be at 35k. If I had somehow missed 2 of them, I’d be at 32k. You’re another 6k back from that. There were leagues when I’ve ground more than that, so I know it’s doable.

Also, no way Rovio pulls those objectives or limits them – they’re the carrot for getting them playable, and the stick for not doing so.

If you don’t have those classes, you just need to grind the medals to make up the difference. No biggie. :P

I will not miss the “variety” at all, as Valiant is my primary banner. I spent a LOT of Shards on it pre-nerf, so it is pretty crappy not to get the set effect. RNG losing to Reset sucks.

For Arena, get Witch – she can heal the banner for 5k, 6k, 7k per turn…
Otherwise, get Sea Dog – the extra hitting is great.
Then, get the other one.

After that, I like Wizard, and Spies.

I’m not big on Frost Savage at all. Bard and Treasure Hunter are OK, but Witch & Spies are better.

Out of the 15, I’m 1st, with 31k for a “safe” lead over the other 2 with points. Good thing I still did my objectives… :D

But yeah, once Valiant is fixed, the meta will shift.
