Coming to this thread late …

… in part because I came to the competition late. I got lucky, had an easy cohort, and took 2nd place, but didn’t get far up the token progression at all.

Today seems more reasonable — I did one recharge, hence 8 runs, and hit the 50 token level or so. But I do miss the first days of some recent competitions, where 550 was almost guaranteed.

Got Boss Pig a couple of times. Embarrassingly whiffed on killing him with one of my slow Grimocks once. Killed him easily the other time, I think with E. Grimlock.

Got Unicron once, when I had Soundwave/Soundblaster out. Didn’t kill him. Got a bunch of points even so.

I’m just glad that they took out the “Be scrambled exactly at the end of the run” and Eggbot ones. The former is random and the latter costs gems.

The first answer to a support email is often just something canned like that.

Don’t judge them until you try writing back and saying “You missed the point; please try again.”

That said — your email wasn’t good anyway. You put many complaints into one email. You mixed together bugs and other kinds of complaints. Almost no game or other software company is set up to respond to that well.

My gem stash crossed 11,000 recently, and I’m not doing anything special. E.g., I don’t use pigs to shorten missions, except occasionally when there’s a specific reason due to a competition or to my sleep schedule.

Well, I needed only 600 tokens, and 2 different days of quests contributed to my stash, so I’m already done with the non-cash rewards. :)

My only Unicron sighting was when I had a terrible pair of TFs to tackle him with. I didn’t even try to kill him.

I’ve had a lot of runs that gave 650-1000+ tokens pre-bonus. Mainly, these were in the desert. I forget whether any beach or forest runs were also that high.

All I’m missing are the launchers, so that’s 600 tokens needed.

Presumably, I’ll pick those up by the end of the first day.

The bugs — or perhaps they’re just UI stupidities — I hate are the ones that make it hard to get a target lock on something. E.g., a missile comes at you, you wait until the missile is coming in straight, you shoot, and you still don’t have a chance of hitting it. Or you try to shoot backwards and you’re in a TF that’s unhappy to do that. Or you try to pull your Grimlock off of Unicron to shoot a missile.

Well, maybe you guys are consistently successful in such scenarios, but I have a whole lot of failures with the controls …

I had 4995 tokens early yesterday. :)

Given how few tokens turn out to be spendable on the accessories, I’m going to coast now to the finish.

It’s dumb to have only two accessories, and those for the same slot. Even giving the cheap ones — headphones and so on — as optional rewards would be an improvement.

My big confusion today is whether a gold block scores 15 points or just 5. Are they all 15? Just the larger ones? Is there a partial-damage level that scores 5 or whatever?

Actually, I’ve been spending 30 gems per day to get two recharges. As long as I enjoy the runs, why not? 20 gems are pretty easily come by …

… except that I’m getting really tired of how long the Lab animations take. If I stop playing the game out of boredom, it will be because of how long one transaction in the Lab takes.

Anyhow — if I win a day by a big margin, I never know whether the last recharge was necessary to discourage the runner-up from trying to catch me.

I’ve been pretty lucky so far. The first day I spent 30 gems and easily got 1550 tokens. Also got 130 tokens plus some gems from the daily quests.

Today I’m in what seems like a fairly tough cohort, but I got Unicron while I had Goldie Grim out. (I got bounced down to 2nd place soon after that, actually.) The lucky part is that I start more runs with 4 hearts of health than I do 5, to save the annoyance of constant recharging, but started that particular run with 5 — and lost 4 of them in the fight. :)

At least getting to 550 has been easy the first two days — I’m sure I would have made it spending only 10 gems each day, and I’m fairly sure I would have made it spending none at all

I got unicron twice. Once Bluestreak was out, who barely touched him, I think due to lack of range on his shots.

The only boss I’ve beaten today was Boss Pig.

I got Boss Pig when I had a Grimlock out, so that was good.

I got Unicron in Pig City when I had Optimus Prime out. No chance of beating him, but it was still my best run so far. :)

My first few days of quests all had crazy/impossible ones in the mix.

Now I’ve had several straight days of doable ones.

I’d add to the comments above that 10 chips is a nice reward. You can break those down for, on average, a reasonable number of gems.

Well, I still haven’t had a day without either the enter Astrotrain quest or the earn 100s of millions of coins one.

I had part of a day, but the reset put the coins one in place.

I had a very similar experiece to @Millforce2K. I was finally on track for 8/8, with lots of event token rewards. Now — not so much.

I’ve done 10 or so runs today, and I got Unicron once. No hope of killing it with E. Starscream, but it was my highest-scoring run anyway, so I’m not crying.

Getting to 550 tokens was REALLY fast today. Hasn’t that been common for the first day over the last few competitions?

I think I need 2475 tokens total to get the best available accessories for each slot where I don’t already have something better. So that’s looking to be pretty easy …

That was also the first day since the quests began I had a TF enter the Astrotrain scrambled by a missile.

After a few competition of turning in my extra tokens for cash, I’m going to gamble on keeping them this time. Probably that’s a waste, but I’m holding steady around 28 million coins and don’t see much use for the cash anyway.
