In another thread a support email from Rovio was posted regarding this issue. Apparently they are testing out various options for the maximum number of lives. So it’s not a bug. 5 is the usual number of hearts, but some people have more and that might become the standard.

Yeah, I figured this out as well this week. So I now only play without wifi on. This is a case where the bugs actually facilitate the boycott.

I was a bit skeptical when I read @optimuspig’s first post. But his arguments and his math have convinced me that this is worth doing. I want to register my displeasure with the following things:

1) The bugs and the slow pace at which they are fixed.
2) The goals posts that have moved from max level 10 to max level 15.
3) The missions…they just suck.

Yeah, for everyone here it is probably very advisable to log out of Facebook. If that will prevent half of all resets, I’d be happy.

It worked!! I’ve restarted the game a couple of times after collecting rewards from the completed mission to verify…

I logged out of Facebook, per the advice of @optimuspig. Presumably the game still has a Game Center backup since I am on iOS. Might part of the reason be that the Game Center backup stores missions differently than the Facebook backup and they conflict somehow?

Anyway, here are some other observations since I collected rewards from the same mission over 30 times. It was a 24-hour mission for which I enlisted three level 11 bombers.
– Sometimes I got three keys, other times four keys. The amount of keys seems to be totally random.
– The rewards varied wildly as well. Sometimes I got a lot of gems, other times a lot of coins. On occasion I got just some crappy material and very few coins. So rewards seem to be random as well.

Well, it’s worth a try. Not sure how to disconnect from Game Center, but Facebook is easy. I’ll report back.

Since Wednesday I haven’t been able to collect the rewards from the mission portal on the right side of the island. Each time I collect the rewards, the game resets itself on the next reboot. I’ve tried it over 30 times now. Basically a mission portal is completely out of commission, meaning I am not getting tons of materials, coins and gems.

All the tips here thus far haven’t worked, including hard closing the game when the popup appears.

The issue has gotten worse for me.

I am not able to collect the rewards for a specific completed mission without the game resetting itself afterwards. So for over 24 hours now, I have let a mission portal go untouched. I can’t start new missions in that portal either obviously.

More than 10 times I have tried to collect the rewards during the last day or so. Each time, the game resets. Nothing I do works, including hard closing the game when the pop-up appears with the reset message.

I agree with @optimuspig. My transformers are almost all level 11. And that will likely be the moment that I quit as well. Basically it’s all grinding. Not a lot of fun.

It has happened 4 times within the last 2 hours…this is beyond ridiculous.

Please give this update 1 star on the AppStore…to warn other players not on this forum and give Rovio every incentive to fix this as soon as possible (as well as the other bugs in this game).

Am I the only one who is not surprised that Rovio is in deep financial trouble?

Due to this bug I lost more than 100k coin progress. How can this happen?

I’ve had this experience as well.

Transformers has got to be Rovio’s buggiest game ever.

This is a recurring problem with Angry Birds Transformers. The levels are either too easy or too hard. Before this latest update, the former was the case (especially if your bots were all level 9 or 10). Now they are way too hard. Seems to me that more testing before the release would have prevented this.

I’ve decided to stop playing Arena because I’ve come to believe the game is more frustrating than fun. Here’s why.

Skill and dedication are valued too little compared to random luck and the willingness to spend money. If you lose the coin toss, you are at a pretty decent disadvantage. If you lose the coin toss AND have the bad luck to draw an opponent with all level 10 classes (mine are mostly level 6, 7 and 8), it’s almost a guaranteed loss. This happens more often than you’d think when you are at level 41.

I understand Rovio wants to make money on the games they produce. But when winning equals paying money, there’s little incentive to invest cash. Winning doesn’t give you a good feeling when you haven’t mastered something but just paid for it. In fact, winning sort of feels like having cheated.

When an opponent has the banner that takes a lot of your health when you defeat one of their birds, I find it to be impossible to win. I basically perform a hard restart on the app to get a new line up of birds from my opponents. You lose so much health.

Any advice on beating the objective “win 3 arena battles without defeating an opponent’s bird”. Seems basically impossible, especially if you lose the coin toss.

I find it kind of shocking that Rovio seems not to have fixed the bug.

@optimuspig Yeah, I found it hard to justify at first too. But it’s worth it because you get about 700 coins per run and you can play it without restriction. So it adds up to real progress.

This is actually a question that was on my mind as well. Because of the bugs that people experience once you progress in the game, I stopped playing the regular levels. Only Jenga mode. So I am still collecting coins, upgrading my characters, etc. You really don’t miss anything by not playing the regular levels.

@mighty-red-1 Dude, that’s a horrible strategy. Don’t know which level your birds are but at level 38 that strategy doesn’t do enough damage to counteract the healing that the boss does.

Same here. The labeling is not as useful as you would expect.
