  • @mvnla2, nope. I never skip opponents. In season 1 i would just use the disabled wifi method to finish the objectives without running into hacked accounts, but that’s it.

    @mvnla2, android Galaxy tab & phone and various update levels (recorded only season 1 though). I’m still experiencing fair tosses.

    I don’t play unranked battles, so that answer is no. Although I am convinced that unranked battles would not matter at all for coin toss records. It’s the same mechanism whether you play ranked or not. The only difference is that you don’t get rewards for it.

    @rovionefuah, you there? Any chance you can find the time to reply to our posts up here?

    @mvnla2, one person’t record should never go unchecked, so feel free to start a new statistic on this… :)

    I just want to emphasize the idea that people mostly start getting frustrated about *unfair* tosses after getting a long streak of losses. People often just forget about the long streaks of wins the day before.

    @dr_ishmael, @harleym, when using autoplay it is much more efficient to use SRC. Both castles give about the same amount of mastery when played in full. On top of that, SRC is easy to finish on autoplay since you only need lots of damage and it gives good snoutlings as well.

    CPC is only efficient because bombing first level pays out on lots of mastery at once. It is a lot of effort and extremely boring to do, but speeds up the mastery collection with effort.

    Therefore autoplaying SRC is the lazy sitting back approach and allows for good snoutling farming for the dojo at the same time. For autoplay multiple levels in the castle, CPC is just inefficient.

    @partshade, I think including the golden pig stuff is a great idea.

    @kerravon @killerkea @mvnla2 @partshade @neomerlinmagic, I wish I could and I’d love to, but I really don’t have the time for it anymore. I’m in a whirlwind of work in the foreseeable future. As mentioned in the other thread, I can assist with prepping and minimal editing all the good material with html for readability in this forum but that’s pretty much it. After that, someone else should be the owner since I’m already slowly slipping away from this forum.

    I hope someone will be able to do some work on this. It won’t take much, just consolidate existing info in this thread into the first post. Most of it is already written after all. A few hours at most for someone who’s a bit skilled in writing…

    @smokejumper, I would not conclude so quickly that these players are cheating. It’s been easter holiday in most countries and many people have been grinding out a lot of points. Much more than usual. These numbers look like players spending most of the day playing continuously. They’re lvl 41 and have achieved high ranks in the previous arena season. This means that they’ve got the best gear available in the arena. It’s not hard but just takes up a lot of time.

    @killerkea, ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I was getting my hopes up for an easter egg or something… (it’s easter after all…)

    @partshade, @mvnla2, It can be done quite well actually. With the use of some html coding it should not be hard to make it readable and simple to access. There have been some great jobs on this in other threads. Check out the first post of the cheaters for a low level example, but with some minimal help of birdleader, I’m sure we can do something good with all that.

    I wouldn’t mind putting it all together and work on the readability a bit, as long as I won’t have to do any editing. I simply don’t have the time for any writing these days. I’m quite comfortable with the html bit and that wouldn’t take up too much of my time.

    I’m sure that combining all this valuable info and hard work by many editors would create a very comprehensive and proper strategy guide…

    What about a separate sticky thread combining the first page stuff from the mastery, snoutlings and experience threads?

    These three threads are probably the most important threads in here and contain all gameplay info anyone is looking for. Perhaps adding some advice on what to spend LCs and Snouts on would be useful, although that could be a poll somewhere in this forum? Not sure if that’s possible at the moment, but I guess it would be useful.

    I fully agree with what @mimi27 said.

    You can complain about meeting stronger teams and competing against rank 10 birds and I do agree that lining up rank 10 birds against a rank 5 team is not well balanced.

    Then again, all the gear and ranks are the result of ridiculously hard work. I’ve spent waaaaayyy too much time on this game grinding away on Star reef castle and collecting lc’s to get everything maxed out (half year or so). You simply can’t expect to play this game for a month or two and get the highest levels just like that.

    With enough effort, patience and time, most will be able to reach diamond. When your board is too hard, just play to prevent a degradation. The next week your board will look different with new chances. You have many weeks to go and you should not need to win each week. Leave that to the kids with too much time on their hands.

    It’s also because you’re lower than level 41. Many lower level players just check out the arena and find that it can be tedious. Many objectives cannot be achieved due to unavailable classes, and most players end up playing only a few matches to try it out, without putting too much time into it. When you get to the higher leagues it will get more difficult for sure.

    You’re much better off playing through the arena before reaching lvl 41. At 41, most, if not all opponents are rank 10 (or well underway to 10) and have tons of epic set items.

    So make sure to get your arena sets and gear completed at diamond level (strongest items) before reaching lvl 41! :)

    @snarky, Stone guardian should not be available until the mini map campaign.

    @killerkea
    , you mention having bought stone guardian, how did you do this??? I think many would like to know! :)

    @rovionefuah,

    I’d like to ask you about another topic as well. The cheaters have mostly disappeared, except for a few. I spent a lot of time during season 1 to get to the bottom of all cheat methods out there and also sent detailed reports through your support. However, I am currently not aware of any other obvious ways of cheating except for modding in-memory values on a local device (which I have successfully tested towards the end of season 1).

    Many online p2p games incorporate a banning system. Rovio used to state somewhere that players may get banned when using mods, cheats, hacks or bots. Will Rovio eventually consider taking out the axe on some players? If so, are there ideas on a timeline and if no, what are the considerations not to do this?

    I am curious whether you are currently even able to track individual players at all and to what extent. Could you elaborate on that?

    If you’re willing to listen to suggestions, there have been some great ideas in this forum on banning or degrading cheaters including features like reporting players in leagues (where more than x reports on one player should warrant investigation).

    I am hoping for an in-depth reply… :)

    @rovionefuah, read this entire thread for many examples please. Can you let us know in here that it’s landed?

    @rovionefuah, there’s a lot of info in the multiple leagues thread indeed and @mvnla2’s links are all good examples. We’ve been keeping track during the last season a lot and that was easy since we were also tracking cheaters a lot. This meant that we were able to spot these ghost players across the different leagues.

    Since you’ve tackled most cheaters, people are less active with screenshots of leaderboards. This makes it less likely that we will be able to spot them again. At least not as much as with the last season.

    I’ll revive the multiple leagues so you can find it easily.

    For the rest, since it is a priority at Rovio now, I would urge you to spend some time reading through the entire multiple leagues thread.

    @ericog, that’s not reasonably possible indeed. Have you sent it to Rovio as well? Probably good to keep them up to date on the fact that the cheaters have not been dealt with yet.

    It’s mostly a matter of perception. You tend to *forget* the winning tosses simply because the battle is finished faster and there’s nothing out of the ordinary. Each lost toss tends to be remembered since you have to work harder towards your goal.

    A while ago I recorded more than 900 tosses and came out at 49,8% losses. I don’t have the sheet anymore, but it covered the leagues from gold to diamond for many weeks.

    @neomerlinmagic, you clearly don’t have @bubbley in your friendlist, he’s 20k ahead of me!

    You can blame it on a toddler… (sleepless nights) :)

    @kerravon, On that example both Snarky and I were on the same board. That was no ghost. My scores on his board only lagged behind on one day. After that it was all synced properly again. The only result was that from his perspective, I suddenly jumped ahead with a few thousand points. The example from @bubbley could be similar indeed, although I do see a significant difference.

    My device showed my correct score which obviously was not synced properly. If others see a lower score, that score will be visible for all duplicated ghost players as well. There’s only one record for each player and the ghost presence should simply point to the same record.

    @larry @kerravon, Pretty much everything about this game is based on simplicity, whether it is about the in-game odds or the technical infrastructure. This is also where most of the exploits and bugs came from.

    The whole setup of this “fallback” system indicates that the scores across the boards *should* be identical. Implementing this solution and then adding a layer of complexity to get varying scores is not in line with anything we’ve seen and simply wouldn’t make sense at all.

    @kerravon
    , my scores on the multiple boards were spot on. No difference at all. The timing difference of the screenshots with the alternate league added up perfectly.

    Having said all this, I don’t understand what we’ve been looking at with @bubbley’s example.

    Another thing we should not forget is that there are people out there with identical names. We’ve all seen that dumbass who tried to use my name last week and got caught by @tigerussell

    @rovionefuah, Any chance you can let us know that you understand the frustrations on ghost players? We *think* we understand what Rovio intends the system to work like.

    We are all trying to relay to you (and Rovio) that there are side effects which are very very wrong.

    All frustrations in the nest are caused by Rovio refusing to acknowledge what’s going on. It will help if you can let us know that you understand what’s happening and that it’s somewhere on a priority list.

    In the mean time, congratulations with getting rid of 99% of the cheating. The cheaters thread is slowly disappearing towards the archives which is a very good sign. I haven’t seen or heard a lot about cheaters anymore (although there still seem to be score editors out there…)

    @korath88, @kenhsieh, you guys have it spot on. Thanks for the explanation. I was not aware of this scoring system and I had been wondering about this before. It does explain the lack of 3 stars in my case since I was going for 2 objectives at the same time. Defeat banner without knocking out birds and 3-star battles. Normally achieving 3 stars is not the issue, but clearly defeating the banner without knocking out birds gives less points. I always assumed that the banner health was the main (or only) driver for the ending score.

    Thanks again for sharing.
