    @mingkee27 Thanks. Re-installing did the trick.

    This update broke x86-based tablets again. At least for me.

    @freckledpig147
    , it’s not meant to show you classes you already own. It’s for people who don’t.

    Don’t know if it’s related, but on my Android tablet with an Intel processor, the Play Store now tells me that Angry Birds Epic is not compatible with my device. That’s as of the update a few days ago. Before that, I could download it from the store, and it would hang in the same way you’re all describing.

    Emulators run on PCs, which are Intel-based (x86 to be completely accurate). Maybe they broke that not long before Christmas when emulators stopped working? I haven’t had this tablet long enough to know if it ever worked on it when emulators did work. I’ll send Rovio a message when I get a minute.

    @mvnla2 @partshade Well it happened again tonight. Logged in, got the ad for the free roll and the free item. I logged out again right away and I got the ad for free roll again on the next login. In total, I got it 5 times in a row. Then it stopped for no apparent reason. No pattern to the ads either.

    For the record, I didn’t benefit from this either tonight or the last time. No useful item dropped. I had the rainbow riot tonight too, but that got me nothing.

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @mvnla2 @partshade Not sure why it worked for me a few times in a row today. Perhaps it’s a combination of things: logging out gives the ad every day and logging out a few times in a row works as long as the ads are different. Just a guess. I’ll try again tomorrow.

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    Well it just stopped working… I got half a dozen rolls before it stopped.

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @razorblade

    Interesting. There’s also the bug mentioned by @partshade where logging out of your Rovio account gets you the free roll by watching an ad every day instead of every 2 days.

    Well, on my game (using iOS here), I get the free roll by watching an ad every time I log out and back in, as long as I forcibly close the app in-between, WITHOUT WAITING A FULL DAY. I’ve gotten several rolls in the past few minutes by logging in and out and terminating the app in-between.

    @kerravon You’re right. I hadn’t gone back to the previous page initially. Now that I have, I see you also provided that value. So did @burbman.

    It’s weird how that one is off from the rest. Guess that throws my values off. I know it’s not linear though, so there’s gotta be something else we’re missing.

    @dr_ishmael @angryjohnny @mvnla2

    I don’t think the formula is as simple as Strength=Ax+B where x is the level, A is the multiplier and B is the offset. I’ll attempt to describe why I’m stating that…

    You can see the progression isn’t linear. For example, let’s use Chuck’s weapon strength. @dr_ishmael tells us that he has 3 known data points: level 29 – 296, level 37 – 364, level 41 – 400. 41-29=12 and 400-296=104. A potential multiplier could be 104/12=8.667. The offset works out to 45 in that case. Problem is, at level 37, which is our other known data point, this falls apart: 37*8.667+45=365.7.

    What this tells me is that the offset is also a function of the level. So the formula is probably more like Strength=Ax+Bx (x being the level).

    But… that’s not right either: Ax+Bx is the same as (A+B)*x. We’re back to a linear formula, which I’ve just said is incorrect. So long story short, I came up with the following formula:

    Strength=Ax+B/(100-x)

    That also comes from the fact that the offset seems to be inversely proportional to the level. That’s why I have something like this: B/(100-x).

    Forgive me for not explaining this more clearly, but at the end of the day, it seems to almost work. Using Chuck’s known data points for weapon strength in @dr_ishmael’s spreadsheet, I came up with the following values for A and B:

    Strength=7.18*x + 6236/(100-x) where x is the level.

    This “almost” works for every level. If I plug this into Excel, I get the following:

    Level Strength (Chuck)
    1 70.17779293
    2 77.99888736
    3 85.83323648
    4 93.6812545
    5 101.5433731
    6 109.4200422
    7 117.3117313
    8 125.2189301
    9 133.1421499
    10 141.0819248
    11 149.0388128
    12 157.0133973
    13 165.0062886
    14 173.0181251
    15 181.0495757
    16 189.1013407
    17 197.1741545
    18 205.2687872
    19 213.3860467
    20 221.5267817
    21 229.6918837
    22 237.8822897
    23 246.0989857
    24 254.3430094
    25 262.615454
    26 270.9174717
    27 279.2502777
    28 287.6151549
    29 296.0134585
    30 304.446621
    31 312.916158
    32 321.4236743
    33 329.9708704
    34 338.55955
    35 347.1916277
    36 355.8691377
    37 364.5942435
    38 373.3692482
    39 382.1966058
    40 391.0789339
    41 400.0190276

    It’s slightly off compared to the data from @dr_ishmael, but it’s very close! And the value for level 33 seems totally wrong (332). Looks like @angryjohnny provided that data point. You sure about that one, @angryjohnny?

    I haven’t done the other birds and I haven’t done off-hands either. If someone could take a look at this and see if that makes sense, I’d appreciate it.

    I do have one problem with what I just did: I don’t see a programmer at Rovio picking the values I calculated out of thin air. There must be some reasoning behind them. These values may themselves be derived from something else within the game. Who knows…

    @minigurlnikki Yes, I hear you. I couldn’t catch the top 3 people on my board this week. However, I was able to finish in 11th place and avoid the relegation to the lower league (I’m in the Silver League).

    Keep working on Mastery and Epic items and you’ll get there.

    @dr_ishmael

    3 more data points you didn’t have on your spreadsheet yet:

    Red – Offhand – 818
    Chuck – Weapon – 374
    Matilda – Offhand – 1054

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @minigurlnikki If you finish 13th, 14th or 15th on your leaderboard, you get relegated to the next lower league.

    @millennium I don’t know the answer to that.

    @millennium It’s the latter. Real players and birds, but AI-controlled.

    Are you all reporting these bugs to Rovio? Because while it’s great to let everyone know about them, this is also not the place for Rovio to look. Go here to open a ticket with them:

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    I’ve had this happen on iOS, but it’s been more rare lately. To me it seems to have to do with the type of ad that gets shown, but I could be wrong.

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @kerravon How can it not be a glitch? The mining sites flash until you get all the resources out of them. And it’s always the same amount. The presents, on the other hand, would disappear after 1 gift if you didn’t tap multiple times. So I don’t see how the multiple tapping could have been intended.

    For those of you who don’t read the bug thread or Twitter, @ABEpic posted this on Twitter earlier:

    “@ABepic: For all of those asking for compensation: YES, we plan on compensating all of you for losses and the inconvenience! Points can’t be restored”

    “@ABepic: @Paardegone The progress will probably not be restored, however, we will compensate for the potions etc.!”

    “@ABepic: @skaterboytobias We will be generous!”

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @lefil Le dédommagement va arriver. Patience. Ils l’ont annoncé sur Twitter ce matin. Pour ton problème de cochon doré, va sur leur site et envoie-leur un message (en anglais, si possible). Tu es sûr que tu as utilisé le cochon doré dans ton nid, et pas le cochon doré de l’arène? Parce que ce dernier coûte 5 pièces d’or. Va à cette adresse pour envoyer un message à Rovio.
    https://support.rovio.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

    In English: he says the golden pig cost him 5 LC instead of 3. Sent him to Rovio support and asked him to make sure he used the right pig, not the arena one that does cost 5 LC.

    Also, @ABEpic posted this on Twitter earlier:

    I somehow was in second place with less than 1500 medals. Lucky for me, I guess.

    Now if they could fix the crashes, we’d be in business.

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    It doesn’t reset your Mastery level if you buy a class again. Someone tried this very recently and posted about it (maybe in the Mastery thread?)

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @mvnla2 You’re right. It resets by itself without the game crashing. I’ve now experienced it. Unless they fix it, the only way to win this event is to do it at the last minute, 6 days from now.

    And the trick by @ineptidude does work. Try tapping a gift really fast. Small consolation, I guess.

    I know bugs happen, but this is really too much. Did Rovio even test their update prior to release?

    I finished third and got promoted to the Stone league. This gave me 3 new daily objectives which I completed, so I’m pretty much done for today, even though I haven’t lost 3 times yet. The thing is, since the promotion to Stone league, there is nobody on my leaderboard. I know it was only a few hours ago, but still… Anyone else experiencing this?

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @killerkea I did that and still lost all my medals… either way, there are also other types of crashes happening that don’t let you play blind. The screenshot above was just the last one.

    Eric2203
    @eric2203

    @angryjohnny We know. But everyone else should be informed of this as well.

    I just tried something. Did one battle and closed the game (I’m on iOS). I restarted and I still have my winnings. So maybe only a crash makes you lose it all? That’s going to be hard to avoid with all those ads and other bugs crashing the game constantly.

    Latest crash was this (I assume that’s a common bug):

    Bug

    @eric2203

    Oh my God… I re-started after being reset to zero. Game crashed again a little later and… I’m back at zero again! and the Stamina drinks have been consumed. WTF is going on?
