Aren’t all games kind of pointless? If the goal is to waste time and have small bits of fun, it isn’t pointless. If the goal is to max out everything, it will take forever (meaning YEARS), and when you get close, they will change the rules. In the mean time, the cheaters will pass you up.

As for finding people who play the game that are willing to be FB friends, I thought there was a list of people here who do that.

When you go on missions, you can bring a “friend” along with you. If you use them and thank them, they receive a gem. If one of those friends brings along your bot and thanks you, then you will get a gem (or some coins) too. You collect them by going to the friend activity tab.

If you get some FB friends, you are likely to get a slow stream of gems. Maybe just one or two a day, but sometimes a lot more.

My rank is in the Mid 900’s (iPad is not near me at the moment), but I am responding because I am curious about your coin situation. I am not busy opening dozens of crates a day. Usually just the minimum 1 free and 4 more (15,000 coins x 4), so my coins are relatively stable. If I am in a competition, there often isn’t anything worth purchasing, so I buy 150 or 200K coins with the leftover tokens. I sometimes, but not often, double the bonus.

If you play even a little every day and do not overspend, you really shouldn’t have a problem with coins.

Gems are obviously a different issue, but lately I have spent them to buy a new character because it is way less stressful, and because of the bonus tokens and spark, it is often more lucrative than trying to play to win every day.

I am not close to the max level yet (375), but I have recently decided to shoot pigs first and other stuff second. None of the ranks care about coins, and they come easily enough. Gems and Pigs are what matter these days…

Someone suggested updating the OS on my ipad in order to get these challenges to work. Ive been thinking of doing it anyway, so I just did it. No luck. Still no challenges!

I am on iOS 8.2 on an iPad air running the latest release 1.9.26.3 (?), and I am not seeing any challenges. I see the button / banner for the holiday challenges, but nothing ever shows up. As I understand it, others on iOS can see the challenges. What can I do to fix the problem??

Anyway, nevermind. It updated progress and took it away again. Maybe this comes from sitting in the basement without the wifi on. But that seems weird. That would imply you could get the old formulas back just by turning the internet off or keeping the wifi attached to something not connected to the internet…

Yeah, and this was true the last time I played an hour or two ago. I just picked up the iPad, went to the lab, and got 35 gems! I checked the storage building and the maximum levels are back to what they were weeks ago. WTF!?!

I’m on iOS and it crashes on startup every time. It started this afternoon when I tried to launch the game while on an airplane. I was not in airplane mode, though, because I like to have an active GPS. Cellular data was off,mouth wifi was on and connected to a GoPro. I thought maybe it was confused by the lack of Internet, but I have Internet now and the game still crashes. I rebooted the iPad with no success.

It’s not THAT hard to get gems. You can often get a bunch by converting extra stuff in the professors lab. I suppose you can easily lose them there too. I guess the lab is kind of like a casino!

I did just clear a gold dome. The TF was fully upgraded and the dome was active for 10 more hours, so it wasn’t a problem. 50,000 coins.

You do know that you can upgrade the silo to level 15…

When you get your TFs to a high enough level, I dont think you will have much of a problem with this. Every time I upgrade anything, it uses at least a third of the contents of the silo.(level 313 or something like that)

It has happened to me two more times since my original post. ALWAYS the TF being upgraded. Sometimes without any possibility of playing unless I use gems to complete the upgrade. That must be the point – you have to spend a ton of gems to play the gold dome.

The thing is, in recent weeks I have played gold dome levels that barely netted me more coins than normal. Same thing with trying to catch the eggbot. That used to be a surefire way to get more coins, but now, not so much. Admittedly, my last gold dome level I got over 50,000, but that is the exception, not the rule.

Drew, your argument is pure BS. I realized that when I noticed that the lab actually subtracts from the count for each supply as you choose them. You can see the count go down! Of course, I assumed the software could and was keeping track, only now I don’t have to assume anything. This is a bug clear and simple. It knows how much space is available, it is just doing the math wrong.

Drewish, I can buy that the game is not real time, but I cannot buy that this is proper behavior and not a bug. I go in for the express purpose of using up three of my anger chips, for example, because I am completely full. I use them and get an award. But here is the kicker, the graphic shows some of them being put back in the bank, but it lies. They aren’t there. When you complete a mission and there isn’t room for what you won, the graphic shows the stuff turning to coins and not going there in the first place. The different behavior is because it is a bug in the software.

Same here. No gems except from missions. Was up to 402, but down to 395. Kind of annoying since I was about to spend most of them on a mission slot.

On IOS at level 268, if it matters.

I play Jenga mode regularly, especially since it is now so easy to die in the regular ABT world. You need fewer coins out there now, but it seems a bit harder to earn them…

Anyway, I have maximized my play by adopting a few strategies:

* If the first run is Grimlock, I abort the entire run. Optimus is so pathetic and incapable of aiming quickly, that it just isnt worth the time.
* If the first run is Starscream, I do nothing. I let him die as soon as possible. That way everything is nicely stacked for Soundwave. If Starscream actually runs the course, I *always* get a lower coin total than if he dies at the outset.
* If I see that the Jenga setup is Config #2 (no energon cubes), I am likely to bail and abort the run. There are too few coins there to waste the time. It is more productive to try another run.

My ultimate goal is to maximize Grimlock or Soundwave in the second run, as they produce more coins. I am sure there is an optimum strategy for how Grimlock should fire at the cubes so as to not knock them into the water, but I haven’t figured that strategy out yet.

I have found a bug, though. If I abort 3+ runs in a row, ABT is increasingly likely to crash. Sometimes not, but more often that not it will crash (iPad version).

To the best of my knowledge, there is no IOS update yet. Last time there were 2-3 weeks between the Android and IOS releases. I’m playing on an iPad running the latest os.

I am at 206 and my coin supply is dwindling. I’m not sure why, but perhaps I am not using Jenga mode as often and lately I am not doubling runs very often either because fewer hit my criteria of over 3000 coins. How did you amass 5 million???
