waimea@waimea@fatboyslick, check out your AB Seasons leaderboard. They already have it listed, showing one level only, but disabled obviously until the episode opens. I was going to say I was just psychic, but I’m sure I would have been caught out. :D
waimea@waimea@fatboyslick, yup, I’ve been watching since then too. At least we know what it’s called – Seasons Greedings 2. They’re either running out of cutesy things to name their yearly advent episode…or just don’t care.
waimea@waimea@fatboyslick, I very much agree, and am cautiously optimistic that Rovio will provide us with a new Seasons Advent calendar this year. It’s tough for us purists, who refuse to spend money to buy ‘cheats’ to get a competitive score, and consequently only fling the older ‘mainstream’ games, to find new stuff to fling. The latest ABo update was somewhat surprising but very much appreciated.
I think we will be able to see where Seasons is going buy Dec. 2. If no Advent calendar, I’d say it’s doomed. Fingers crossed!
waimea@waimea@welshwitch55 Angry Birds Seasons Piggywood Studios Part 1 and 2. Newest Seasons update.
waimea@waimeaThe only way to play AB2 on PC is to install an Android emulator, like BlueStacks. Angry Birds does not offer game updates for PC any longer. Good luck.
waimea@waimeaAs my friend has come online and informed me the leaderboard is under the ‘archived boards’, and I can’t delete my useless question, I shall just apologize for unnecessarily taking up forum space. (;
waimea@waimeaMy fling buddy (half way around the world) and I are pretty much old school. Just the straight games. But in over 3 years we’ve never been without some sort of competition or other – quite cut-throat. And neither of us are fond of social media so that kind of puts us out of the picture. But thanks for the invite. (:
waimea@waimeaHey @alan-leon-wautier and @dseufert…1949 to be exact. :D And when I answered @mmc1951 question about Bluestacks, hell, I didn’t even know I was in the Friends forum – I was just answering the question in general. Sorry guys, I don’t play Friends. Oh and mmc 1951…yes, we ARE a necessary evil. Where would you be without us? LOLOL…..
waimea@waimea@icebird77…1-8 is Cinderella. Notice the Prince with the crown holding out the shoe to the one-shoed damsel? Plus the clock exploding at midnight, when all the magic ended.
As for the other two? ???
waimea@waimea@mmc1951 Howdy. BlueStacks is an android emulator for people who want to fling birds on PC. Since Rovio stopped doing PC updates (couldn’t make any money off us – no way to bill for stuff) they just decided to leave us in the lurch. So some of us installed BlueStacks and you have a program that is just like using an Android device on your PC. Since the only folks I know who use BlueStacks (anyone, correct me here if I’m wrong) are those who can’t get PC updates and want to fling the new levels being put out by Rovio on their PCs, I can’t see any reason for you to get it as you get all the updates on your iPad, just like Android. And I know what you mean about the techco babble – heck, I have a year on you and I’m always learning as I go. Good luck.
waimea@waimea@birdmeister..Funny, I was kind of just mentioning that I had no problem downloading from the Android playstore, not really thinking you’d go to PC and get BlueStacks!..lol
But if that’s the only way you can play it, good for you! Yes, BS is kind of a pain to set up. But myself and my fling buddy have been flinging on PC for 4 years, and when they stopped updating the games for PC, we went to BlueStacks as a necessity. I even bought an Android tablet and tried flinging on that, but after years on a 20″ screen and using a mouse, I’m rubbish. I still can’t imagine how folks fling such great scores on phones! :D
And herein may be a problem. If you are using a PC laptop, you are probably not using a mouse – just the touch pad. So I doubt if I could help you there. But my friend uses a touch pad on his laptop, and he had experience flinging on an Android phone. So I will ask him to take a peek at this and see if he has any pointers for you. Good luck getting used to it. (:
waimea@waimea@birdmeister No problem downloading it from the playstore on BlueStacks Android emulator for PC. Good luck!
waimea@waimeaNot trying to be a smart-a**, but you answered your own question @james-peden. (:
waimea@waimeaIs anyone having problems opening AB2 since the upgrade? I get the screen with the yellow logging in bar, which fills completely, but instead of going to the game, it stays stuck on the logging in page. I’ve been able to open it only about 3 times out of 20 attempts. Fyi, I am using BlueStacks, so I can’t say for sure the problem isn’t theirs. Which I why I’m putting feelers out to see if anyone else has the problem on other devices. If not, then I’ll know to try to solve it within BlueStacks.
edit: Ok, so it DOES open. I just have to sit and wait on it for 2 or 3 minutes. Still annoying, and I didn’t have that before the update.
waimea@waimea@gelfling, re internet eating long, wonderfully thought out posts: ARGH! Happens way too often. I’ve found that if I get on a roll, and I’m writing more than a paragraph or am being incredibly eloquent, I hit ‘copy’ in mid post. That’s saved me a few grey hairs.
Thanks for the ideas, re leaderboard. But frankly, I’d just rather fling and have fun. There are too many goofy things going on with this game to try and sort them. (;
waimea@waimeaToo funny @gelfling! When @bikkit and I finally realized we were spending inordinate amounts of time trying to get our ‘friends’ situation resolved and not even playing the game, we decided that was totally counter-productive and taking the fun out of a great new game. As we really only play against (and with) each other, we don’t need a lot of friends for gifts, and we can always look at the ‘Nest’ scoreboard to compare out scores. So Facebook? Meh…
I will say one thing that bothers us, and I probably could find the answer if I went back and read every post in the AB2 forum, but we couldn’t figure out why we could both come in first in the daily arena tournament, and also not seeing each other in the daily rankings. Even though we are both still in the Vanilla league, the obvious answer is there are many, many scoreboards in each league. The fact that we compete with each other from half way around the world makes that almost logical. And it IS kind of nice that we can both be #1 on the same day. It’s a little frustrating as it interferes with our competitiveness. But it’s still a fun game.
Now we are concentrating on learning the ins and outs of the game and not worrying about all this ‘hookup’ mess. Much more fun. But for those of you still trying to sort this mess, best of luck my friend.
waimea@waimea@mvnla2, @sweetp Thanks guys for all the help and encouragement. But after spending the better part of 2 weeks trying to get this facebook friends/present sending/page leaderboard scores sorted INSTEAD of flinging and enjoying ourselves (actually driving each other to maddening frustration..lol) we have solved the problem. We have now deleted our facebook accounts and since we only compete with each other, presents are not a problem if neither is getting any and we can use the nest leaderboard for our scores! Now, finally, we can concentrate on playing the game! But thanks anyway. (:
waimea@waimea@sweetp, @gelfling, @mvnla2 Hi guys. I’m basically picking on you folks because you probably have the knowledge I (we) need. Here’s the thing: My fling buddy (who shall remain anonymous {@bikkit…lol} both have FB pages (now). We have changed our settings in ‘app visibility’ to friends as recommended. We can see each other in our list of friends to ‘invite’. We are using an early level we both have scores in. We have ‘invited’ each other ad nauseum. I get a message that he has invited me, and he also does with me. We have clicked on the invite notice, looked everywhere for an ‘approve’ icon, anything to get us both showing up on the individual level leaderboard. Also, we have tried to send presents, but it says no friends to send presents to. WHAT are we doing wrong? Are we missing some step to make AB2 recognize us as friends? We have spent more time working on this problem in the last week than we have flinging, and that’s no fun. So if any of you guys can help us ‘facebook challenged’ folks to get hooked up with each other in AB2, we would truly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
waimea@waimea@kwakwablue Woooo, I think that’s going to do it. I now have to get my friend to do it also. I think this should work. Thank you so very much!!!
waimea@waimea@kwakwablue Thanks so much for your response and info. Unfortunately I have no idea where to check to see if I have given access or my friend has. I’m almost sure I didn’t restrict any access when I first logged on to FB through AB2. I’ll have to check with my friend. But if any one knows where to find out whether we did or didn’t restrict access would be appreciated. I’ve looked through all the AB2 settings, even thought it might be a setting on FB, but no success. I logged out of FB, opened AB2 to see if it would ask me to hook up to FB, but it seems the game keeps you logged in. Oh for the easy days of ABO….
waimea@waimea@triggerfish If nothing else, thanks for helping me not feel like an idiot…lol. I’ll just hope some kind person will see this before my buddy wakes up in England in about 8 hours. Since we play head to head, it really would be nice so be able to see each other’s scores in the game level leaderboard and also send pressies. Thanks a ton anyway.
