Toby@tobyvHmm, I don’t believe the ones he gives you go into your inventory. I think you just use them immediately. @shannontj, have you verified this?
Toby@tobyv@elektrobank : Do you have the golden chilli? There was a bug (reported on, oh, maybe page 15 or so :p ) where auto-play and the golden chilli got out of synch, allowing you to rage in the first TWO turns instead of one. I think they may have “fixed” that bug by introducing yours.
Toby@tobyvNo, it doesn’t appear so. Your best, most flexible option seems to be to stock up on seeds at Western Cobalt Plateau (WCP), and water at South Beach 4, or buy the potions directly with the snoutlings you can get from WCP. Don’t buy the raw ingredients, though, they are a rip-off.
Ref:
Toby@tobyvTo try and answer you question directly :D , the enemies stop getting stronger when you max out your level at 25. By this point, however, you should be able to go to the dojo and upgrade to veteran and elite classes. A level 25 bird with a elite upgrade, using a weapon and “armor” from a friend’s pig machine, also gained at level 25, can take on any pig in the game! I know, because I can now 3-star any castle or dungeon without blinking an eye.
To find a good place to gain snoutlings for those upgrades (and the same areas apply to experience), see this thread.
Toby@tobyvSee this comment and following ones on the best place to rack up snoutlings. The Pirate Captain in Western Cobalt Plateau also gives up an inordinate amount of stars in addition to snoutlings. If you’re not easily bored, you can use @dheemazzz’s technique to rack up a ton of both in short order (specific stats are in the thread).
Toby@tobyv#1 Bard, #1a Paladin. If you don’t have 5 friends, then I guess the gates (though I’m sure this thread can help with that). The rest of the premium classes, IMO, are not worth it unless you want to have them just to have them. Everything else on your list is really just for convenience. You WILL need to roll on your friends’ pig machines to get better weapons for the later caves, but you should try to max out at level 25 before you fill up the rainbow bar, since the weapon quality you get is tied to your level when you roll, and doesn’t scale up with you.
P.S., I’m at level 25.
Toby@tobyvThe resouce (Metal Bar) is on the wheel in CC 1-7. It can be crafted (from cobalt, I think), but there seems to be a bug that it doesn’t let you craft more until you get one off the wheel.
Toby@tobyv@elektrobank : The first place you get it is in Chronical Cave 1, Level 7.
By the way, it’s best to post images to your album for viewing here (get there from your profile). Some people don’t click on outside links.
Toby@tobyvSorry, but I’ve only timed 2. Porktuga (Monday) at about 14 min, and Floating Hoghouse (Wednesday) at about 10.5 min. My impression from the others, though, is that Floating is the fastest.
Toby@tobyv@dheemazzz : It was a little less than 6000 snouts for about 6-1/2 hours of work. Like I said, I had lousy luck on the wheel. I got the 200 on the first spin, but then I had a run of over 20 before my next 200. After that I stopped counting, but it only seemed to improve slightly. Keep in mind, I had 3 stars all the way through.
Toby@tobyv@lisafaulkner : It opens up after you get the last egg from the Wiz Pig castle. Big flashing lights. Can’t miss it.
Toby@tobyvIt’s +20% of the ORIGINAL stats with each step. So if a normal class bird with a certain off-hand item had 1000 hit points, the veteran version would have 1200, elite 1400, and master 1600.
Toby@tobyvThat’s an icon of one of the people on your friend’s list. AFAIK, it’s only purpose is to show you their progress (and maybe get you to buy some junk to help you get ahead).
Toby@tobyv@dheemazzz : Awsome. I just timed your technique, and in a 15 min run I got 460 snouts. 1800 per hour seems quite doable. I might be able to push that a little higher with more practice, but I would lose use of my poor repeditive-motion-stressed wrists for a week [smile].
Others should keep in mind that I have rather high level birds (level 25 masters). It might take you a couple turns instead of a couple whacks, but as long as you survive, it does seem like the best alternative I’ve found so far. Thanks, Dheem!
By the way, the best part is you don’t have to hear those infernal birds celebrate. “Baw-baka-bah!” >shudder< :p
Toby@tobyvIMO, of the 3, the chilli is by far the most useful. However, if you’re willing to spend the time farming, you could also make a bunch of veggie cake, so if you are short on coins I agree with buying the classes instead. I prefer Bard over Paladin, but you’ll want them both. Forget the other “premium” (cost coin) classes.
Toby@tobyv@dheemazzz : I assume nothing [grin]. In actual timing of WCP, I can get a max output of about 100 snouts in 5 minutes, or about half of your estimate. I tried today’s (Wednesday’s) dungeon with Piggy McC, since, based on other timings I ran and assuming a balanced wheel, I should have been able to improve my rate by 40-50%. I did not. I did terribly with the wheel. So poorly that I actually suspect an imbalanced wheel, despite my earlier tests. Watch the Testing Fate thread for further test results.
Bottom line: WCP still seems like the best all around — and the seeds are nice too.
Toby@tobyvMore experience gets you leveled up faster, and THAT helps with battles (unless you’re already at level 25, of course).
Toby@tobyvIt seems to give you double experience for 5 battles. Once you use up those battles, it builds back up 1 battle for every 30 min you spend out of the game “resting”. Fortunately, it doesn’t keep you from playing when “tired”, just no bonus. Also, it seems like an honest attempt to encourage breaks, and not just a money grab — >cough< ABGo >cough< — since there is no way to pay to get the bonus back.
Toby@tobyv@anonymousomeone, do you want to go to the other thread and integrate what’s there into here? Please make sure you include @avip2u’s items at the end.
