I really hope they don’t go with this model for an official release. Specifically, expecting players to play a little and then wait on stamina will unnecessarily make the game less fun.

I quit AB transformers because I don’t have time for that kind of nonsense.

A model where players have to check in multiple times a day in order to progress can work for a tap-and-wait townbuilding game, but for a game that has actual gameplay, all you’re doing is making things less fun and wasting people’s time. Might as well find a similar game that doesn’t unnecessarily water down the experience.

I agree that the arena can be really tough. Consistently drawing rank 10 opponents when your birds are rank 8 makes it very difficult. I stopped trying until about 2 months ago, when I learned about the wifi trick and was finally able to finish objectives regularly.

Now that I’m in diamond basically due to the wifi trick, I tried giving regular opponents a shot again. It’s actually pretty easy now. I think having a couple of rank 10 birds makes a huge, huge difference.

    – re: the arena golden pig machine, the odds on set items is ridiculously low for me, too, despite rainbow riot. I waited until I made it to diamond to attempt spending LC on it. After about 400 LC, all I’ve gotten so far is the blazing set, one-half of the sinister set twice, and one-half of the frost (?) set twice. My blessed set is from the stone league.

Thanks guys! When I autoplay SRC, I do it for snoutlings as well as for mastery, so I try to pick birds that could use more mastery. As a result, they’ve all been leveling up at a similar pace, and now they’re all at least rank 9 (besides Stone Guard).

That said, there are definitely some birds that seem to make things take awhile when I bring them along, so I might just give up on them.

If I can summarize so far:

    Good AI / quick:
    Wizard
    Paladin
    Spies
    Samurai
    Pirate
    Bard
    Tricksters

    Plus-minus:
    Cannonneer
Princess (well, the AI works but she is weak)
    Capn**
(IMO — haven’t timed him, but it seems like a waste to boost at the end of the turn. Same could be said for Tricksters. That said, the dispeller was basically mandatory for SRC when my birds were lower in rank.)

    Poor AI:
    Rainbird
    Priestess
    Rogues
    Sea Dog

And @angryde, thanks for sharing! Would be curious to see how some of the other teams compared. There is a nice graph re: snouts/hr in the thread @kerravon recommended, but it sounds like you’ve got the inside scoop.

I agree with a lot of the picks here.

Red’s dragonbreath is the best set now, after the other bonus target sets (Bomb’s Scissors and Blue’s BEEP attack) were apparently nerfed sometime late last year.

IMO, the damage on BEEP attack (45% chance of 25% bonus damage to all targets) is mostly a placebo. The bonus attack makes me feel good, but it’s really just tickling the other targets. Scissors is the only set I don’t have completed, but a 33% chance of 35% bonus damage looks pretty similar.

For Chuck, I like Twin Lightning or sometimes Phoenix in arena.
    For Bomb, Sugar Rush.
    Matilda: Sweet!
Blues: Artillery Strike or sometimes Save Me! in arena

I finally managed to pass GG, though this other guy also shot up early on like GG and decided to pass him yesterday (likely just stamina drinks). No biggie, as long as I finish in the top 3.

@kerravon makes a good point about potions and Wizpig’s castle. I also got stuck at it and was ready to quit because it kept getting harder as I’d keep leveling up. At some point around level ~17, I decided to burn through a ton of potions so I could get past it and finish unlocking the map. Wish I had done that sooner.

Another major reason why the enemies start getting harder is because a disproportionate amount of your strength comes from your equipment, and the stats on any piece of gear is tied to the level at which you obtained it (edit – what @angryjohnny said). Would make sure your birds have the best equipment you can get. Mastery level 4 sounds pretty decent, I think, for exp level 17.

When rainbow riot comes, I might consider investing a few LC so you can get a couple of extra small spins. You’ll be impressed with how much even one set item will help make things easier for the next several levels.

@doc-mayank – I haven’t unlocked Stone Guard yet, but I bet Wizard with Captain + Sugar Rush will do the trick on autoplay. The AI is horrible with Rainbird.

If it turns out you need a healer, I find that Paladin and Cleric are the best for autoplay because they heal automatically, so it’s hard for the AI to screw things up. I might try Cleric / Wizard, or if that doesn’t work due to no dispeller, Cleric / Captain, which will go slower.

@neomerlinmagic, I’m not as geeky as the resident stat geeks here, but I think I can summarize the odds here.

I agree with @mvnla2 — the 3-stamina battle is a good deal if you’re not using friendship essence to re-roll. If you do plan to re-roll, go for the 7-stamina battle.

If the odds on the wheel are equally weighted (which may not be the case), the average winnings you’d get for each battle:

    7-stamina: 101.25 points, 1.5 feathers, 0.75 stamina drinks
    5-stamina: 67.5 points, 1.125 feathers, 0.75 stamina drinks
    3-stamina: 33.75 points, 0.75 feathers, 0.75 stamina drinks

If you subtract the average stamina drink winnings from the price of the battle, your average winnings per stamina spent would be:

7-stamina: 16.2 points, 0.24 feathers per stamina spent
5-stamina: 15.9 points, 0.26 feathers per stamina spent
3-stamina: 15 points, 0.33 feathers per stamina spent

    Hope that helps.

@samscorch, @matasl – unfortunately, there is no way to add friends in-game using GC.

The original post should probably be more clear that the only option for adding friends is with Facebook. There is no need to post one’s GC ID. Hope that helps!

Personally, I would go with Sea Dog. Gang up is incredibly helpful–not only does it deal lots of damage, but that extra attack also helps the rage chili fill up noticeably more quickly.

I don’t like using Skulkers as much, though I realize it’s a fairly popular class and everyone’s playing style is different. And @killerkea makes a good point that the Marksmen are relatively similar for upping damage.

It could be because you’re in the wood league. Those of us who don’t play arena mode are all in the wood league, so you get to kick our butts. Enjoy it while it lasts :)

Has anyone else noticed that the rested bonus is gone? I’m not getting it on either of my iOS or Android devices.
