Indeed! I just started the event, didn’t players any X2 videos, and I am already named Cheater!!! And being labelled a cheater when my score is ZERO!

In the arena, if a player is being named a cheater, his score can still be tracked, just not placed in the ranking. But no, the fact that my score is tracked zero means I was already named cheater BEFORE I even started the event! WTXXX!

@winkwink maybe you should just try to get a comfortable lead one hour before the event ends instead of trying to battle until the last minute, the reshuffling seems to occur within an hour before the ticker ends. Any of the others in your group who tries to steal a lead on your during this 60 minute is also likely to be reshuffled out too, so he will also take a huge risk if he attempts it.

@toolow my experience of minimizing this ad freeze (but still happened to me once during the last event)  is to wait about 3-5 seconds, press the play button only ONCE, and wait for the ad to load and play. Pressing the play button rapidly before the ad plays will always freeze for me. It seems that Rovio changed the sequence of the ad loading during the recent updates in order to fix the ad loading issue. My observation was based on the fact that for the GPM, the play button now grey out for quite some time before enabling it, and when I press play, the ad immediately plays (I guess the greyed out period is the time it takes to preload the ad first). The problem with the event ad is that there is no greyed-out/pre-loading period, so if you press the play too soon and the ad has not yet been buffered in, it will freeze if it does not load within the first few seconds (command time-out), or if you press again too soon (command overload). At least this is my hypothesis, you can try it during the next event and let me know if it works

I took a similar strategy but I actually only started playing Arena on Day 7, and stopped playing about 4 hours before the end of the timer. Managed to get No. 1 spot last week and this week, so this seems to work at least for me (unless I was extremely lucky)

My hypothesis is that the reshuffling only occurs at the last hour of the event.  I played through the Sports Event (which ended an hour ahead) plus rolled the rewards etc. afterward but I consciously refrained from entering the Arena screen the entire time. So, at least from my data point, you can still work on other parts of the game even if there is less than an hour from the Arena ends, just don’t go to the Arena screen!

Same here!!!

I started playing the Arena on Sunday China time. After completing the daily objectives, winning an additional 10 rounds plus using Friendship Essences to ensure I rolled at least 50 medals each time (I used up at least 20 FEs for this), I was leading my Arena board at No. 1.

Due to my time zone the Arena will end at 4am China time, so I specifically woke up at 2.45am China time to check my score to ensure I am still the leader at the end. I was still No. 1 with about 7100 medals (the No.2 player was about 6900 medals), so I played one more game to bring my total of 7215 medals.

But to my horror, when I check my ranking after this battle, I was suddenly placed 7th! As I couldn’t believe my eyes, I exited the game and reloaded. Then I found out that I was placed 9th (I took the first snapshot), and 1 minute later, I was placed 14th (took the second and subsequent snapshots). I ended up 14th.

This game is entirely screwed

For the past 2 days, I used the free roll in the areana GPM and got Red Cloth/Pennant/Patches. As I am advancing in level, the rolled Red Cloth/Pennant/Patch got me a stat that is currently higher than my Set item, but when I got into the Flags screen, the stats for the Red Cloth/Pennant/Patch got smaller.

For example, I rolled a L77 Red Patch with health 17160 (vs my Sky Cloak which is 13613), but at the Flags screen, the Red Patch become 13200, which is lower than my Sky Cloak (its health remain the same at 13613).

Before I send a ticket, I wanna check if anyone else have the same issue as me?

@poptimus I don’t have the luxury of the older versions as I started the game in February. I was stuck for weeks at Islands in the Sky as my L is high but M is low. Had to grind hard to gain the M, plus strategically using the 3 free Eagle dishes to beat the single strong enemies to advance to next stages asap. Finally managed to beat Mouth Pool at L56. Then at the caves, I used the exp potions to quickly level up to L70.

So, if you can beat Mouth Pool at L40, great for you!

Thanks @jamairoqui and @toolow for the insights. I am L70/M45 without any upgrading and my banner sets are also not yet L72 nor upgraded. As such, it took me 3 weeks to get onto Platinum from Gold, and I am content to just stay here without aiming for Diamond.

To play it safe, i will try to start on Wed evening / Thu morning, and if needed grind like hell to stay within Platinum

@jamairoqui, @angryde, @smwforever45 , so am I right in my understanding that the system will start to match up the 15-player group upon the time I first played the arena, for example if I start on a Friday it will only group a 15-player team that starts on Friday?

I am in Platinum and so far always starts on Monday, and it is crazy trying to even stay at even the 1-2 star range. I am thinking to start this Thu/Fri given the Easter event.

Do not open the ranking screen (including the event types). I have 9 out of 10 crashes within a minute after opening it (usually in other screens especially battles). When i refrain from opening the ranking screen, I experience almost no crashes at all. if you really want to check the ranking, go to the screen, forcibly close the game and restart the game, before attempting another battle.

That’s my experience, not sure whether it is applicable to yours or not, good luck!

@poptimus so you mean that if I got KO’ed during my turn, I will have to wait 3 more turns i.e. the 4th turn before they are revived?

@eric-nau I started the game also on 1 Feb, and was stuck at Island In the Sky for 2 weeks. During this time, I had the exact same problem – leveling up quickly but then the piggies got more powerful than I and thus extremely frustrating (MPC was Level 27, Snowy Peak 3 was Level 32).

I took the advice to start focusing on increasing Mastery at the lower levels, and grinding for lots of tomoatos for the chili potion. Luckily for me the Valentine Day’s event was on during that time, and I managed to get 3-stars rating and got 6000 mastery for all, which helped me jumped 5 Mastery Levels. I finally managed to beat Island in the Sky at Level 41, and it was a breeze for me for the next few stages until Square Forest 3 and I was stuck until Level 47. I past this stage by using the free Mighty Eagle Dish (yah it seems like cheating). I finally cleared Wizpig’s Castle at Level 53, again using another Dish).

So the morale of the story, grind grind grind to increase mastery, use the grinding to get lots of ingredients for potions, and use the Dish at the most critical juncture to just get that level over and done with!

Can someone enlighten me, I noticed that when fighting arena battles, when my birds are KO, they seem to recover 1 and sometimes even 2 turns slower than the opponents (and this is during the absence of the Esquire banner or chuck’s set). For example, first my Chuck were KO, then during my turn I KO the opposing Bomb, but after 2 turns the opposing Bomb got revived before my Chuck (i.e. Bomb got revived after 2 turns without the Pig Esquire), and occasionally Chuck got revived after 1 more turn (for a total of 4 turns). In such cases, I usually lose the battle.

Is it a known bug, a specifically-me bug, or just a feature that adds to the uncertainty of the game? Given that it only occurs about a third to half of the time, it is not feasible to take photo snapshots of the battle, and videoing this is also impossible.

@smwforever45 I will let you know when I reach that stage. Originally I was trying not to attempt the caves given the huge amount of experience for completing the first-try (this way when the game allows up to level 80, I will then use the caves to quickly level up), but given the mastery, and the fact I have not get the advance GPM, will try to go for it this week!

I can confirm that the jeweled chest at Level 13-5 of the caves also gave out 1000 mastery to all birds in addition to Level 12-5

@angryde I figured out what caused the crash for my case – whenever I looked at the ranking of my team and then get out of that screen, after a few seconds the game will just crash. Almost guaranteed for my case. So now I refrained from looking at the player ranks and score and no crashes since. This also happens when I check the player ranking and scores in the Arena. I am using Apple IOS BTW

The only one other issue for me is the freezing of the game (not crash out). It happened when I WON the Tinker Titan, rolled the maximum 400 medals and while I have not used up my 2X video (it froze when I click on the video). I had to manually close the game and thus lost 800 medals…worse still, I used up over 10 chili potions and watched the 20% increase attack/health video….ARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I sent a support ticket and made a complaint, see how customer support will respond then

@burbman Yes, I’m working hard on the current event – now with a comfortable lead with over 50k trophies while No. 2 is about 36k. Hopefully will the mastery boost I will be able to go through the stages much quicker

@burbman I managed to get the Blue’s treasure hunter, and beat the Royal Bodyguard! At the moment I am level 48 but Mastery is max 10 for 3 of my bird classes while the rest are mostly 7. I agree with you that the level vs mastery it totally unbalanced. I have a feeling that I will get the level 70 while most of my birds’ mastery is less than 20 (fingers crossed!) at this rate.

Will do @burbman! I am crossing my fingers I will get the blues’ treasure hunter set in the valentine event – the 65% chance of resetting the charge turn by one will be very useful!
