e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistRecruiting again; updated clan info above!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistThanks for the reply! And I see your reply in the other forum as well. I suspect the issue with Frost would be this – when a pig takes damage, Frost’s hypnotism wears off.
This would only seem to be important in the arena.
In Arena, if Frost hits 1-5 pigs and hypnotizes them, and then hits the Smart Bomb after hitting them, it would damage the pigs and his hypnotism would be broken.
This would seem to be a small risk, as Frost has an SS1 at higher levels and the Smart Bomb doesn’t drop until turn 3, but I can see the issue.
In any case, as a general note, if anyone is still worried that the Smart Bomb is usable by your arena opponent, this is no longer the case. It was a VERY real concern before it was fixed. But it has been fixed at some point. With the caveat I mentioned: If the Smart Bomb gets upgraded by Byron/Steve, then it becomes pick-up-able by your opponent!
@metztli013 – I am going to cross-post this to the other forum as well to share the info for those who don’t use this board. Thanks!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistQuick question: what is the perceived problem with Smart Bomb?
It used to be that your arena opponent could pick up the Smart Bomb and use it against you, but that has been fixed for a VEEEEERY long time.
I have noticed that your opponent can use it IF it has been upgraded by the likes of Byron or Steve. But as long as you watch out for that specific situation, the Smart Bomb can actually be very helpful as many birds who do not have quite enough power to kill all the pigs on their own are able to do so with the help of the Smart Bomb.
Is there a new problem with it that maybe I haven’t heard about yet?
Thanks for any info!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistThe clan is level 18 now, by the way!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@xj650maxim – I sent all three of you invitations to join last night. You’re welcome to join if you wish! But please do so soon if you can. There are 4 spots open, but other requests to join. Thanks!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@pret – Yes you can! Either send a request or let me know your in game name to invite you.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistIt did
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistAmanda, assuming your in game name is Amanda, you just did! Merry Christmas!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistClan currently has 58,965 event points
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@metztli013 – The (long-overdue) ability to search up players is very helpful, yeah? It’s about time we could do that!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistI only log in every few days now, so usually when I do, there is a Golden Pig available. Since I haven’t seen one in the last couple days, I was wondering what happened.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistThe spots were filled, but then a couple members disregarded rule 1, so there are again a couple spots open.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistLike the film character his is a parody of, he is a defector with a secret.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistI have two Patsies from time to time. He’s kind of hard to kill so I hate it when I get more than one.
Birds who have been super-evolved prior to level 60 belong to players that played during the game’s Beta period, before global release.
Even if I had a screenshot, I am not sure how I could show the latest annoying anomaly I encountered. I have made it to level 2o in Pecker’s Challenge several times, but never past it. I was in level 20 last night, low on health, but only had two pigs left to defeat and both had low health. Carson’s circle covered them and they said ‘KO’ above their heads. They were standing in the back left corner near a portal.
I released Carson’s attack and………nothing happened. Basically like the attack got absorbed into the portal. Both pigs were undamaged, and subsequently killed me. I suppose I could have spent gems to revive and try again, but that’s not my style. I want to defeat level 20 without reviving. So I guess I’ll try again after reset today!
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@metztli013 is probably correct. You are only allowed to invite people to your clan if you are a Leader, Co-Leader, or Elder.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistOpen the game, go to your profile, and see if the Facebook button says “Login” (meaning you are not logged in) or “Logout” (meaning you are logged in).
If you are logged out, log in, the close the app. That will ensure your progress is synced. Delete the app, reinstall, and your progress will be saved.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@burbman – Doh! I hate when glitches like that happen! :(
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@sutekh137 – Come on, don’t get too down! The best piece of advice in this thread is this here: “Use Witch, she’ll go a long way in keeping your own Banner up.”
I never even considered using her until a post in another thread convinced me to try. Seriously, try her. With a banner that has taken some damage so you can tell the difference, heal it with her once. Then heal it with her again the next turn and prepare to start hating the Arena just a little less.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistThe adult humor in-game is veiled enough that kids won’t get most of it, but some of the innuendos are pretty naughty when you think about them. One that made me laugh out loud was when Don Bacon was giving out Bacon Juice and said “BJs for everyone!”
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@bubbley – You will be missed! I am not as much a part of this community as you, but the same happened to me. I am still logging in once per day to get my calendar item, but 3 weeks ago, I all but quit Epic as well.
I moved on to Angry Birds Evolution. I am thinking about quitting that too, but you may want to try it. If you do, make sure you avoid this mistake that I made – one of the reasons I am considering quitting. Unlike Epic, you want to play the campaign part of the game only up until you have unlocked the RED area, then quit and play it no more. In Epic, you wanted to defeat levels as quickly as possible (like Mouth Pool) to “lock in” the power of the enemies there. It is the opposite in Evolution. You need to unlock all the colored areas, but then if you progress any further, you are setting yourself up with STRONGER enemies in any battle you fight from then on. So do it until the RED area, and never again.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistEverything I said in my long-winded post was valid. But here is a much simpler reason I have lost the desire to play this game:
In Angry Birds Evolution, you cannot enjoy the core gameplay very often.
If you want to play regular old Angry Birds, you want to slingshot birds into pigs, houses, TNT, and such any time you want. That is how you play the game; it’s what makes the game fun to play. If you want to play Angry Birds Epic, you want to choose a team and defeat a team of pigs any time you want – the strategy of fighting is the fun. If you want to play Super Mario Run, you want to run Mario through levels and collect coins and get to the end, any time you want – that’s what is fun. If you want to play Words With Friends – you want to spell words for large amounts of points – any time you want, and if you run out of friends to play with you can start a solo game. Spelling words is what is fun!
When I play Angry Birds Evolution, I want to slingshot my birds into a square filled with pigs. Use strategy to hit them from behind, use the most effective Super Shots, etc. That is the CORE GAMEPLAY of the game! It’s what makes the game fun! But there are only two ways to do that: (1) Wait an hour for a scout to revive, then get to play 1-2 battles or (2) Win 10 arena battles – which I don’t enjoy, can take quite awhile, and indeed HAS ITS OWN TIME LIMIT – to get 10 keys so you can do a dungeon and enjoy one 3-wave battle.
I want to fight! I want to battle pigs! But I can’t do it any time I want. I cannot simply open the game and enjoy the CORE GAMEPLAY of the game any time I want! In fact, I can only enjoy battling once or twice per hour!
With 10 minute timers, you still had to wait A FEW MINUTES after you used up all scouts. But basically you could ACTUALLY PLAY THE CORE GAMEPLAY of the game pretty much any time you wanted. With 1 hour timers, you ALMOST NEVER can.
If you think about it, when you spend real money to purchase gems or berries to revive your scouts, you are literally paying Rovio just to play the basic functionality of their game. Sure, you do this for MMORPGs, but for an Angry Birds game?!
Yeah, yeah, another long-winded post I know. But after I thought about it for awhile, I finally realized what REALLY killed the game.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistYou have already seen my long-winded post about this. I agree with your decision completely and for all the same reasons you listed. Especially this one:
“I feel a lot better after having regained control again.”
I know it is not easy. But as soon as Scout Timers went up to 1 hour (for those of us who had 10 minute timers), it turned a game that could be played a leisure into a game where you are a slave to the grind. I fully support your decision, and congratulations on the FREEDOM!
I am the kind of guy that basically plays one game at a time. I am looking for a new one that is actually fun, and not overly-limiting, to play. When I find it, I will try to remember to post back here and tell what it is.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artistI just created a new post called ‘Slave To The 1 Hour Timer’ that tells how I really feel about this change. But like you, I feel that a game I really liked has no joy left. It feels like doing homework now, not like playing a game. And I cannot imagine that I will be able to stick with it for too much longer unless the timers go back down to reasonable levels.
e5c4p3artist@e5c4p3artist@googleeyes – I don’t have an answer for you. I have been trying to remember to log in every couple of hours, but I hate games where I have to schedule play time like that and all of the joy has gone out of the game for me.
