    @angryjohnny Thanks for this feedback: patient I will be, so – not that there is much choice anyways :D

    @auressaion

    Hello all,

    Eight days ago I reported the bug that @werehamsta and @wadeberlin were telling about (and that I was already telling about 3 weeks before, actually).

    So far I got *no* update at all from Rovio. Actually I did not hear about the 3 tickets I opened on ABE. How serious is their support, usually?

    For what is worth, here are the subjects of the requests I created:
    – Banner Items : grade (stars) dIsplay errors
    – AI “cheating” during an Arena fight? (cf. this post)
    – Items I enchanted are now disenchanted! :( (cf. this post)

    @auressaion

    @vyse12012 I confirm what @bubbley affirms :) No more ads since I bought the package, and it was a loooong while ago.

    The only ads remaining are the ones offering free things, i.e. Caves Ad-Chest, free rolls on the Golden Pig Machines.

    For what is worth, ads are not crashing the game on Andy 0.41 emulating a GT-P5200 (Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1). They are slow as hell (think “slideshow” with 3 to 10 slides maybe -_-‘ ), but they are successfully passed nonetheless.

    @bubbley
    I will definitely have to check the caves, as I was convinced that chests did not reappear just like that. *blush*. Am I right supposing that it can reappear in any cave already cleared? Is there a fight in order to be able to open it?

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @bubbley

    Thanks for the clarification, so maybe I was not missing the golden pig fight that often, after all ;)

    Lucky Coins are obtained through:
    – Calendar, 5 (on day #7) + 10 (on day #14) + 20 (on day #21) + 30 (on day #28 – you can miss one day on February 2016, woohoo). Total: 65 a month
    – Calendar, 1 additional LC each day when connected to a Facebook account (on Android; don’t know if it’s different on Apple). Total : on average, 30 a month.
    – Cave chests: none after you cleared the caves. The ad-chest doesn’t show everyday I think, and the chance of getting 1 LC by watching an ad is small either way. I did not even counted it into the LC source.
    – Golden Pig Fight: let’s say it appears every 3 days (worst case), that’s 10 more LC (at first I was counting 30 LC with it).

    Grand total : 65 + 30 + 10 = 105 LC/month. For a dedicated person. Not counting the additional LC obtainable via the caves ad-chest nor the ones obtained during the events (because well, we don’t know when there will be such an event ; the next one might just be the last).

    I am intrigued by the “plus 7 (possible with FB friends)” that you mentioned. I do not have FB friends (no comment :P) so I was not aware about that – to my mind all that could be obtained from FB friends is Friendship Essence?

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @grimmjow

    OK for the calculation, thanks for adding on this.
    Someone very dedicated and not as distracted as I am (I was convinced that the golden pig was not popping every day – maybe I just miss the pop-up from time to time ;) ) could gain 125 LC a month (given they are connected to a Facebook account). I suppose I am closer to 105 LC a month (I do not fight the golden pig more than every 2 days, and usually miss 2 to 4 Calendar days).

    3630 divided by 125 is 29 months (of course you’d better pray that Rovio does not add 2 new legendary items per month, not even 1 actually, because it would add more items per month than can be enchanted without paying).

    OK, one does not have to fully enchant all the legendary stuff, so let’s divide by 3. 10 months is almost reasonable.

    On my side, I will probably have stopped playing the game long before that though, because of the lack of PvE content and of the lack of interest of the Arena mode (for the first time I am really trying to reach Diamond League, but clearly neither do I have the stuff (L12 birds with L52 legendary items, poor banner items though), nor the time (yesterday, top 3 ranged from 35k to 42k when I was having a hard time reaching 26k – in Platinum League FWIW) – plus some fights are bugged to the bone, AI-Wise: yesterday I saw the opponent taking two Chili Rage, one after the other, during the same turn ; needless to say, I lost that fight TT ).

    All in all, you’re correct. But I won’t be that patient, that is (almost :) ) for sure.

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    So, the Calendar will not give more than 8 shards a month, eh.
    55 shards are needed to fully enchant a set item, so… if you’re not into buying Lucky Coins, that’s about 7 months to fully upgrade ONE item. Arena fights involve 8 items… that’s 4.5 years of Calendar, assuming that one will launch the game almost every single day in the meanwhile.

    This has to be a joke. Is it the 1st of April already, in Finland? :D

    Not holding my breath either, clearly the Arena is now meant only for people that pay (the others can still play, but they should not expect to win, eh eh). And I am not one of those, just because the prices are damn too high. I bought the smallest LC package once, just to get rid of the ads. I do not regret it at all (ad-free games are a must ;) ), yet I regret the time when the game was really enjoyable. Strangely reminds me of Clash of Clans, again. :/

    @auressaion

    Damn, I am starting to think that bugs are a way of life in this game.

    Just encountered a team in the Arena, the AI obviously “cheated” during the fight:
    – Red, Chuck, Bomb. Not 100% sure, but likely Paladin, Wizard, Pirate. Did not pay enough attention to their items (I should have taken a screenshot :/ )
    – Banner Blessed Blanket + Blessed Idol, emblem “Time Jump”.

    AI goes first.
    All three birds triggered the “Time Lapse”. Given the 10% probability that “Time Lapse” provides, there is one chance over 1000 that this happens – that’s not the first time I see this ; to my mind what is implemented is closer to 33%.
    Only my Red survived the first wave; I attacked the banner, knowing that the match was already over.
    Then comes the fun: opponent Red used the Chili ability (showing that it feels pretty fast :/ ), hitting my banner pretty hard. Then Chuck also used the Chili ability. That’s the second time I see this; first time I thought that I made a mistake – today I am very sure. Then Bomb had a normal turn and hit the banner, game over.

    Two bugs in one fight… (or one bug showing 2 different aspects?). Doh.

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Holy crap, the items I enchanted are not enchanted anymore, except for one: the item I first enchanted when the game forced me to do so. All other enchants, gone. Needless to say, the enchant shards I used in order to enchant the items did not magically reappeared. How on earth is it possible to bug a software that much?! Next step, report to Rovio. Will do that right away.

    EDIT 2016/01/06 19:26 CET: Report done :)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @craig If the star you are missing is neither in the caves nor on the map, then it’s likely to be in the (hidden) Maelstrom: head for the giant whirlpool, north of the nest, south of the Desert Island, between Limestone Lagoon #1 and #6.

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    On Christmas event. I 3-starred the 20 first levels. The star counter close to Santa Pig, near the Golden Cloud Castle (suppose that’s the English name – French locales over here :) ) reads 63/85. The figures are the same for at least 8 levels (did not pay attention earlier). Definitely looks as if something was wrong with it. Maybe it will start to increase after I gain the 63rd star?

    EDIT (2015/12/23 10:20 UTC) : Indeed, the counter shows the correct number after the 63rd star :)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Something is wrong with the display of the banner items (Arena zone) I already won, and with the items I win from the Golden Pig Machine:
    – All my non-set tops are showing 2 stars
    – All my non-set flags are showing 1 star (even the last that I won today after looking at ad ; it was 3 star according to the GPM, yet it displays as a 1-star within the banner menu – the boost it provides is typically a 3-star one, though, so I suspect the bug is only graphical)
    – All my non-set emblems are showing 2 stars.

    Can provide screenshots about the last flag I won, if need be.
    Anyone seeing the same issue?

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Doh? You met in the Arena some people from here, for real? Amazing! :)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @donewithpigs @all: Same is true for Metal Bar and Squarewood, actually – they all have the same “enchanting power” :)

    About this “enchanting power”, there is a simple relationship between resources actually :
    – Floatsam, Wood, Seashell, Stone have the lowest “power”. Level 1 is 25 of those, Level 2 is 70, L3 140, L4 250, L5 465, L6 865, L7 1290, L8 1740, L9 2215, L10 2715. (figures are cumulated totals to go from level 0 to level N, not the number of resource needed to go from level N to level N+1).
    – Cobalt Stone, Limestone, Seastar, Corals, Fossil, Ore, Slingshot Twig, Paper and Bamboo have middle “enchanting power”: you need 2.5x less of those as compared to Tier 1 resources.
    – Squarewood, Metal Bar and Rainbow Shells have the highest power: you need 6.25x (2.5² :D ) less of those as compared to Tier 1 resources.

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @donewithpigs: “only 50 rainbow shells” ?!
    I think I did not used much of this resource, and I have only 19 of them. Sure I did not grind for those either, as it is the rarest resource and item-crafting resources are fairly useless when you have set items anyways.

    … after some Rainbow Shell crafting (from Corals), it appears that the first 5 grades (on a level 52 set item) are worth 75 Shells. To achieve the same result with Seastars costs 186 of those (and 1086 total to get the whole +10 grades). For those who grinded Star Reef Castle (don’t look at me… uh, well, ok, I did it), it could be the most convenient resource to enchant items. Well, aside from the rarity of Enchantment Shards, that is.

    @grimmjow
    : Never occured to me that Arena could work that way. I see plenty of 10 to 12 mastery level birds. Rarely I run into a level 1 Red with the starting gear, all alone – e.g. the bird of someone who left the game early. Thinking to it, I almost never encounter mastery 2 to 8 birds. Until then I was thinking that this was the result of the match-making algorithm (occasionnally suffering a hiccup ;) ) and that the birds selected for the fight were the ones that their owner last selected, included their gear.
    But your theory might be correct as well, cannot tell. :)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @grimmjow Sounds like a VERY GREAT IDEA indeed :)
    Some (most?) poeple might have finished the solo campaign a long time ago though. Occasionnally my kid replays a fight that he particularly likes. But in order for him to play again a whole campaign, something should be changed. Aside from the (somewhat grindy) events, what would be fantastic is secondary (selectable) scenarios, resulting in different travels throughout the map, even if this travel would use the same places (given that the fights are harder ones).

    Well, dreaming is still allowed, yeah? :D

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @angryjohnny OK, I admit I did not reach to ABE’s twitter account, so I did not find earlier that “In January you will also get [Enchantment Shards] from the Calendar and the Arena Reward Wheel”. Sure that is already something. Very curious to see whether it will allow anyone to fully enchant even one set for each bird + two sets in the arena (i.e. about 770 enchant shards). Within a reasonable amount of time, that is (say, less than 6 months).

    In my opinion (but I may be stubborn at times, I know), that does not remove anything to the fact that this clearly is (yet another) “pay-to-win” feature.

    Well, at least the solo part of the game is enjoyable by itself, without the need to enchant anything. That’s something too :)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @angryjohnny: uh, wat’s the point in posting this? 5 free shards, woohoo!!
    Read my post, we are talking about 3.080 (three thousands) shards total in order to upgrade only the set items, to their max level. Ya know, the set items that will be depreciated once the max level is raised – as of course the set items are not automatically upgradedupon the birds gaining a level.

    Jeez, the logic behind such game mechanisms is beyond my understanding.

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    … Christmas update, and ABE suddenly became a Pay-to-Win, for real. TT

    I did the same calculcation that @orinocopl did… except that he missed quite a few sets. Every bird now has 4 sets, i.e. 8 “legendary” items. 5 birds times 8 items, that’s 40 items.
    Arena-wise, there are 8 sets, for a total of 16 items (1 set = 1 banner + 1 spike)
    On set items, 10 levels of enchant is worth 55 enchant shards (not to mention 1.455 snotlings and 2.715 basic resources).
    (by the way, despite the “1000%” indicated for a level 10 enchant, the added power is 50% of the initial value. Not 10 times the initial value, but not bad either (and surely more than enough to make for a *real* difference in the arena)).
    So… 55 shards per items, times 56 items… That’s a whooping 3080 shards (for now), i.e. 62 “x50 shards” buyouts. At 125 Lucky Coins each, we are talking about 7750 Lucky Coins. A mere €240. A bit hefty for a Free-to-Play, isn’t it?

    RIP Angry Birds Epic (at least its Arena Mode, that will obviously be trusted by rich fluffy bunnies), RIP Clash of Clans after SuperCell’s incredible update on last week… who’s next? Now I am wondering… Could there be something wrong in Finland’s water or air for some months? Something that would render people greedy and cynical as hell, maybe?

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @bubbley I do not doubt the solution you detailed is working. Read me again: I simply do not have friends whose birds I could borrow :P

    Thanks for hoping in and repeating the strategy in here (for the 13th time at least :D ); that’s more direct than the link I posted to the walkthrough ;)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Ditto :)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    @steve-helderman @camthc Same here, 1026 stars out of 1056 total.
    Strange thing is that Caves usually come two-by-two, if I remember. Let’s see what the next update will bring.

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Hello again :)

    I just managed to 3-star this boss, using the advices that @kerravon gave on this thread, *and* a lot of cakes (I know some consider potions/cakes cheating – I don’t :P ).

    Team was composed of:
    – Chuck (mastery 12 Wizard hat, level 52 “Twin Lightning” set)
    – Blues (mastery 12 Marksmen hat, level 52 “*BEEP* Attack!” set)
    – Prince Porky (borrowing a bird from a friend was not a valid option)

    First, Marksmen performed a normal attack on the boss, then I gave 2 Burning Veggie Cakes to the birds, then I fed the chili to Chuck, then normal attack from Prince Porky.
    Dark Shaman attacked Chuck for about 1.5k damage.
    Next turn : 1 Greater Pig Cherry Juice on Chuck, 1 Burning Veggie Cake on Blues, 1 Pretty Fruit Cake to Prince Porky (“better safe than sorry”). Chili to Chuck, normal attack from the 2 others.
    Next turns : 1 Burning Veggie Cake + 2 Pretty Fruit Cakes. Chili to Chuck, normal attack from the 2 others.
    6 attacks total where needed to KO the boss, with a grand total of 8 Pretty Fruit Cakes, 7 Burning Veggie Cakes, 1 Greater Pig Cherry Juice consumed. Don’t remember the final score, I assume it was 46500.

    Woops, just found this walkthrough. Comments give solutions to 3-star without cakes nor potions… but with a level 50 mastery 12 bird (with the right set) borrowed from someone else. Which I couldn’t do, so the cakes/potions appeared the way to go (buying the needed potions is 1650 snoutlings: not that pricey after grinding SRC for hours…)

    As for the missing 30 stars, there is this thread already… Too bad I did not looked for this first ;)

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Bump. Did anyone succeed in 3-starring the boss in Cave 17? I sure did not.

    Also, something a bit off-topic but still: I noticed on yesterday that the game is telling me that I won 1025 stars (“Nest” view, tap on the 7-bird statue, then “Star collection”), out of *1056*. The thing is, I am reasonably sure that I 3-starred every level but the boss of Cave #17 (2 stars).

    So… The game is telling that I missed 30 stars – yet I cannot see where they are.
    Is it just me? Could it be a hidden #18 cave? Could it be a bug (highly unlikely, but who knows? :P )

    auressaion
    @auressaion

    Hello all,

    Did not encounter this “Updating Your Progress” bug – I sure hope it won’t happen at all. It may be related to the fact that I am not logged to Facebook anymore, as the game “refused” all my attempts to log in after the first Halloween update? (by “refused”, I mean that login was successful on Facebook, but the game acted as if I did not logged in. Anyways).

    I confirm the “Where are the turkeys?!” ‘bug’ though.
    Just played about 30 minutes, across 7 or 8 nodes I think. Got about 30 turkeys, with 0 being the minimum (twice or thrice maybe), 2 being regular (twice or thrice also) and 18 being the maximum. So, based on a rate of 1 turkey per minute, it would take about 50 hours to reach 3.000 turkeys. Needless to say, I give up – the gameplay is simply not interesting enough to spend that much time on it. Come on Rovio, like seriously? 50 hours for *ONE* competition? Within 6 days? Is this meant for real (“Dude, our gamers are soooooo addicted they will spend their days playing the game just to get the maximum award”), or is it more basically that at least one designer sucks at maths (and the updates for ABT are not tested before being released, else this would have been seen)?

    Good luck to all, have fun if you can (but I seriously doubt that on ABT :s ).
