Hi @jkhab69. Have had this problem on several games from time to time. Even games that don’t require network connectivity to play, sometimes attempt to connect on startup, I presume for checks in the background for updates or whatever. You can try activating airplane mode, loading the game, then deactivating airplane mode. That has worked every time for me so far (I also play on iPad). Hope this helps. Good luck.

Bit slow off the mark here as didn’t notice this thread. Same thing has happened to me several times this week, and I assumed it was a problem with my iPad, so I’ve been rebooting to try to resolve it (I’m not particularly IT-savvy so often try that as a first resort if something goes wrong!). At least now I know it’s not just me. Thanks guys.

@mvnla2 : instability on Seasons Back to School 1-20. Concrete block supporting top right pig sometimes topples off to the left for 10K+. Happened 3 times playing today’s challenge, but first 2 times I’d already released Stella before I noticed it. This time I waited so I could snap a screen shot. Happens about 5 seconds after resetting. Infrequent though.

@mvnla2 Partial Self-destruct : ABS Cinco de Mayo 3-13

Quite a bit of instability in this level, with both of the far right structures. Both events happen quite often

1. The farthest right structure sometimes wobbles and slides until one of the small blocks falls off and kills the pig on the cannon for 5K+. Maybe this will help as the first shot sometimes doesn’t take out this pig.

2. The tallest structure with the TNT inside is very unstable. Often rocks from side to side a few seconds after reset and sometimes collapses to the left for 4-5K.. So far for me this has actually spoiled the first shot because of the way the debris lies.

Playing for daily challenge and noted that this is a very unstable level sometimes resulting in partial self-destruct. After resetting, left side rock slowly rolls to the right and drops into the gap after about 1 or 2 seconds, usually giving scores of around 700-900. But sometimes it causes the whole of the structure it is on to collapse to the left. In 20 resets just now I had 7 times in all that the rock moved. Twice this resulted in a collapse, for 13740K and 18140K:-

I first noticed this @timewaster99 when the Egg Snatcher update was released. I was as irritated as you and posted in one of the new walkthrough levels asking the same question – how to get rid of them. You can’t, period. I think it is ridiculous that so much of the screen is taken up with these unwanted icons, and they interfere significantly with game play. The “solution” to zoom out doesn’t work for me. My eyesight isn’t that good so I play all AB games zoomed in. I have been a huge fan of angry birds for years, and Seasons was one of my favorites until now. Unless there’s a daily challenge I hardly ever play Seasons anymore, as this new screen design has totally ruined the game in my opinion. I think that Rovio have produced some excellent games over the years, and I appreciate that they, like any other company, need to make a profit. But on this occasion they have sacrificed quality in pursuit of profit, and spoiled one of their best offerings. Such a shame.

Seasons Ski or Squeal level 22 – There’s an occasional partial (small) self destruct here. Stove in lowest structure slides to the right occasionally, then sometimes the TNT topples to the left and explodes. Happened two times only so far in over 100 shots. Only gives +/-1250 points so far and no advantage seen, but will keep checking.

Hi @mvnla2. I posted a comment on the walkthrough page of Ski or Squeal 1-5 during the recent challenge. It wasn’t until I saw the post from @kathy today that I remembered you like these comments posted here too. So here is my observation again, and it’s happened lots of times since:-

Ski or Squeal 1-5 : Partial self-destruct. Right side tower is very unstable and sometimes collapses on its own. Happened several times now but with widely varying outcomes. Sometimes falls to the left, sometimes to the right., giving scores of.between 6K and 15K. Wobble starts within 1-2 seconds of reset. Frequency varies from 3 collapses in 10 resets to more than 15 without a collapse. So far haven’t been able to get better total scores as a result but still trying!! Anyone else had more luck with this?

@mvnla2 sounds fine. It didn’t help my final score, but I think potentially it could. It might make way for the rest of the right side to collapse more freely and result in less debris. I just didn’t have a good follow up shot (nothing new there lol!).

@mvnla2 Since your post I thought I’d repeat the level s few times and see if it happened again. It did, and after only 8 restarts. This time for 330 points:

Then it happened again after another 5 restarts (for 210 points).

I only saw it happen twice when I was playing for the challenge. However, this might be because of shooting bird 1 straight after resetting, because I noticed something this time about the timing of the collapse. I play zoomed in, so after a few seconds the display scrolls to the left to reveal the sling (the structure “jiggles” a but first). The collapse then happens about 2 seconds AFTER the scrolling, which is probably why I first noticed it after launching the first bird. Second time I saw it during the challenge I’d already pulled red back in the sling, but was able to abort the shot to take the screen pic.

Since starting this note I’ve gone back and played another 50 shots with no collapse since the first 2 happened in quick succession. So it seems really random.

Sorry – I commented on the walkthrough page yesterday for the Trick or Treat challenge, but I think you prefer comments here, so I copied my post:

I noticed a partial self-destruct in the level. It’s happened twice now, but a lot of play in-between, so I think it’s not common. The first time I wasn’t sure, as I’d just released red when I saw the lower left structure lean and topple a bit. Since then I’ve been looking for it again, and this time I was able to abort slinging red and get a screen capture. I don’t know if this would help anyone with a better score – I wasn’t able to capitalize on it – but just for the record anyway. I play on IPad Air. Here’s the link to the pic:

Hi again @justpast40. I have another level that is definitely easier to play now. Pig Days 1-1. It’s still a difficult level, but the glitch is gone, and it’s easier to get higher scores than before. It used to drive me really crazy, yet I just got top score today. You can see details in my post on the PD 1-1 walkthrough page if you want. Hope you get more posts sometime soon :))

Great idea @justpast40. After seeing a post from pauliboy to mvnla2 about partial self destruct in Seasons Easter Eggs Golden Egg #17, I gave it a go. I increased my score by 10K in just a few minutes. Only thing is, I don’t know if this is something to do with the update. You have to wait a while for the cart to blow up spontaneously (I only had the one cart blow, and not two so far), so it might be that I just didn’t wait for it to happen when I first played the level. I mean, why would you do that lol? Anyway, no harm to mention it.

Finn Ice level 6. Ice column on left will sometimes topple over to the left. So far this happens only after the first shot has been played. No obvious trigger (eg blue birds after being split do not hit the column). Just topples on its own. Happens quite often (maybe every 10-15 resets), but sometimes twice in a row.

Thanks for the reply @kelani. Maybe you’re right about the trajectory tracks. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t alter gameplay like I said, it’s just the appearance, and liking it or not is just down to personal preference. Guess I’m just getting to be a grumpy old man lol :)

Just a small gripe. Is there any reason why the background colors on Rio Golden Beachball have changed? When I look on screenshots and videos on the walkthroughs the sky colors are blue and white, but on my version they are yellow, brown and orange. This makes the whole screen much the same color, which is drab and unnatural. Game play is the same, but the aesthetics have been lost I think.
