@desperate-Dan,  As Sparty83, I have not entered any Classic scores. As my alter-ego, Sparty83_2, I have entered classic scores. If it’s a top score, I deleted it. (i did this primarily for the ability to compare Original to Classic scores)

 

Since Classic has been out for over 2 weeks and the admins have not even made any sort of announcement, I believe there is zero chance they will make a separate leaderboard for classic. If they ever decide to, then I will delete those scores and move them to the new leaderboard.

 

In my opinion the @admins silence on this is deafening. No official word on how to address the new classic scores. ( but since an admin changed the leaderboards to allow scores that do not end in zero, implies that there will not be a new leaderboard and they are ok with classic scores loaded into the Original leaderboard)

Now that Rovio released Angry Birds Classic – I’ve fallen off the wagon – HARD

@gubbyman, i was able to one-bird it for 48k and 3 stars. it took a long time but i finally was able to.

if you think these are different, wait until you get to Ham’Em High. It’s the opposite. In less than a day, I was able to quickly get 3 stars on all levels, 7 overall top scores and topped my Original total by 80k (which i spent countless hours playing as each chapter came out). Since they don’t appear to be making a separate leaderboard, I entered those top 7 scores and jumped to #69 overall.

In my opinion, it doesn’t seem right to be able to cherry pick scores between the 2 different versions, which I did do. Now that people are able to enter scores from the new version over their Original scores, I don’t think there is any going back. (also, they are posting new walkthrough vids on the original leaderboard)

@chickenlover, not sure this could be considered a true announcement. Normally, announcements are created by an admin and show up on the main page. This is just a forum chat created by a user like you or myself. There hasn’t been any real announcement made by the admins about Angry Birds Classic yet.

2 things i have noticed so far.

1) levels with a lot of wood are easier than before. I have gotten a few high scores on levels with a lot of wood.

2) levels with a lot of bricks are much harder to get high scores. It seems like they either don’t break as easy or just don’t give up points.
Danger Above 3 Star Walkthrough Level 8-9 and Mine and Dine 3 Star Walkthrough Level 16-2 are, for me, very difficult to 3 star much less come close to my previous scores.

Just completed Ham’Em High. My episode total for the Original version is 4,678,490. My total for the new Classic is 4,758,659, About 80k better. And this was just quickly going through the levels to get 3 stars and feathers. I can only imagine what my scores would be if I spent the same amount of time on each level as I did 10-11 years ago when it first came out.

This is why I would like a separate leaderboard for the new classic. Would like to compare old to new

@mighty-Red-1, i’m guessing they could use all the help offered. I think there are 390 levels out in the new version so that would be a lot of vids to make. I have noticed a few differences in the 2 versions (original vs classic). The first, the Reverse Remi does not fly like in the original so using that shot is not the same as before. @grammyK, unless they create a new leaderboard for the new game, I doubt there will be much more traffic than what’s been happening for the past few months/years.

one of the best things is that the new version (currently) does not have power ups and no option (at this time) to buy/earn any so there is no question as to high scores.

just wondering if a new set of leaderboards will be made for the new Classic Angry Birds. The levels are supposed to be the same, but they don’t all end in a nice round 0 like the original. I haven’t made it through all the levels yet, but i think the walkthroughs could be the same. Also, guessing the 3 star thresholds would be the same.

Not sure about Angry Birds Go, but the Star Wars telepods works on my old LG G4 with android 6, my wife’s Samsung S8 with Android 9 but they don’t work on my Samsung S10 with Android 10. So it may just depend on phone and android version. Guessing you would have better luck with a device that originally worked with telepods. Going forward, I’m guessing they won’t work with much.

@kathy, You can play in airplane mode, but it does not save your progress if you have created an account. I found that out the hard way. I had beaten several high scores only to find out i was “offline” when i did it. When i re-connected to my account, all those high scores reverted back to the online saved lower scores. There is no sync between offline and online scores where it takes the higher of the 2.

I was able to connect on wifi this morning (7am eastern) and complete the daily challenge. I didn’t have time for more so I decided not to comment then. I just got done completing all 6 levels in today’s Mighty League, on wifi, with no issues. (6:20pm eastern)

Looks like whatever glitch/bug/error/issue we were all experiencing has been fixed/resolved.

Strange thing, I can play on my wife’s ipad. I have a second rovio account and can sign in to that and then switch to her facebook account in AB and it does not crash.  (the 2 accounts have different progress so it’s easy to see that it did switch profiles)

I can only open it in airplane mode. If I switch it back while the game is open, it crashes.(android phone). Problem is, I have an account that stores my progress on Rovios’s servers. On an Ipad, I don’t have my progress saved and therefore don’t sign in. On that, it works fine.

@kathy, in my example i did not fail the level. The level was complete when the extra bird showed up.

@karen68, the problem I see, is in the example above, I intentionally played it bad hoping for the extra bird. I did not want to beat my high score. I think I could have used all birds and gotten around 109-110k, given the extra bird, I would have broken my high score and absolutely no indication that I used an extra bird.

I just played a level Poached Eggs 2-3. After I used all birds and completed the level I got the popup like above.

I played the vid and was awarded another bird. I completed the level with out the extra so i was awarded 10k for having a bird left. On the tally screen where it showed my final score, it did NOT indicate a power up was used.

Using a power up – new high score or not, will show a lightening bold indicating a power up was used.

It looks like Angry Birds Original will have to be removed from the challenge since there is no way to verify high scores now.

I was having issues with Seasons crashing on my android (6.0) phone about 20 seconds after opening. It started yesterday, the 30th.  I never did try airplane mode. It would run fine on my wife’s ipad air (connected to the net). Today, 31 aug, around noon eastern us, i was able to get in to seasons and it stayed running. Have not has any crashes since. (now 820pm)

@kathy, i did go through and get screen caps loaded up, but then i re-read the rules. The episode needs to be 6 months old.  Already dropped out of top 20 on at least 1 level. I guess they won’t be locking down the leader boards for me. LOL

I have top 20 scores in all Jurassic Pork levels (for the time being). One is at an 18 so it’s close to dropping out of the top 20. Any change the leaderboards can be locked down for the next 6 months so I can get the Sharp Shooter badge?
(I figure that would be the only way I’ll ever get that one)

Cool feature @birdleader. I have to remember that for future use. I can see some walkthroughs becoming filled with screen caps when people earn puppies in the daily challenges.
