My excitement about playing the Arena is definitely fading. Two hours in to the new week, I open the Arena and first place already has 205 points. I think that is more than I have gotten in the last several weeks. They have all level 35 birds with knight hats and 22 first place results. Should be a fun time.

As said above, the KPC is extremely difficult and a real gem eater. An expensive lesson for me today since I am not a flinger with the wherewithal to procure unlimited gems. I hope I have learned a valuable lesson, but “Just when I thought I was out … They pull me back in.”

Interesting Arena league for me this week. Two “0”, three “1” and one “9”. The leader has 1373 and I am in fifth with 452. Obviously more tickets than I can use but I’ll be happy with the pearls in an off week.

I usually have so much trouble with the DC. The Bird Gods have been looking out for me the last three days. Beat all three without spending any gems. I had a mighty eagle and two golden ducks in my two chests.

Swoosh is in my arena league this week. I am usually able to hold my own, but when he/she gathered over 600 points in 5 hours last night, I knew it was time to hang it up for the week. I unlike many posters in this forum, am still enjoying playing the Arena, I just wish the daily challenge wasn’t such a “challenge”.

I have a quick question about the hats. All my birds have crowns right now. If and when I accumulate 500 pearls and buy one of the 500 pearl hats, will I have two hats or does the 500 pearl hat replace the 200 pearl hat? If it replaces the 200 pearl hat, has thought been given to reimbursing the 200 pearls or maybe only charging 300 additional pearls for the new hat? I really like AB2, but there definitely has been a major change in the match-ups in the arena since the latest update. Now I am lucky to win the first two matches, then I regularly get blown out by 3 or 4 million. It doesn’t help that I have one bird at 11, 3 at 10 and 3 at 9 and the match-ups are against 12s and 13s. It just seems like match-ups have gone from one extreme to another since the update.

The other question I have is how can someone (the person in 2nd in my league) already have an azure slingshot with no hats or crowns on their birds?

Anyway back to flinging with a bit of frustration.

@Hank I have been playing AB2 for a while and I wanted to comment on the latest update. I really like the changes that were incorporated in the update. Matches in the arena are fairer, there is more of a chance to conquer the daily challenge and I really like the new hats. I don’t know if it is an aberration but my league this week is the toughest I have been placed in yet. But beside that fact I would like to thank you, your team and Rovio for the changes.

There is one glitch that has been alluded to by several other members in this forum. Spells seem to disappear for no particular reason. I probably would not have noticed since I hoard my spells, but after using gems to get 6 mighty eagles and 9 inflated pigs, I noticed they slowly disappeared from my stash without me using them. I believe what is happening is that as you play the regular levels, the daily challenge, and the arena; if a spell is awarded because the destructo-meter is filled, a spell equivalent to the awarded spell is deducted from your saved stash. I appreciate how busy you are being short-staffed right now, but I thought this might be something that could be looked at when there is a chance. Thank you.

I mentioned this in another forum – I finished 2nd in an azure league (all my birds are level 5) and was promoted to a diamond league. The competition is a little tougher, but is near impossible when I am matched with an opponent with +10 cards. I still enjoy playing AB2 but am really frustrated with situations that are presented. The person in first in my league already has well over 150 points which is a great weekly total for me. Oh well, onwards.

@Aeshna – I appreciate your insights on these issues. Seeing how few scores are being posted on the scoreboards tends to verify your premise about how few people are playing AB2. I also encountered the connection problem you mentioned, my bad because patience isn’t always a virtue of mine. This game held such promise, but changes through the various updates have degraded the fun in the game and that is really too bad. I will continue to plod through although reaching level 8 with all my birds may be impossible without spending major money. I especially like your comment regarding duck tape and I also like your icon. Continued luck in flinging. Regards.

I just encountered a similar situation. I was away from AB2 for a couple of months so my birds are all level 4 and 5. I was competing in an Azure league last week where I finished second. Before this week I had one gold and one silver medal. I am now in a diamond league with 1 gold and 5 silver medals. I love AB2 but am really frustrated by the inconsistencies that occur regularly.

@hallfrog – I got the attached from Rovio today:

We’re sorry to hear that the game is causing trouble. The most probable cause for a device not being able to run the game is low memory capacity and/or graphics processing capabilities not being high enough. Unfortunately we cannot do much to fix this issue from our end. Angry Birds 2 can be extremely demanding for devices, the graphics are complicated, and they use a lot of the device’s graphics memory. Unfortunately at least 1GB RAM is required to run the game whereas your device only has 512MB RAM.

You could try to enhance the games functionality by:

a) having as much free space on your device’s memory as possible
b) not multitasking (close all background applications when starting the game)
c) restarting the device every now and then to release some memory

No real solution for me except to get a new iPad which isn’t happening.
