dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@mingkee27 I don’t know how you got “60+ mastery” from Demonic Wizpig. I just defeated him, and my Stone Guard only received the usual 14 mastery from a boss-type pig.
(I’m still just level 42, where the base mastery drop is 7 points – I expect it will increase to 8 at level 43.)
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@harleym Correct. Unlike games where the progression reward (e.g. experience points) is divided among the party members, in Epic, all of your birds receive the full reward.
@MVNLA2 meant CPC, yes. And chili-bombing the first wave can be highly efficient, if you are willing to spend time doing that. Most of us are lazy, which is why we let auto-play farm the entire castle (or at least up to Prince Porky) so we can do other stuff and only glance at Epic every 5 minutes or so.

dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@killerkea Sorry, but that’s incorrect. Only the scaling factors for the class skills are buffed – the bird’s own Attack and Health stats are not affected by the class upgrade.
For example, Red’s Knight class has an upgraded version, the Ronin. The attack skill for both of them is called “Attack.” The Knight’s version deals damage equal to 115% of Red’s Attack stat, while the Ronin’s version deals damage equal to 125% of Red’s Attack. The Attack stat itself is not changed, only the scaling factor of the skill.
The same type of buff can be seen on Chuck’s Mage->Archmage and Matilda’s Cleric->Moon Priestess upgrades, all of which are listed at http://angrybirds.wikia.com/wiki/Epic_Characters (I would have linked to ABN’s own class overview, but the upgrades aren’t listed there).
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@zackvoyager @mvnla2 It’s relative to your current base stats, so it’s always:
(1 + 0.1 * ([rank] - 1)) * [base stat]
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@kerravon I was able to reach Silver league, but since I stopped playing the arena a couple weeks ago I got demoted back down to Wood league last week. I got a Wood trophy, not Silver.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@joeyba You won’t have 6 classes, Corsair will replace Pirate.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@zackvoyager That’s exactly what I was thinking of when I said they “look reasonable,” I just forgot how to calculate it.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@partshade The reward for the mini-map campaign is a class for Red – Stone Guard. It doesn’t say anything about this Corsair class for Bomb.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@henjovr They mean stages, not experience levels – if the experience cap were raised above level 41, they would have stated the new cap directly.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@mvnla2 Those variances seem reasonable to me. My data showed Bomb way above average and Red way below, while yours showed the Blues somewhat below; combining our datasets brought them all closer to 14.3.
I guess I just feel comfortable drawing conclusions sooner than you do – I seem to remember having a similar discussion about the GPM. :)
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@mvnla2 I just achieved all rank 10s too! Well, Guardian isn’t rank 10 yet because the dojo bugged out after getting the next-to-last rank 10 – none of the buttons work right now – but I’ll have it in another 3 hours.
So, my final data on this topic!
- Total dojo visits: 188
- Snoutling offers per visit, final average: 5.98
Overall, I didn’t notice any effect on the dojo based on how many rank 10 classes or all-rank-10 birds I had – I ran a 20-period moving-average trendline in Excel, and other than one extended period of bad luck (where it dipped as low as 4.5), it hangs around in the range of 5.5 – 6.5 pretty consistently.
LC offers after buying all available snoutling offers Total visits with all 5 birds available: 153 Me ----------- All 131 28.54% Bomb 79 17.21% Chuck 67 14.60% Blues 65 14.16% Matilda 65 14.16% Red 52 11.33%This looks to me like a 2/7 chance (28.6%) for “All” and a 1/7 chance (14.3%) for each bird to be picked after the slot decides on an LC offer.
@mvnla2 – Is your data summed over all your visits, including the visits after one of your birds had all rank 10 classes? If not, you should trim it back to that point – the birds that finished early would otherwise be underrepresented in the complete data set.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@kerravon Thanks again!
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@killerkea Sweet! Stats from that video (ignoring full Rainbow Bars):
3 LC 3 LC 20 LC 20 LC Stars Count Freq Count Freq ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- 0 17 34.7% 1 21 42.9% 2 7 14.3% 16 37.2% 3 3 6.1% 22 51.2% S 1 2.0% 5 11.6% Total 50 43There are 2 possible interpretations of this data:
- DarkHunterRPG was unlucky on his cheap rolls, since 2% is significantly lower than the 5-6% indicated by all of the recent data.
- Rovio has increased the drop rate of set items at some point between August 2014 and now.
Either way, we can’t really put much confidence in the 11.6% number. Still, I’m pretty sure we can conclude that the expensive roll drop rate is nowhere near high enough to keep it on par with cheap rolls.
It’s too bad he never followed through on repeating that video after major updates, would have been really nice to have a similar number of data points as I have for both RR and non-RR cheap rolls.
Also interesting – expensive rolls are guaranteed to give at least a 2* item. Not like a whole lot of people care about that, though.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@chuyuet @graugeist We can work this out to a certain point from what we know.
- If you have 300 LC and spend them on Cheap Rolls, that gives you 100 rolls. Out of those 100, 2 of them will be on full Rainbow Bars, and on average you’ll get 5-6 items from the remaining 98 rolls (15-18 during Rainbow Riot), for a total of 7-8 set items (17-20 RR).
- If you spent 300 LC on Expensive Rolls instead, that gives you 15 rolls. 3 of those will be on a full Rainbow Bar, which means you’d have to get 4-5 items from the remaining 12 rolls, i.e. the drop rate would have to be ~35-40% (RR: 14-17 items, which is impossible).
I don’t think a 30% drop rate on Expensive Rolls is all that unrealistic. However, that would imply that the drop rate goes to 90% during Rainbow Riot, and that does seem a little unbelievable.[edit: rewrote bullet points to reflect how a roll on a full Rainbow Bar actually works]We really need someone who’s flush with LC to dump them all into expensive rolls… FOR SCIENCE!
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@admins I had posted a reply to @birdleader right after his post yesterday, but it seems to have gone MIA. It still shows on my activity feed, for some reason, so I’ll copy/paste it here:
Thanks @birdleader! Everyone else, I’ve updated the OP with a summary of the info that’s been covered in this thread (editorial assistance provided by @mvnla2). Let me know if there are any glaring omissions or inaccuracies that need to be corrected.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@freckledpig147 Since you haven’t been tracking statistics, you should trust the people who have. :)
There’s a thread about banner items: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/forums/topic/health-of-banner-items/ Note that it was started prior to the last major update that nerfed the health stat on set items.

dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@tigerussell Are you recording the number of stars on the non-set items you get? Or just the total counts of set items vs. rolls? If you are, I’d love to see your numbers. :D
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@celia888 He’s not saying there won’t be *ANY* more events until Christmas, he’s saying the that the Christmas event will probably repeat at Christmas.
Prior to the bugs that plagued the Christmas event, Rovio had been running an event once every 2 weeks, on average. It seems likely that they will resume that schedule now that the bugs have been fixed. The three events with achievements (Pirates, Ninjas, and Undead) will probably repeat somewhat frequently, with special-occasion events (like Christmas and Year of the Goat) thrown in whenever Rovio feels like doing one.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@burbman Seriously? A 5-LC GAPM roll only gives 2%, the same as a 3-LC GPM roll? Damn, I’m doubly glad I never wasted LCs on the GAPM now. Thanks!
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmaelThread necromancy, woot.
@cosmo2503 @kai92 I know it’s been a couple months, but since you guys rolled a ton on the GAPM, do you remember how many rolls it took to fill the Rainbow Bar? I can’t seem to find this answer on the forum, and I don’t have enough LCs to find it out for myself.
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@mvnla2 I suppose I could take on that task. I’ll do my best to not disappoint anyone. :)
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmaelAs others have said, those events occurred in the past.
- For the Pirate King (2014-10-10)
- Under the Cloud of Night (2014-11-07)
- Curse of the Necromancer (2014-11-19)
- For the Pirate King (2014-12-06)
The pirate event has already run twice, so it’s very likely the other two will also run again in the future.
Year of the Goat was a one-time event that won’t be repeated, same as the Puzzle and Dragons crossover event (2014-10-23) and the Holidays Are Coming event (2014-12-21).
dr_ishmael@dr_ishmael@kerravon Critical hit is simply a damage multiplier, not a separate damage packet, so it couldn’t have resulted in an extra Marksmen activation. Chain attacks (as well as the bonus damage from set items) are separate packets and do trigger it – I’ve seen that happen myself.
