There is a reason Chuck and King Pig are in many episodes, their character traits make for funny plots consistently. (Chuck with his stupidity and show off style, and King Pig with his stupidity and greed) My only problem with both is not how many times they appear, but how some other characters get far less episodes than they should get because of them. (Bomb, Professor Pig, Minion Pigs, Bubbles, Classic Stella, Hal…)

Why missions? I only found the first portal and two more seem to be deeper in the fog, but from what I’ve seen, they give out cash and materials I can already get by doing levels. What makes them worth spending gems on outside of the chance to get new transformers?

There’s a difference between hard to pop and frustrating to pop. While difficulty is fine and all, frustration isn’t. The game shouldn’t feel unfair, but many pigs are near impossible to pop with a bird unless you have incredable aim and even then, you might not draw into the bird you need to do so. Frustration is bad game design.

Also the Mighty Eagle doesn’t actually deal damage. He just pops all pigs and causes wind to knock structures over. Sure, instant strike, but some stuctures are resistant to wind effects and no damage will be done, leaving you with less points than you would have had you used another spell, which are more reliable for scoring. Points are very important because they get you extra cards, and Eagle isn’t good at that. That’s why the Mighty Eagle isn’t a good spell.

I would say the best part of Angry Birds 2 is the bosses. The boss fights have the best music in the game (thank goodness the arena uses it too so even if I’m not on a boss I can still listen to it) They also aren’t randomized and it’s really satisfying when you defeat them.

The worst part is all the randomness in the game. It really ruins the puzzle part of Angry Birds, turning it into a action game instead. It punishes people who learn from mistakes (like me) and people planning their flings ahead of time (like me). I also imagine it’s a pain for high score chasers, where you can’t beat your best because the needed bird isn’t in your hand (I’ve lost count of the amount of time I have said, Why couldn’t I draw (bird needed to one shot structure, usually Bomb, Terrence or Matilda).) the last structure has a tough layout, or a balloon pig floats out of reach of your birds. Having all your birds in hand at once instead of just 3 would fix most of the randomness easily.

This game is missing the episode select screen. I always go back to try to 3 star levels, but the lack of an episode select will make finding non 3 starred levels far harder.

Well, looks like I wasn’t looking hard enough. I’ll be sure to pick up this book later. Although from the looks of it the book won’t cover Angry Birds Space or Angry Birds Go. Hopefully it can help in creating a Angry Birds timeline!

Since Angry Birds Space is not based on existing property, it can go on forever, unlike Angry Birds Rio, which will end eventually. Therefore, Rovio can and most likely will continue it due to the extra revenue given by new buyers.

You said before that you were going to develop a supplemental guide for bird and pig powers in Angry Birds Go!. I’ll be happy to help. I was just thinking of making an paper analyzing the powers of Stella and Bubbles in Angry Birds Go!. They are the powers with the most tactics because they have multiple usages but no immediate benefits.(unlike many of the other Angry Birds Go! powers.) If you want me to send you the paper when it is done or analyze other character’s powers, just ask. I can also make guides for character match-ups in versus mode.(how to defeat, how easy it is to win…)

@rigslip The game could be better without the Pork Side as it would allow more focus on levels and less on two separate themes for each episode.(As well as more space physics!) There would be more focus new characters and less on reused abilities and character design. (i.e. Jar Jar Brinks in Escape to Tatooine and Zam Wessel in Battle of Naboo.) This makes for a slightly better game.

Angry Birds Star Wars II’s Pork Side is not needed. When you strip away all the graphics all the story, and all the personality of the Pork Side, you get circles launching themselves at other circles to destroy them. However, they must use their powers to destroy rectangular blocks in their path. This gives them points, which can give them stars if enough are collected. Do this to the Bird Side and the same thing comes out. See what I’m pointing at? All the Pork Side is is a re-skin of typical Birds gameplay.( Which is why I don’t own Angry Birds Seasons and Rio.) There is no difference except for new powers. This slight difference is ruined by cloned characters, character who have the same powers, such as Jar Jar Brinks and Zam Wessel. or Battle Droid and Han Solo or even Mace Windu and Count Dooku. Characters like these make the sides very simular. To top it off, while episodes are longer than normal for the series, they still aren’t longer than the 45 level long Angry Birds episodes. That makes the more levels point moot. While I’m okay with the “get x stars to unlock other side”,( I don’t like it!) I hate that when you buy a Character Swap, it only works for one side. I expect that if I buy something in game with cash, I should be able to use it in all game modes unless it is impossible to use in the mode or breaks the balance of it.(Like Red’s Mighty Feathers and the Mighty Eagle.) At least let us buy the clone of the character for free. I say the Pork Side should not exist!(or at least be advertised less.)
