They usually keep the Token Exchange open for three days following the end of the special event. So you’ll have plenty of time to collect your tokens from the end of Day 8 and spend them on whatever you’d like to buy.

I’m still confused by this bonus thing. Why are some people receiving it but not others? I think I’m playing more than enough and spending more than enough gems to get a few.

@optimuspig, Why are you saying that? Are there people who DON’T get their bonus tokens? Well I got my share of tokens everyday.

@optimuspig What Transformer are you using? I’ve been using Goldbite Grimlock and have been averaging around thirty five per run. Only time I have got less than twenty was a 6 when there was only one silo at the very end of a long level and the one time I used Energon Grimlock.

I haven’t gotten any bonus tokens since the holiday challenge.

Well I’m definitely not receiving any bonuses. So yeah, there’s at least one who’s not (i.e. me).

I only get the tokens from the Competition and from the Challenge, but I’m 100% sure I haven’t received anything else (I keep a detailed progress spreadsheet, so I know exactly how many I’ve received, and how.)

I’ll give Goldbite a try on my next run and see how that goes. Buy it seems odd that choice of TF should make such a huge difference. I can understand if I were using the totally wrong TF (like say trying to hit missiles with Heatwave would just be dumb …) but I’ve used E. Grimlock on every run of every day of the CNY event so far, and I’ve done reasonably well so far. All of the Grimlocks have similar characteristics – I use it because of the pinpoint accuracy.

Just ran a desert node. Scored 8 missiles, sigh. Used Goldbite Grimlock as @sntrooper suggested.

I should add that the reason I use Energon Grimlock instead of Goldbite Grimlock is the massive nerfing that Goldbite Grimlock suffered in the last major app update. I’d used Goldbite almost exclusively throughout the Holiday special event.

Yup, unlocked EOP after Day 5.

I unlocked EOP yesterday. I wish there was a way to exchange unused tokens with other players cause I am going to end up with an extra 2800 or so that I’m not going to use. I like to play the special themes even when I got the Exclusive Transformer and the gear I want cause it allows me to choose my favorite Transformers to play.

I think maybe some people are seeing their competition prizes as “bonus tokens”.

Datgamerguy seems to have been using thousands of gems – not least evidenced by getting EOP to Level 15 almost immediately.

I think you’re right WeeNaoise. They actually have a video on youtube of some guy that got billions of gems free because of a bug in the game. He basically leveled everything up to 15 and finished the game by using those gems in no time. I never pay real cash for anything and so all my gems are farmed. In fact I’m still needing gems to unlock spaces for more transformers in the hardest level so I can send 9 transformers out on missions instead of just the 7 I have now. These contests force me to use gems so it’s going to take a little longer now…

@weenaoise You obviously have a great sense of expertise in deduction as I can see. For the first 6 upgrades I used coins (and materials where ever necessary) but for the next 9, I used coins, materials and gems. Also, as you said, I actually meant the tokens for the leaderboard rewards as bonus as they are, basically, extra tokens for you to spend.

For the record, after buying some gem packs, I have around 2300 gems left (still don’t know how much I’ve spent over the course of this event as I didn’t keep track).

Are you guys using the Photoblast (or similar) energonicon?

I read in the FB group that the rate at which missiles launch from the silos depends on how fast you can kill them. The faster you kill them, the more quickly they will launch.

I just tried that out and scored a 46!

@optimuspig The problem with E Grimlock for this comp is he is too fast. The silos only get to shoot 3-6 missiles before he passes them. But Goldbite is so slow that they shoot 9-12 times. And yes I am using Photoblast.

Yeah, that makes sense. I’d never realized that missiles fire more often if you take them down quickly, so it never occurred to me to use an offensive energonicon.

I’ve got Epic. Only have 340 tokens left so it is impossible for me to get either of his accessories though. Going to try to get enough to get Energon Grimlock’s Dragon hat. Just need to come in 2-3 and get through the 60 challenge.

After getting a proper night’s sleep, lol, I decided to take a peek at my leader-board this morning.

Funny enough, the last day also turns out to be the least competitive day I’ve encountered so far. If I’d played like a normally do instead of taking the day off, it would have been an easy Competition to win.

Kind of interesting actually. It seems like either people aren’t playing as hard because they’ve given up, or because they’ve been able to get what they wanted. So the remainder are there just for the heck of it or don’t need to get too many more tokens to finish off so aren’t working particularly hard at it.

I only use shield and goldbite. Did anybody during yesterdays Comp have the bad luck of having Runs in Pig City??? I had 3 comp runs in there, what a waste of time.
