About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

Captain, I usually score about 12-13M with 7 birds and help from Our Lady of Infinite Spells :). It’s usually enough to defeat all 18 leveled birds and up to 3-4 spells. Once in a while I have to use the video bird and once or twice a week the 60 gems.

I’ve seen a guy with 15-16 level birds (I’m a couple 18’s, a few 17’s and a couple 16’s) go 15M with 7 birds… The destructometer was filling like crazy, I’m not convinced we are playing 100% humans here…

I don’t ever remember being able to back out of a match. So it was before I started playing or I didn’t know I could do it. Could be either one. Rovio doesn’t give you any info just tosses you in to sink or swim. My guess is they hope you spend money if you don’t have a clue as to what is going on. I do know since the winning streak started people are ready to do whatever they can to win. They have become a bloodthirsty group anyway. It’s ruined the arena I don’t even enjoy play in it any more.

Not sure if I was just lucky or Rovio have actually gone out of their to help us for once, but twice yesterday I thought my streak had been interrupted and broken(one due to Internet problems and the other the game crashed) , the 1st at streak 6 and the 2nd at 7, but both times I was returned to the correct streak, I was gobsmacked as I fully expected to be unceremoniously dumped back to streak 1.

Not sure anybody here has gone down that far yet…..

Let say my birds are level 12+ and I have 4 upgrades to Slingshot. Then I let myself getting demoted all the way down the arena levels to the bottom by not playing or play poorly.

What will my opponents be like down there? Just like if I am at the top arena levels or will I be seal clubbing noobs? What kind of star counts will the leaderboard have? People with hundred of stars or tens of stars?

Given I will be out of town for couple of weeks soon I could be down at least 2 levels by the time I start again.

@hubert-lo There will magically be Level 12+ equal slingshots for you to compete against in vanilla league (or any league you end up in for that matter). Don’t ask how, only Rovio knows the secret answer why you will always seem to have comparable opponents to battle no matter where you are.

How do I know? I’ve lately stopped caring about this game and let it lapse for a few weeks at a time. I am at Level 18 birds and whatever slingshot comes after Wooden. There was NEVER, EVER a shortage of opponents who could kick my azz into next week when I went down to Bronze League, or the leagues I climbed back up on my way to where I am now (Amethyst, and it looks like I’ll be staying here since No. 1 spot requires somewhere around 3000 stars to achieve, based on the past few weeks’ end-of-week standings).

OMG what the heck is going on with this stupid game? I just took 5 spells into Round 2 and got wiped by 3,000,000 points. Tried again and got wiped again. Finally made it back up and got annihilated in Round 3 with 5 spells with a score of 6,900,000 to 12,000,000. This is complete {Admin Edit}malarkey. There’s NO WAY my opponent and I are playing the same screens, there wasn’t even enough to wreck per board for the score to go up that high.

I even watched bird for bird and apparently my opponent got 3,000,000 pts on his Blues when I saw NO ice buildings in the stretch of 5 boards.

UPDATE: I am playing this as I type. Now I can’t even get by the first round with 4 spells. My opponent mysteriously seems to “Strike” those boards that have two low buildings on the ground and fans that blow your birds above them.

AngryBirds2 is determined to suck my gems away. Well Whorevio when my gems are gone, I delete this and all the rest of your crappy games I ever downloaded. If you’re trying to push people away from your company, this is the right way to do it.

If it is true a family game why does Rovio continue using the “Buttstomp” names. My grandson 8, and granddaughter 3 both love to play AB2. I do not allow the to use those words. How do I explain to them Rovio’s use of it?

I wrote to Rovio and the promised to remove them but they are back. So the game is off limits to the kids again. What a shame for a company that wants to be family friendly!

Well being it is not offensive I would have thought that was easy?…..I mean if you think butt is offensive, you shouldn’t hang around any schools, because the language the youth use today is far worse than Butt or Stomp :/

Ever since last week the arena is un-winnable unless I splurge major spells and gems, I don’t have much of either so I am S.O.L. I have been playing AB2 since released and long time AB players. I have bad games but not that often. Terrence bounces and bomb explosion is ineffective!

The streak #1 game is usually fine. Streak #2 is tough, I need perfect game to win the 5 stars. Rarely see #3 and up since I cannot even get to them. The arena levels are the bad layouts with few extra structures in the way. Other than Mighty Eagle, nothing else can clear the level with 1 bird!!!

This game used to be about skilled players knowing where to aim the bird for a good chain reaction. Nothing much I can do when Terrence bounces off wood and ice on the descend part of the flight.

At least there are DC and KPC if I get that far. Regular levels have hard ones but those are more worthwhile to use spells on.

Chucky-2 is right. I’m a teacher that has been both in elementary and high school environments, and students use a lot more vulgar language. They get them from their friends, most of the time

Do you have your game connected to facebook and if so do you receive gifts from your friends? If so, why don’t you keep entering and exiting the arena numerous times. Every time you go to map, the friend should give you a gift (either a spell or 5 gems). I thought it was a one-time shot deal, but apparently it keeps on giving. Go watch a show on TV and enter and exit the arena while you watch. It’s tedious work, but it did rack me up 350 gems + a couple of spells in a hour. I could spend $6.99 to get the gems but why give it Rovio? Also keep in mind you do have the infinite spell glitch so your spells don’t necessarily have to deplete to zero.

It depends on some of the structures. Few rooms can be cleared with one bird, but if that’s all about luck on getting the right bird. I agree fully on Terrence. How could a bird that large be so weak, especially to balloons lol.

As for my tournament, ever since they screwed up the matching, streak 1,2 and 4 have been the hardest, since they’re matching me with super players where one of them got over 7 million points in only 2 rooms (and their birds at lvl 17, and mine are 18, go figure). I’m at star rank 93 and they pit me up with a rank 137 player. LOL. I did beat him but not by much. Streak 5-7 are doable since they’re matching fairly.

@jon3800 I do connect to Facebook. However this gift-gem spam seems to be gone for me for the last week or so. Wife plays AB2 also (her levels were 15+) and she gives me gifts all the time. For some reason I have not seen any gifts recently. I used to get 1000 from the gift exploit if I have time.

I suppose I can send support tickets to see why I have not seen a single gift from her. But then I rather Rovio fix these arena rigging issues first.

What is this unlimited gems glitch everyone talks about? I would use it without compunction because the game keeps taking my gems and spells without my selecting them for use.

Strange how Rovio is claiming to be ‘family-friendly’ as is this site. Especially when random birdnames include “Flocker”, “Boink” and “Buttslam”.

Well on a better note, I’m noticing a lot more players going back to using their FB names and profiles. I would read this as the community getting sick of being swindled by anonymous player names and are identifying themselves in an attempt to discern the real people from the bots (that Rovio claims are so minimal we shouldn’t notice).

@kelshe @jon3800 it’s best not to discuss player benefits from game design in the forum- based on the way things are going, it’s players vs Rovio and players will lose every time. We need to keep these innocuous little perks amongst ourselves lest the game become simply unplayable.

Well this is a new one. Opponent had 6,356,??? points. I had 6,124,??? and my extra bird meter was on the verge of a full bar. The only thing I had was 1 duck spell and 1 blue bird and my opponent was out of everything.

I use the blue bird and it only give me 120,000 points. The extra bird meter was almost full now. I use the duck card. As soon as the bar went full and more points were to be had, the results screen popped up as if the match was over. Thankfully I had the ad to watch to get an extra bird. So I should have 2 birds? The ad bird and the extra one. NOPE. My meter was empty and had no extra bird and one structure that had crumbled from the ducks was now intact. UGH

Krakham that is one of the worst examples of the mess the arena has become I have heard. I keep thinking it has to get better, but sadly it’s getting worse.

John and Chucky-2: As to children and their mouths I have heard plenty. If their parents allow them to talk that way it’s up to them. Ask yourself when was the last time your principal, or CEO ended a staff meting with “lets get out there and buttstomp them all”?

What I am saying is the words we choose to use mark us as leaders or followers. Which did my daughter grow up to be? Which do I want my grandchild to be? Not followers! I recently retired from the local district after 35 years so I am familiar with children and their language. Once they are out of junior high I expect them to know what kind of language is acceptable! If they haven’t learned by then they will have hard lives to look forwards to not enjoyable ones.

Personally I think you are just old school katydid…..even in the work place/day to day life, none of the words AB2 use for in game names are offensive/unacceptable.

Kids that grew up in the late 80’s, 90’s and onwards have been using far more offensive words/language in day to day life, that I think would shock the hell out of you…..but in this day and age, it is par for the course.
