About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

I saw Hank on here a couple of weeks ago, but only as it involved somebody potentially spending €£¥$ on AB2. Haven’t seen him since and he had been awol for a fair while prior to that. I doubt you’d get much sense out of him anyway, unless you wanted to spend money.

Just had a question about who we are playing now in the Arena. Is it still the bots or are the FB id for our opponents that are showing up now really representing recorded games other players have actually played. Almost a year ago now Bankler explained we were playing the recorded games of other players in AB2. I am certain that changed to games with Bots with the July birthday download. But now the FB id’s are back in the Game and I wonder if we have returned to playing the recorded games of other players. That is my question to the Rovio Rep.

And no video for a free game recently?

Rovio really ramping up the “we want your money” process?

Yup my free arena ticket videos seem to have disappeared as well.

Me too. Sometimes the video spawns immediately, sometimes after a period of time, sometimes not at all.

I’ve occasionally had delays as well but I’ve played 20-30 games in the arena since yesterday morning and not had a single free ticket video. Rovio plunging to new depths…again.

I can confirm that we play real players. I had a match with penz earlier this week. Same avatar as on this forum.

We do occasionally face real players. Believe it or not, I once had myself as an opponent. Not just the same name but the same avatar,my dog. I was unsure how to proceed. Would I be committing suicide to try to defeat myself? I went ahead and played and won. Guess I’m dead now. But I still feel so alive.

Yep, free ticket/free bird vids stopped working for me late yesterday. I keep getting the “buffering” issue.

The other thing that has been happening for at least a week is when I win multiples of any spell, it doesn’t give me that number, but instead one less than what I won. (ie…3 inflators = 2 when added to my totals).

Thank you for your replies. I actually remember, kelshe, reading your post when you played yourself. That was sometime back.

I have not posted over the summer because I was not allowed to post for some time after reporting that I watched my final Arena score roll backwards while my opponents rolled forward (and this happened twice). This was back in the late spring. When the Rep’s answers did not address my experience, and my issue was dismissed, I fired off 2 scathing posts. One of my posts actually disappeared when I tried to edit it. Then I was banned from posting here.

Apparently the penance is over.

The birthday download fixed the problems I was having and I’ve been having a lot more fun in the Game since. But the Sept update seems to have brought a return of the ‘Mean Streets’.

What is biggest problem of this game? Not the developer’s greediness. Sure they want to make money – it’s normal, it’s business. IMO biggest minus of this game is too slow progress with collecting feathers and pearls for upgrading birds. If you remember when birdday update was, in this day i reinstalled the game ( lost of course all progress ) and started playing again from zero. So i played like angry goblin all these weeks and only now i have level 15 birds. And Rovio made maxing-out-all-birds-process now much longer. It’s getting just boring if you need to shoot same structures day by day in the arena. I like concept of this game and i like fling the birds but i really want to see something new in game. BTW the game is 100% playable without spending any $. I know this because Google Wallet in some stupid reason blocked my account and i can’t spend money even if i want to do it. If i play the arena i win about 80% of matches and i guess it’s normal. If i have spells i use them if not i don’t. Yes sometimes i used little help from Our Lady of Endless Spells too and i don’t think that it was cheating – if door is open why to not enter?

I wish rovio would do something about the premium chest. They need to confirm your purchase. Last night I accidentally touched the chest and it cost me 1600 gems. I was just putting my phone down for a second and fat fingered it and poof. All my birds are maxed out so I just got a bunch of spells that I didn’t need. ???!!!

Collecting feathers is tedious, but it’s manageable if you play the game on 2 or more devices. I’ve been doing it last Christmas when I got an Ipad and I racked up enough feathers right now to get my birds into level 19 when it’s scheduled to be released. Make sure you link your game to facebook so if it ever happens again, at least you’ll still have your birds at your desired levels and your levels. Unfortunately, you can’t get back spells and gems :( I know exactly when birthday update came. That’s pretty impressive to get from vanilla to elder diamond in that amount of time :) I take full advantage of Our Lady of Endless spells, and I also happen to met a new lady too.

Pearls I highly agree with you. It is way way too slow, especially pirate hats at 1000 a pop. it’s a big shame the only way to get a lot of them is to compete in the arena with the 24h permanent players or the ones that have giant wallets in their pockets. If they want to make money, least make black pearls available for purchase.

AB2’s biggest problem for me is repetitiveness.

– I battled the same gravity grove arena level over 5 times back to back.
– The 40-level chapter pack they keep introducing are the same recycled levels from previous levels. Copacabacon levels are no different than the 60-level Pig Bay pack. Sometime I wish Rovio would get creative and introduce newer theme or bring back birds from previous games like Bubbles or Stella (or even members of her flock, that have now been totally wiped out of their system with their spinoff AB pop)

Since you advised me to play on 2 devices these ‘advantages’ have become obvious. If Rovio weren’t so blatant in screwing their clientele I might feel guilty about exploiting them…..
