About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

@jon3800- thanks for your replies yesterday. Having only just upgraded to the silver slingshot, was surprised that it actually looks more a pale blue/azure rather than silver – so that’s probably what I was seeing and not a real azure after all.

However, still a bit confused that I was confronted with an opponent in the Arena, also with the silver slingshot but missing hats on some of their birds – why would you not have them when it increases your score? I suppose the answer is obvious….

Ah “nice” new things happen in arena. I was preparing to battle in stage 3 a superior (of course!) opponent when the game suddenly crashed and when I restarted it, I had lost the ticket and had to wait 3 more hours to get a new one. Anyone else that had experienced this?

Week is too long time for tournament. 3 days like in AB Friends was much better. @hank maybe Rovio will consider it?

I believe the video ticket is on a 3 hr invisible timer from the last time you watched one. It can be out of sync from the last time you played the area.

In my case, I will start the area when I wake up but not play it until later, I let it sit in the background while I do other things. My reason for doing this is because the 3hr count down until the next free area begins when you start the game, not finish it. So when I pick it up and finish the area a hour later, when I finish the count down will say 2hrs left until free because I started it an hour before I finished.

If you play the area and don’t have a video ticket available, it means you watched the video a considerable amount of time since you started the last area, check back in awhile and it will be available

the scores are not showing in the arena. neither on iPhone or ipad. you can play it but the scores and placements don’t show??? what’s up?

@timbo0724 take a look at the last few pictures in my album with blank Arena standings. After the week I received nothing (despite accumulating about 500 stars) and was busted right back to the Vanilla League. If this is what may happen to you, I would suggest banking all your extra play tickets this week. Week 1 in vanilla was tough as all my opponents were Diamond League players. It took 1,400 stars to finish third and get promoted to bronze. If you are in Vanilla League next week maybe just play low and hopefully week two will match you against other vanilla players (where 300 stars will have you finishing in first).

Rovio support told me this is a known problem and they are hoping to fix it in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, the message is essentially ‘it sucks to be you.’

They never should’ve introduced those stupid hats & slingshot upgrades, all it’s done is again ruin the arena, surely this is no longer worth playing?

Also if I not play for a few weeks & drop down a few leagues, do the opponents get easier or the bloody same?

@rhys4aufc since being demoted, I seem to be matched against similar players as before in the head-to-heads. My win percentage hasn’t changed, but eventually the 14 others in my group drop down to a lower league and the requirements for finishing in the top three are much lower (currently I am in first place with a paltry 150 stars and second has 70) in the Bronze League. The rewards for finishing are reduced (first is 300 gems and 100 pearls).

The main benefit is I can ignore the arena for long periods of time and nothing really changes.

@mad4paok, I’ve run into that crash issue many times, sometimes 2-3 a week, even in cases where I am winning big time and all of a sudden, poof. Also once in a while, I’ll be in a match, then real life calls or texts, the app gets backgrounded, then gone and restarts.

Something very weird is happening in my diamond league tournament

This player named “Falcon of Prey” is certainly an anomaly. He’s in Amethyst league (I don’t get why he’s in diamond) was leading by 600 stars, then this afternoon, his star count dropped all the way down to 1 (assumed Rovio caught him cheating)…now he’s in the lead with a whopping 1025…just wow

The silver sling shot has a slight hue of blue, but really appears silver (depends on light settings on your device). An azure sling shot will have more blue to it and shines. It is definitely noticeable :)

@jon3800 it s funny you mention that. Last week (or the week before) after 2 days, 2 players in my arena had almost 2000 points. So sure enough, I had to waste a crap load of tickets trying to stay ahead of them. Then I woke up the next morning, and those 2 both had 1 point only……meaning I wasted a buttload of tickets to stay ahead of 2 cheaters, only to find out I didn’t need to.

As you can imagine, I was pretty angry I wasted so many tickets, but at least the cheaters got the boot down to 1 point each.

@rhys4aufc you should contact Rovio support with a screen shot of your empty league. It took almost 14 days for them to respond, but they did say they would send something through Facebook in the way of compensation – however they claimed they couldn’t find my Facebook account. Another player mentioned they received 240 gems. I will wait to see if they ever follow through on their promise, but it may be worth a shot for you.

Has anyone noticed an improvement in the area difficulty? I’m am to win more often than not the last few days. Last week I couldn’t finish stage 1 – 3 even after using gems. This week I can finish stage 7 without spells or gems…Weird

What does it mean when someone who has in the lead in the arena suddenly appears with a score or around 400 then a quick jump to 700 then another quick jump to 1082 and then they disappear from arena scores. This was diamond league and they were listed as diamond league player.

Do they disappear because they have been identified as a cheat or can they manipulate which sub group in diamond league that they are in?

…as if it is, then I would love to know who you were talking about above, as I never jumped 400 to 700 to 1000, nor did I disappear (as you can see) :P Although if that is you, and I have vanished off your leaderboard, can you please post the screenshot, as I might have to ask why if that is the case.

I did however use another crap load of tickets, and have no intention of giving up 1st…lol….I was sitting at a comfortable 900 or so until last night when Max Thunders decided to move from around 500 to 900. That is when I decided to commit a few more tickets to stay ahead and will continue to do so if needed :P

I should have expected this, with so many of the other old tricks showing up.

I had an easy lead in my league, until today when some new player showed up right on my tail. A 150 point lead fell to 10 in less than 2 hours. And I just gained a whole 5 points, looks like I will be next time I get to play.

In last 2 weeks i had only opponents with “birdnames”, not even a single opponent with FB name. It’s quite strange. However, until i can win ’em i don’t care.
