About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

I’m am the only person whose opponents are exactly the same star rank as me every single time? These has only been happen 3 or 4 days since the area got hard again. Im lvl 50 and on the 1st stage, I face a player lvl 50 the same lvl cards as me or weaker. Stage 2 or more and I face a lvl 50 player with better cards than me.

I’m at star rank 60, and I always get 60s. When I level up, so do the opponents I get matched to. It’s been that way ever since the update that overhauled the Arena. (Their actual bird levels are typically higher than mine, but I can usually compensate for that.)

Well it is about 20 minutes until this weeks arena is over, and I am wondering how long it is going to take to get back into the arena this week.

As raised earlier in the thread it has progressively increased from 20-30 mins, to now being between 1-1.5 hours…..will today be longer or shorter, only time will tell.

So while we all wait to get back into the Arena, I have a few questions:
– What does the Star Rank denote/provide?
– Once you get through Diamond League, what happens? Is it just a perpetual fight to stay there?
– My Birds are at 7/8. I am very often pitted against 9/10 and some of the cards are gold. Do folks “buy” those, or does it just happen?

I finished this week’s arena with over 1000 points. Pretty good, huh? No. It was good for 6th place. I was in 5th place 10 minutes before the end but someone jumped ahead of me by 150 points. What fun.

Okay, new week, first time in, 2 and done. It leterally took me 7 birds to clear one room while my opponent, who highly outranked me racked up a couple million. A circus level 3 structures, none fell into another, or were damaged much by any bird, mostly blue, red and Matilda, and not once did anything fall on one of the 6 trampolines andbounce into a structure. 4 of the birds were required to pick off 1 pig each. My opponent had at least 1 sometimes 2 bomb every time I looked at their birds. This was a 7 streak. After losing that I got slaughtered even worse on the 1 streak. Once again, little damage from my birds while they ran away with.

Also the leader right now has 6, the rest of us are tied at zero, so if anyone else has played they had the same luck as me.

They get level 14 birds in one Either one of two ways

1) Hoarding feathers. If you play the arena and win constantly and often, you can obtain a total of 630 feathers (30 in streak 2, 100 in streak 5 and 500 in streak 7). New updates don’t occur after 2-3 weeks so it wouldn’t take much for people to level up to newer elder card. I was able to to bring bomb up to level 14 a day after its introduction. Most of my other birds are 3/4 of the way to level 14

2) Cheating or spending TONS of money: They hacked the game so they can have unlimited gems or they pay a ridiculous amount of money to obtain gems. If the player is a hacker, than all he needs to do is to open the 22 premium treasures a bunch of times until the player obtains 2900 feathers to get to level 14 status. This is the pattern I’m seeing because the SECOND after its introduced…streak 3 and beyond were ALL level 14

As for Azure (blue sling shot)…you need a whopping 5040 pearls and for players to have it THIS early…they are MOST definitely cheaters as its been 3 weeks since the birthday update was released with the hats. It’s not possible without cheating. 1st place arena winners get 300 pearls and daily challenges award 30 pearls/day so 210 a week so that’s 510. Multiplied by 3 weeks…and A GOOD player that has 1st place should have 1530 pearls.

Where did the 5040 come from?

– party hats (20×7) = 140 upgrades the sling to bronze
– crown (100×7) = 700 upgrades the sling to silver (600 if Red already has it from the $11 offer)
– street caps (100×7) = 700 upgrades the sling to gold
– cowboy hats (500×7) = 3500 upgrades it to azure (blue)

This is of course assuming that you need to buy every single hat.

Hi there,

1) Star rank is nothing more than a status symbol to let people know how often and much you played the game. A person that has a star rank of 100 is no better than a player that has a rank 58 if he has the same level birds. However, the game IS generous enough to reward you with a premium chest every time you rank up. Some rewards are good (like 100-250 feathers) or complete waste (2 blizzard/ducks)

2) Once you get in Diamond league…the rewards you get are slightly better, but other than that it’s a perpetual fight to stay in there

3) Read my reply above to bossywings. Either they’re like me and play the arena and win constantly to get that many feathers or people buy their way to level up, which is frequently the case with players below star rank 30. Unfortunately that is the case whenever you managed to get to streak 3.. You will ALWAYS be outmatched and it’s Rovio’s way of saying “pay up in gems/spells” if you want to get ahead. ALL my birds are lvl 13 (bomb is at 14) and I’m ALWAYS pitted with all lvl 14 birds. My advice is to get some hats (at least crown since it multiplies your score by 2, so a lvl 8 bird with a crown would be equivalent to lvl 10) to upgrade your sling shot and bring in some spells to help you win streak 3+. That’s what I’m doing.

1. Better ranking and better birds are useless, because you get better opponents and have no advantage.

2. Today the birds have been totally useless in the arena. The special attacks did not work and I needed four birds for one damn ice level.

@bossywings – regarding cheaters, there’s a ‘player’in my league in the Arena this week with an azure slingshot already, and curiously no hats on their birds at all!

If you’re looking at your players’ profile in your league, hats are hidden unless you’re battling with them specifically in the arena, which will rarely happen since you face opponents according to your star rank and upgraded sling. It only shows their rank, bird levels, and sling shot.

You’re not alone, In my league this week, I already have 4 players with azure slings which star ranks far below mine (I’m at 59) with maxed out birds and one of them (mysteriously in Amethyst league in my diamond league) is tieing up with me for 1st place. However, to get that azure sling…you NEED to purchase ALL the hats, no question. The game does allow you to remove or swap hats.

@jon3800 – many thanks for the explanation, so now happy that not seeing any hats denotes a cheater, but how on earth could anyone have accumulated enough pearls so quickly to even have the azure slingshot in the first place?

Getting tired of it looking like I might get a hard fought win just to get a useless video bird while my opponent racks up an amazing score in their last 2 birds to blow me away.

I just beat an opponent by more than 4.2m points and got 9 stars. How big does the margin have to be to get 10?

@jon3800: you explained it well about the sling. They cheat and I think they should be chucked out of the game. I hate cheaters. Yesterday when the tournament ended I know for a fact that no 1 & 2 had azure sling. Not sure about no 3. I came in 4th. Can´t Rovio detect who´s cheat with the slings? The minute it appear remove them from the game. In my current tournament I got 5 azure, 3 bronze, 6 wood and 1 gold. Cheaters, cheaters everywhere…

Do the hats effect multipliers or just the sling? I have a silver sling and all the party hats and crowns. Will it have a higher score equipping all the crowns vs equipping all the party hats or removing all the hats?

This is the second week in a row, I play in the diamond league and my points ie… stars are going to two lists of people. One will start then after a few plays it goes to a different list of people. The winning rewards are different also. This is bs my stars are not going to one count in one league of the same players, like it was before.

Like I said before.. To accumulate over 5000 pearls this early into update (3 weeks), they cheated by hacking the game to get unlimited amount of pearls. I think I remember seeing a vid on youtube of players putting random numbers into a program and it generated the number of pearls… Sickening

In order to get 10 stars in an arena battle…your overall score has to be double than that of your opponent. So for example if your opponents gets 4 million…you need at least 8 million.

Scoring multipliers affects BOTH the sling and the hats. Since our sling shot is silver…then there’s a x2 multiplier. Same with hats (party hats are +1, crown and street caps are +2 and cowboy hats are +3). It would unwise to equip party hats. How much does it vary. Take one of my birds from my flock.

Red is at level 14 (elder amethyst) and I have a silver sling shot and crown equipped

So his multiplier is 14+2+2 = 18…so I’m doing almost 18x the damage.

@jon3800 it doesn’t have to be quite double, but damn close to it. Earlier today the guy I was playing was 5.5 mil, yet I got 10.1 (or 10.2) mil and got 10 stars. It seems to be double the first number but not necessarily the rest. Next time I can grab a screenshot if you like :)

But near double is silly in most cases :( when someone gets 8 mil that means you need nearly 16 mil to get 10 stars, and whilst I have had a 15mil round using all spells, it is nearly impossible in most cases and certainly if you are not using spells.

@hank I have seen an interesting glitch in the Arena since my wrongful demotion to the Vanilla League. Despite demotion, all my opponents in the Vanilla League were Diamond League players. I was still able to finish third and be promoted to the Bronze League this week – where all my opponents are Vanilla League players. My opponents seem to match my previous week’s league level and not the current league I Have been stuck into.

When they put a micro pig on a tiny balloon way up in the corner that can only be reached by Chuck or maybe Matilda if your aim is perfect and all you can do is just fling your birds in frustration because they NEVER give you Chuck or Matilda to even have a chance, I just want to throw my tablet against the wall.

More accurately I want to punch the level designer right in the face.

Waited three hours as usual for arena entry, only got one ticket. No option to watch a video for a second ticket. Is this a thing now or a glitch? @hank?
