About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

Today seems to be an anti-spell day:
– the unmagic ducks have been bouncing and flapping around and not bringing down any structures at all
– the not-so-hot chilli has taken to exploding the pig at the top of a structure, leaving the rest untouched
– the pig deflator puffs them all up but leaves them sitting there with that blank expression
– I haven’t tried yet but I suspect the mighty sparrow may be just as ineffective.

A rest day for me today, try again tomorrow. It’s for the best.

Unbelievable miracle happened. I was playing #3 without spells and when i shot my last bird i cleared the room and moved ahead to the next. However i lost the battle with 100k points so i used videobird and got eagle (wow!), so i just wanted to shoot it when all room just self-collapsed! It filled my destructometer and i got Terence. It gave me strike in the next room and in the next eagle caused also massive destruction. So i finally won battle with 9 stars. True wonder !

When did they do away with Facebook? I believe you are mistaken. I actually use my FB on AB2 Arena. Even changed the profile pic to the one on my FB. Are you sure you just didn’t have the disconnect issue? You actually have to manually change the profile pic and name to FB (each separately). Kind of surprising some people think they did away with it when I still have people on my leaderboard have profile pics and first names…

I’m “Rush Einswine” but even that is too long, so I just show up as “Rush”.”

Clearly while looking at both of their leaderboards, they have the same people in the top. OE is such a unique name (probably from FB), and their pic is the same. Even with Peppy and Smash Von Squeek… What would be the odds with random names and pictures and then they are the exact same?

Also, if you click on the name for the pop-up to show the bird ranks, you will see the full name if it is from AB2, not Facebook, even if it is long like yours.

Well, I did not quit last week like I said I was going to, probably not the first person to do that. I finished out the week, placing 6th, and my obsessive nature said, “One more week”. And i was gonna do it without coming here to complain about every issue. That lasted until today.

As for the last 2 weeks within 1 day I was already buried with little chance of advancing. The game was back to even wins getting me only 5-6 per win and my Arena opponents leaving me further behind every few hours, the usual bad birds, bad structures, Blue as video bird, etc.

So today, already frustrated, I got a level I have gotten dozens of times, no biggie, fling your bird into the flower set off the chain reaction. Usually Terrance works best but I didn’t have one, used Red, he didn’t fire. other birds were useless, didn’t get Terrence until about my 7th or 8th Bird, too late by then. So while I am watching my opponent rack up millions of points, I never made it out of Room 1.

I exited the game and uninstalled it, for real this time. I just started Final Fantasy III the other day, it will take my time now. I might still check in a few more times to see if anything improved but by this point that seems unlikely. I was connected through facebook so I could come back, but if I don’ within a week I will be over it, that is how I got away from all the other AB games that frustrated me after I got so far into them.

Really sorry to hear what you are going through.

What is really astonishing is that Rovio (presently @hank) has not come out to assist what they call this “huge minority ” which they claim is very important to them.

As Dave pointed out, they did not do away with FB names nor they did with FB. FB is used to save your progress. I’ve kept my name as Jon Sosiak with my profile pic and proud of it. Why ridicule myself with those cutesy nicknames? They DID away with the old names like Red #1888 or Silver #1888 and such depending on the avatar you had chosen. Now I have to deal with 2 players named Crash…One’s in the 8th while the other is in first. Oh, speaking of which

I talked about how that “Buck Birdson” character that went up a couple of hundred stars and was in first place a couple of days ago. He was in first place with 1135 stars last night. This morning he’s back in dead last with only 1 star, so it gives me more suspect that getting a huge lead can hurt you.

I agree totally. Again, I accused Rovio of planting players awhile ago because there’s no way for other players to see who these wunderkind actually are because their profiles are obscured by generic birdy-names.

Not totally, if you see my post from end of last week there were two players winning in my league that had names like this. I wondered if these were leftover bot players or someone who created a pounding script that just “plays” even when the user isn’t logged on (yes it can be done).

I’m trashing this week’s arena. There are three of us, slated for ‘demotion’ (aka lowest scores indicated in black):

Someone named Rush Beakboxer: 0 stars
Someone named Silver #35644: 1 star
Me: 526 stars

Anyway, I went to bed last night at 3rd place with 700+ hard-earned stars, woke up this morning in 9th place needing 1100+ stars to even place. Wow, what an effing joke.

Actually, if you have an FB account linked, then you somehow get disconnected from FB, it will revert to one of those “Red #38012” type of names. I’ve had it a few times and I was lazy to change it back to my FB name until after I played for a bit… Lol.

How can an opponent have multiple birds of the same kind? I just had an opponent that had all yellow birds and one black bomb bird.

I’m in the Azure league. How am I getting 1million+ more points than my opponents? It’s almost as if I’m facing players that’s in lower levels.

If my opponents are actually real people, there is only 8 people in the entire world that has a score in the Azure league?

How are 10 stars determined? I have beat opponents with 1million+ more points than them but yet only received 8 stars. Most of the time I get 10. I have barely beaten opponents by about 10,000 points and received 10 stars. Why? How?

And here is just a rant. It’s so frickin’ aggravating at how some of these birds just will not do anything. I just about hurled my phone across the room this evening. 2 wood blocks holding up this huge rock block tower. I use the yellow bird and nothing happens. I use the other yellow bird I received as an extra. NOTHING HAPPENED. I use the black bomb bird on the wood. NOTHING FREAKING HAPPENS. I use Terrance and he was able to break the wood block but it stopped him right there. Unbelievable.

I agree! I had one start out the first of the round with two Terences with cowboy hats. They were level 11 + the multipliers of hats and gold sling shots.

That’s not the only time just the last one.

Rovio said they can be in a different room but the first play it should be impossible. They have to be robots.

Haha @psygaz I know the feeling well. I could produce an entire gallery of all the instances I get a stray unreachable micropig that seemed to avoid mass destruction of the room he’s in, when coincidentally I have a Chili Pepper in my card choices.

Maybe I’m paranoid, but when this happens almost 100% of the time for me, I don’t believe it’s an accident.

Actually, I have figured out that stars are mostly determined as such:

10 stars = 90-100% more than their score
i.e. Opponent gets 4.9 million, you have to get 9.8 million.

9 stars = around 50% more than their score
i.e. Opponent gets 4.9 million, you have to get 7.4 million.

I don’t have the exact math, but that’s pretty much what I keep in mind as my goal when I look at their scores.

Me to I took screenshots of 2 different players with high ranking birds with their hats. I was going to send them to Rovio. Decided I would never get a straight answer about them. Both players it was at start up so unless they some how got to different rooms with 0 score no way they were in further rooms then me. (Rovio’stock answer)

Actually, the way you see the opponents’ birds are ordered in the way that they *use* them. So, if they use a Terrence first and get an extra card, it’s possible they were extremely lucky and the new card was a Terrence and ended up being their third card. So they would then use another Terrence in the next room (or same room). I one time saw a guy with three Blues… poor chap. His score barely moved :P

I have seen that as well… But it could be the opponent’s original Terrence, then he filled the meter and got a second Terrence. The cards are not quite as informative or real time as we think.

Remember that any spells your opponent used (apparently) aren’t counted during your run against them. So it’s possible they could fire Terence, get another Terence because it’s the only card they don’t already have, then use several spells in succession and then their second Terence.
