@optimus I got an email from Rovio this morning stating that they were aware of the issues and were trying to fix it. Hope they do cuz myself and many others are in the same boat, possibly due to our operating systems.

There might be light at the end of the tunnel for those of us still locked out. Rovio sent me an email this morn saying they were aware of the issue and are currently investigating the problem. They also said that they have received feedback from others with the same problem and that the developers are currently looking into this issue and will hopefully provide a fix soon. They went on to ask for the specifics of the crashing and device info so if you shoot them an email you may want to include that. The email was from Tadeusz.

@paul13 smart move! Have you ever done a Facebook restore? I hate missing out on this even when I have a fully capable device on hand. Its just that it doesn’t have a data plan so only works over WiFi but I can certainly play on it weekends and nights until this gets straightened out. I’m just dubious about it working to restore progress.

That said there may be hope for us that are still locked out…

@paul13 do you play on both those tablets you mentioned? How do you alternate between them? I’m thinking of using a tablet in the meantime until this is either sorted out or I get a new device.

@jimmy-necessary thanks for the info. You are the first ios user to respond so perhaps it isn’t just an android issue. thats good news actually cuz the more people having the issue, the more pressure on rovio to fix it

@rowdypup did you attempt a Facebook restore? I’m still hopeful that my progress will be restored through it when this fiasco is over

@lewie4 a few of us on older android systems (4.3, jelly bean and older) have not been able to open the game since the 1.25 update. Would you please check with the developers and see if ABTF is still supported on these older android platforms? Thanks.

@paul13 yeah I was looking at the notes as well but I couldn’t find a slide out keyboard adapter for them. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit :)

ok so I think we’ve got enough data to run my hypothesis across the powers that be… I hope there is a response!

@craigtbest the kindle 7.5.1 is android 4.0, ice cream sandwich. The version just before jelly bean. My hypothesis seems to be holding true…

@paul13 I don’t know if a new event is starting, I’m just hopeful cuz if 1 does then a soft update may proceed it which could contain a fix… unlikely but hey, can’t we have wishful thinking lol?

@rlcoone I’m coming around to the same logic. Been lookin at galaxy s5 and s6. Both have 4.4 or higher and others have posted that they’re working. Plus the galaxies have keyboard covers allowing for a physical keyboard in addition to the on screen (which is why I continue to use a dinosaur of a phone, my thumbs are just to fat at the tips lol)

thanks for the tip @paul13, I’ve tried that though and opening from apps menu, main screen, play store… any way I could think of. Nothing. Have there been any soft updates in preparation for an event roll out today? I’m hoping that if there is then we will see a fix then. If not… well I will probably have to get a new phone and trash this dinosaur lol

@bproue I hear ya! I’ve only been playing for a few months but man is it addictive! And oh so frustrating…

So that’s another jelly bean system. Is there someone we can ask at rovio to look into whether or not the new update excluded the jelly bean version?

@craigtbest I started a new thread on this topic. Would you mind posting your operating system on it? Us poor saps who have been left in the cold seem to be a small minority and it might be due to our archeic devices lol

@werehamsta what operating system are you using? I’m wondering if the new update is only affecting older android versions. I’m a bit old school when it comes to my phone so it is 4.1.2, jelly bean. Only about 11% of android users still have it.

I just tried it and no dice. Still crashes upon opening. So long 4300 tokens! Sigh… its only a game though, right??? :/

Hey everybody, the players on here are a truth wealth of knowledge, I’ve been following you for a while now and could definitely use some advice. I’m 1 of those android users that got forced to update this morning and now can’t open the game. I’m considering reinstalling and going for the Facebook restore but I’ve still got 4300 tokens left to exchange. Anybody know if they will be waiting upon facebook restore or are they toast? thanks
