    This page from AB2 support describes what happens when two clans with different ranks are matched the same way you do. Thx also for highlighting the difference between the nominal and real clan FPs.

    @sanderhuizer, can you pls confirm that your clan, when your clan’s hats are initially off and its nominal FP (without hats) is close to but below the limit, usually gets matched to a higher-ranked clan? In such a case, if your clan wins, do your clan gets awarded the higher-rank winnings? Thx.

    I got the same msg from Rovio. I could not find AB2 in Game Center under iCloud options. Turning off the Game Center either under iCloud or directly under settings did not help me. Only changing the iPhone language to English (w/out deleting and reinstalling the AB2 app) solved the problem.

    I am also a bit puzzled by the Rovio msg saying “log back into FB account after deletion and reinstallation to restore game progress”. What if we don’t have an FB account or not connecting to an FB account? How reliable is Facebook in restoring the game progress? Isn’t the AB2 app recording our game progress to the AB2 servers? Is connecting to an FB account beforehand the only quick solution if someone is, for example, switching to a new phone?

    Bill, Glad to hear that yours is opening now but my problem persists though I also turned the phone off and on twice. No other irregularity with the phone except with the AB2 app.

    Everything went back to normal a few hours after the battle started. Of course we still have the spells but the battle does not end before we run out of birds! Thank you!

    Please note that my question is not about the spells being allowed in such a battle. It is about the battle ending before I run out of birds/cards.

    One member in our clan said that this appeared to be a “fixed number of rooms” battle. A good strategy in such a battle is likely to be not to play the battle with the extra birds, i.e. Stella or Hal, because these birds are less destructive than the regular birds and one does not need extra birds at all due to the low number of rooms.

    I guess it did! LOL.

    Though I had good internet service, I had been getting a “connection error” whenever I try some part of the app requiring a connection to the AB2 servers over the last few hours. Now it says “under maintenance” whenever I try the same parts.

    I was afraid I would need to delete the app and reinstall it but then I could risk losing the user data and the history. Good to know that the problem is not with whatever is on my phone!

    Thank you for all the replies! I figured out later that what had happened to me might be related with a major update to the AB2 app that occurred around that time. After the app on my phone was updated, the missing 3 players reappeared in the arena.  I reckon Rovio made some changes to the software running on their servers at the same time but those changes did not go as smoothly as they expected.  Happy slinging!
