A HUGE Angry Birds Epic update (v1.2.1) is now available to download for iOS and Android! As usual, the best place to chat about Epic is in the Angry Birds Epic Forum. More specifically, if you want to chat about this update @angryjohnny created a topic here that contains a bunch of very useful info. You are also definitely welcome to leave a comment below.
On a high level this update includes:
- Player vs. Player Arena! Battle other teams and defeat their banners!
- Customize your team banner with powerful parts!
- Win in the weekly leagues for epic rewards!
- Climb the ladder in the Arena Leagues – can you make it to the Diamond tier?
- Plus, look out for an upcoming special holiday event!
Obviously, the major component of this update is the new PvP Arena. The two high points to consider are:
- There are 3 daily objectives, which boost your reward medals.
- You can loose at most 3 times in a day. 3 strikes, and you have to wait until tomorrow (or pay to revive)
But as you dig in there is a lot to learn. Again, @angryjohnny continues to be awesome (thanks!) and offers up some great tips for Arena battles. They include:
- The arena has its own Golden Pig Machine and free rolls on friend’s GPM. You get items to upgrade your banner from them and you can even get set items.
- The goal is not to take down the opposing team’s birds, but to take down the other team’s banner.
- Of course taking out the birds makes it easier since they will also attack your banner.
- The Arena has daily challenges (shown in the top right corner of the previous posted picture). Click on the “Event” banner in the top left to view them in greater detail.
- The Arena Leagues is weekly (Monday to Sunday).
- You can, besides just fighting in the Leagues, also challenge your friends in non-ranked battles. Just view your friends in the Totem Pole and click the battle icon beside their names to fight them. There does not seem to be any rewards for doing this though.

Anyone else can’t login in Epic? With the update, the login bar stops right away (using andyroid)
Yes, I am on an iPhone but unable to login to FB. I am logged in in a browser and app but Epic won’t recognize.
Well, my problem is a bit worse than that. I can’t even log in to the game (the title screen bar freezes while saying loging-in). I’ve read several comments with the same issue in the google store page of epic. I hope they solve it soon

My phone works (KitKat) but Tab3 does stop right away “logging in” point. Double time uninstall and install (with clear cache) no help.
It start right after update.
The video makes it look like it is really one player against another, not you against a computer.
Yeah, but Rovio also calls AB Go a “multiplayer game”, although you only play against computers.

Another great update for Epic!!! What a month for AB fans with all the new releases. Not enough time in the day to play all the updates but trying to keep up.
After burning lots of gold coins, here are the 5 Complete Set Items I get:
1. Mighty Head + Mighty Wings
2. Blazing Eye + Blazing Cloth
3. Sinister Head + Sinister Cloth
4. Blessed Idol + Bless Blanket
5. Frostheart + Frozen Hide

i manage to obtain Blazing Cloth which increase attack power by 10% but it doesnt work for me . My red(paladin) still deal 755 damage even with this Cloth equiped.Its my firs epic flag so i don’t know if rest are working.
Anyone having trouble after v1.2.1 update with Facebook login? I can’t connect to Facebook through APE and all my friends are gone! So sad.
I am having the same issue. I have tried to login in both the birds nest and battle boat. I am logged into the App and 2 web browsers but I can’t login in Epic. So frustrating. It says I have free spins on my friends but I can’t get to them!
Multiple times now, i have encountered a glitch where you cannot attack any more in an arena battle, cannot defend either. You are forced to shut down application and you get a loss. It seems to happen when the flag receives protection from say Matilda. When you try to attack prior to the bug, you get a weird delay and those fighters you try to fight with after during the next turn are bugged. Can’t so anything at that point. Can’t drag etc.
I have had this happen to me too. To counteract the effect I will target the bird that the banner has protection from in order to knock them out. After they are knocked out I will then go after the banner. This is will effectively disable the bug.
Hi, I have the same problem and the same “solution”. Since I vigorously attack the banner esp. when I am lower tier this is a workaround at best. Hope they fix it soon.
Thought this would be fun, but a lot of the “people” i’ve played must have hacked phones. Several times I’ve run into opponents that have each character have 8999 health, with a banner health of over 20,000. I don’t see how that’s even possible thru gameplay. Quite disappointed by that.
There is a bug during the arena. Sometimes the whole screen turns black and you can’t attack or do anything. This happens during a fight too.
It happens when I tap on the “pause” button
Event if you don’t touch the “pause button”, the game can crash ou freeze…
Way to go guys, is there a way to un update so I can play, again? Not only does it freeze at log in but now my samsung tab3 keeps
doing weird things, like giving me a fuzzy screen.
Since version 1.1.0 which came out more than 2 months ago, there is the following bug: when you upgrade your classes to level 10, they reappear in the class trainers on the map. And you can – by mistake – purchase them again.
I have seen at least 25 people here who reported this bug. Rovio should have fixed this bug during the last 2 months instead of bringing new stuff like arena leagues.
By the way, the annoying “you’ve got a present bug” is still there as well. For almost a year now.
I payed for lucky coins and used some for life back but couldn’t make any moves wasted lucky coins
for someone having trouble with no music in the arena, like me, just make sure youre progress is saved on your rovio account, delete the app and re-install. It will re-download all music and now its working fine.

Hey guys. A few days, Angry Birds Epic on my tablet suddenly froze. Today, 21/12/2014, I lost 2 arena battles. I won it with three stars and all sudden when I spin the “Wheel of Fortune”, it freezes and I can’t spin it. When I exit and restart again, it counts as a lose for me. It really stinks. If you have any trouble with this like me, please contact to Rovio.
Sometimes suddenly I cannot move my birds any more. It’s not actuelly frozen, but I have to quit then and lose the battle. This is not fun.
Does Rovio not have a testing team? What do they use our money and the money from these millions of ads for? I’m sorry to say this, but releasing so many bugged games is really unprofessional.
@chriss , I have been experiencing the same issue. However I found a way to avoid it.
Whenever the screen seems frozen, press the lock button on your device, wipe the screen and unlock the device. You should see the pause screen, from where you can resume and continue the game.
Hope this works. It worked for me.
But what does your device? It could work on your device but it maybe not for me, instead.

Getting frustrated and started screen shooting this latest event. Yesterday had worked my way up to 8000 points before last night a huge glitch happened where I couldn’t log in. When I finally could all my battles were lost. Continued playing and got up to 4000 points this morning, and kept the screen shot and once again its been reset to zero. It’s so frustrating using up potions to win these battles when it ends up all being lost!

I’m having a strange problem with player vs player battle. I haven’t logged in to it for a couple of days, and when I logged in today it says I already lost three times. How do I make it reset. I already shut off my device, logged out of the game, even logged out of the Facebook account and it still says I lost three battles today…. :( help….
I was wondering…. When the new updates coming out on windows lumia? Its not updated and i realy wanna pkay the new update…
