@martin-amgAds have seen slight improvement, now I can open like 1 out of 10, but mostly doesn’t work yet. Is someone actually testing this before putting it in the public? More than once I mean. When I reinstall the game and click on an ad for the first time it opens, but thats it, doesn’t work after that. Easiest way to test – open daily watch video quest.
If it’s an issue on OS side, then we should at least get more info about it, I checked the new App & browser control if its blocking AB2, but it’s not.
Time to investigate this some more maybe Rovio? I rarely play now, still waiting for a fix, but it’s been like a month since the issue occured, I mean this should be your top priority for the Windows version, because it makes the game hardly playable!
to @Birdbrained
As for MEBC, you get coins once after you finish it for each room you clear and on the next day you can get extra coins if you finish top 50 or below in your local daily board.
For example:
You clean everything until room 10, this is the second x5 room. Thats a total of 30 coins. As you exit MEBC, you are 1st in the local board and it says you will get 50 extra coins. However someone beats your score until 0:00 UTC time and on the next day you log in to find yourself second. This is where you actually get the points and it this case you get 30 coins for the second place, thus netting a total of 60 coins for the previous day.
Hope this helps.

@birdbrainedok, got a question for all you win 10 people.
clan stuff. since the last upgrade, in the clan postings, where it shows who did what.. like “Jerrybird just completed a winning streak” Or “bigbird3” just bought a legiondary hat.
How come lately I never see what I did? I did complete an arena streak today and also bought a legiondary hat.. but its not posted to our clan group – and I am co-leader there.
Do I need to uninstall then reinstall the game? And if I do will that cause me to loose everything I have accomplished so far?
Thanks
AMG
@martin-amgI get my clan messages, same as my clan mates, so no idea what’s causing the problem.
As for losing progress, I learned to save the game everytime I am about to leave the it, because I have it on two devices and sometime latest changes do not apply when I switch the device.
Birdbrained
@birdbrainedI don’t do Face book. Too many security issues.
That said, last night around 3am both win 10 and my android phone were doing updates and my game did a total lock up.. wouldn’t even start. After the win 10 update still would not start.. so I tried to uninstall it. It said it would leave the data files alone.
It wiped it all out. I did a ticket on the support page.. waiting for them to respond. Hope they fixed it with tonight’s maintenance run. I am not going to start from scratch again..

@morphy125I am having an issue with AB2 locking up when it goes to play an advert. I got up to level 31 on the tower and went play the advert and the game just locked up so i lost my acquired items so I not very happy. Also when the rare chest option comes that also looks the game. This only started happening today.
When I first open the game and played the first advert to get 5 gems was okay but after that it just kept locking so I had to use the task manger to close it.
Update tried run AB2 again but now the rare chest screen comes up but the advert will not play.

@martin-amgHi folks.
As of couple weeks at least, multiple players (I mean not few, but dozens), myself included have reported the game crashing after watching an ad. I even submitted a bug report to Rovio, only to get a reply of this sort: “Check your connection, don’t multitask, close background apps”. Apparently the issue is not with me only, also I’ve been playing for almost 2 years now, so I don’t need such an advise. These issues are obvious, so I hope Rovio is aware and working on a fix already. Also, I hope they have QA team to test things out before releasing. I admit, the issue might be coming from the OS itself, because someone noticed this happening after latest Windows updates. I also work for software company and when we have issues with the OS, we contact Microsoft to fix things on their end. They respond rather quickly to their partners. In the end the customer wants a working product, he doesn’t care if it’s the app, or the OS. Someone has to do something about it from either end until the issue is finally fixed.
If this sounds like a rant, well it is, everyone will get pissed off if the game crashes few times per day, especially during important events. Rovio, please do something about it already.

@drslothyI’m getting the same crashes, the game won’t even start for me. it will crash either during the starting/loading screen, or when the main menu shows. For days now I’ve been unable to play the game at all.
Same crash as everyone else has reported, the issue is clearly related to internet data or adverts – when I switch off my internet, I can play but obviously no clan games, no arena, no mighty eagle

@wil-dThe game in Windows version was last updated in February 2021, thus way too outdated if you compare to the latest version of AB2 on mobile. They still haven’t fixed the crashes in the game for the Windows 10 platform. It’s not even worth such a version of the game, though.

@morphy125I have this issue on and off since April. It seems that for some reason the memory and the CPU get overloaded.
I have an I7 CPU and 16 GB of ram and a Nvidia GTX 745 graphics card and this should handle this game without issue.
I have had task manager running and as the game runs the memory goes from 3GB and then peaks out at 15GB also the cpu goes 2% right up to 100% the game then locks and closes.
I have also tried to run it 2 other system that would normally be able run the game and they do the same.
I have emailed support loads of times and I not sure if I dealing with human or a bot
AB2 was last update in 2019 is not about time to update it.
Wil-D
@wil-dI think you meant the Windows 10 version of AB2. It was last updated to version 2.45.0 in February 2021.
boomboom
@morphy125@Wil-D okay my error regarding the update. Just on the splash screen you will 2019. If have an android version you will 2021 on the splash.
Regardless of that there is still a problem with the game. When running my CPU temperature when fully loaded by the game all 4 cores will peak 100 degrees centigrade.
Wil-D
@wil-dThe current splash screen of AB2 on the Windows 10 version is actually based on 2.45.0, the current version number.
My laptop has Intel Core 10th gen. i7-10750H (6-core) and NVIDIA RTX 2070. The game runs perfectly fine w/out any problem nowadays.

@morphy125Mine is an I7 6700 4 cores 8 threads desktop pc Acer t3-710 Windows 10 21h1 last update 2021/08/11 the problems started on the 12th. So is the issue with the windows update. Both the other 2 system are running win 10 21h1 and are of lower spec but all 3 have the same problem. They did all run AB2 in the past. I am not the only one with this issue, as there have several posting on Facebook reporting the same issue.
This game should not need a high spec system if it worked okay on the lower spec systems in the past.
I have fixed the temperature issue by redoing the heat sink paste and then had to change the fan as the old one would not start when put back on. But the memory and CPU problem is still there.
Wil-D
@wil-dHave you joined the group “Angry Birds 2 Gamers: Windows Platform” on Facebook? It’s the right place to post that.
boomboom
@morphy125Thanks I have done that. If I get an answer I will post it here.
Wil-D
@wil-dFrom my reply in Forums > Angry Birds 2 Forum > Has Rovio abandoned AB2?:
Since the game for the Windows 10 platform is a port of the mobile version of AB2, they don’t update now. It’s difficult to update to a newer version, in which the new Arena is included. The old, classic Arena’s final appearance was in v. 2.47.0. In present comparison, the current version no. is 2.56.0 in the mobile version, which is 11 versions ahead of the Windows 10 version (v. 2.45.0).
So Rovio may have abandoned AB2 for the Windows 10 platform?
boomboom
@morphy125I did find this on Facebook group you suggested.
1- Copy this address and look for it on your PC: “C:\Users\(Name of your pc user)\AppData\Local\Packages\1ED5AEA5.4160926B82DB_p2gbknwb5d8r2\LocalState”
2- Once you have accessed that folder, you must delete the folder called “VungleSDK” which is the one that causes the game to close. Just delete that folder, the others should not be deleted.
3- You could play now.As regards you latest post why are still push adverts for game extras. Which really ripping people of for a bad piece of software.
Birdbrained
@birdbrainedI dunno. I recently was given a very nice Galaxy tab A 10.1 inch tablet with a broken screen. Spent 80 bucks and got a new screen for it, installed it and its working great.
Downloaded AB2 for it and am playing it.. – yea it sucks to have to start from scratch, endless “examples” and “training”.. haven’t even made it to map 30 yet.
But I did notice the game play is a lot smoother than the windows 10 version, abit slower between rooms, due to the PC being wired directly to router and the tablet being wifi.Haven’t reached the point where I can play arena on the tablet yet. So I cannot compare those.. One thing is for sure.. on the Win 10 version, the maps past 1600 are just gem eaters.. better to stay at map 1000 and keep playing it time and time again. 2 boss pigs and one king pig for every time you do it and 3 stars for the 20 daily star requirement when you get that. And it only takes 3 birds to do it..
boomboom
@morphy125I have it on a tablet also but that is not the issue. I started on the pc and have brought some extras and that was a big mistake. I did play in the past on a tablet but stopped as the tablet was out of date. But once I restarted playing first on windows during the lockdown then I brought a cheap tablet I thought I could play the same on it but no they are now 2 different games.
And as it says above it seems Rovio do not care about the windows version.
gumshoe242
@gumshoe242This is what I know. I’ve had so much trouble that I’ve even resorted to a nuke and pave…. remove all partitions, create new ones, format, re-install Windows 10. Twice. The issue is resolved for about 2 days and then AB2 corrupts everything again. The app for Windows 10 doesn’t work properly and apparently, it never will. I’m done… there’s a technical problem that Rovio refuses to address. Uninstalling for the final time… not spending even one more penny on this game.
Wil-D
@wil-d@morphy125 I don’t have the folder called “VungleSDK” in the same location on my PC. I rarely see an advert involving any game on the MS Store nowadays, when I watch an ad video for a free reward. In regards to your tablet, is that one running Android OS? If so, AB2 is a mobile app available on the Play Store.
@birdbrained The Arena was significantly updated in Dec. 2020, if you play the mobile version: see https://angrybirds2.rovio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018140759-The-New-Arena-is-Here- and https://angrybirds2.rovio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018162619-What-is-the-Arena-all-about-boomboom
@morphy125@wil-d I have the AB2 on the tablet but you cannot transfer what have on the pc to the tablet version. As for the VungleSDK it is there as it is the same on all 3 computers that run AB2. You need to have show hidden files ticked on explorer to find it. It gets put back in there once you restart the game.
The only problem now is to login to FB as for some reason the login page is not working so I cannot reclaim my old profile on my main system. Luckily I have it running on another system. But I would like get all on the main one.
Wil-D
@wil-dYou didn’t answer my question: Is your tablet an Android tablet? AB2 has the newest version of the mobile app for Android and iOS, but progress is only transferable from Android to iOS and vice versa. I didn’t find the “VungleSDK” folder while showing all hidden files on my PC either. Luckily, I don’t have such a folder. I suggest you move away from the Windows 10 version of AB2. For the record, there are no Rovio-based apps ever released for Windows 10 since Angry Birds Friends and AB2 (both released in 2019).
boomboom
@morphy125I assumed that you would take it that it was an Android OS on the tablet. When I said you cannot transfer what you have from the PC to the tablet. And I checked have checked both PC’s and that folder is on both of them.
I do not like the Android version as the arena game is biased towards the game and not the human.
Over and out :-)
Wil-D
@wil-dI don’t have an Android tablet. And I abandoned my AB2 W10 original account that was connected to my Facebook account almost a year ago. I have FP 900-950 in the mobile version of AB2. I’m happy with this. Like me, the vast majority of AB2 mobile players outnumbers W10 players. Aside from the Windows 10 version, I mainly play AB2 on my own Android smartphone and an iPhone, period.
