    OMG! Good luck mate!!! All us Yoshis will be cheering for you! :P

    This “C001er” guy has also started grinding and took 2nd place and won’t give it to me… I had to grind some more to overtake someone else and take 3rd place again. 13 minutes, fingers crossed!!!

    @smwforever45 @angryde So what happened? We need an update!

    I echo that @angryjohnny
    What happened with our German/expat friends?

    I finished first, but spent far too many FE ensuring the 10 Shard, so I am not too happy.

    @dallasreds you are more than right. I can imagine the little Yoshi grin right now :)

    And since @angryde hordes everything, what’s another something to be kept close to the chest?

    Me and @angryde don’t start the new week until noon the next day or so. :P
    I just wanna avoid the super competitive groups right after the end of the old week.

    @smwforever45 @pointless @dallasreds @angryjohnny Lol and sorry, was distracted by German dubbed re-runs of Star Trek DS9 last night… my primary learning tool XD

    Yeppers, I managed to finish in 3rd, somehow. Another 10x e-shards, yay! That makes 203 at the moment. Not as many as some other folks!!

    @angryde
    Aha! I sometimes refresh/learn English or French by playing video games :D Everyone’s got their own way I see :D

    I finished in 2nd!!! Unfortunately the game did not give me the enchantment shards. :-(

    EDIT: Last week I didn’t get a single impossible objective…
    Today, I’m presented with the T-Bird and Cleric objective. Aaaaaagh! I only have 87 LC’s! D:

    EDIT 2: Completely forgot to mention, I battled @kookaburra67 in the Arena yesterday.
    Not a bad team at all. Lightning Bird instead of Wizard is an interesting choice.

    @jennt

    @pointless, ah, that makes sense. Now I understand! I only play ABE, so I’m not really a gamer. I was wondering how the arena worked. Now I get it…we’re just playing against user’s teams that exist within the game; not the user directly. I couldn’t imagine we were playing against a user directly anyway…I often fail to take my turn because things happen and I put my phone down and forget it, lol.

    RedYoshi45
    @smwforever45

    I swear, F**k the “Kill 3 birds in a single attack” objective!!!
    I only got it to work a single time… Afterwards, I tried my hardest to get the birds to the ideal health to KO them all with Bomb but in the round afterwards, either Bomb was KO’d (even with Paladin’s shielding), or his helpful effect was removed, or the enemies resurrected, or one of those birds managed to survive somehow!
    On my final try, I had ALL my birds become KO’d in the first round due to Time Jump proccing all three times in the first round of the enemy, and I lost within three rounds with NO chance to turn it around!
    I have three losses, can’t continue without paying and I’m BOILINGLY mad!

    Is anyone successful with a different strategy than Paladin/Wizard/Capt’n? Anyone?

    Angry Johnny
    @angryjohnny

    @smwforever45 I use Paladin/Pirate/Skulkers.

    Paladin for shielding, Pirate to increase attack on all birds with his party ability Arrr! and Skulkers can decrease the defense on all enemies with his party ability Weak Spot if they use it on themselves.

    Just look out what enemies you encounter as Chuck with Mana Set Items can dispel Skulkers attack.

    Pointless
    @pointless

    @smwforever45 bring Witch in lieu of Paladin to help alleviate the damage issue. Keep Wizard, as he’ll take the brunt of the damage and keep Capt’n up. Really is an objective that can only be done consistently if you win the toss.

    RedYoshi45
    @smwforever45

    @pointless I actually tried Wizard/Witch/Capt’n but it wasn’t really successful…

    I didn’t win very often… :( I won maybe two of the coin tosses, but had a dozen attempts…

    @angryjohnny

    Don’t have Skulkers yet sadly… :(

    I didn’t meet Mana sets too often… but Resurrection fellows were much more common. I also had a lot of Save Me!/Reborn couples.

    @smwforever45 I tend to use eMage, Capt’n and Spies for that objective. Really good for keeping the birds health even.

    I know you’ve had a lot of advice on the matter and since I’m not a genius player take this for what it’s worth: You need to get ETbird up to M15. Yes the wizard puts out more power but when you buff with Tbird the damage it deals is crucial especially since if they knock themselves out that’s one extra turn they stay down. This is crucial to defend a valiant banner since if your birds knock the opponent out they only stay down for one turn(65% of the time anyway?). His attacks also make the target take 25% more damage so he’s not as weak as he seems. I apologize if you already knew this or if my memory is faulty and you don’t have ETbird, but right now I use Paladin,ETbird, & Witch and I purposely don’t enchant Witch’s set items up too much so that she has less power than ETbird and consequently is knocked out first. I don’t lose with this combo except for game freezes and rare opponent power surges. It does take longer than @pointless strategy however most of my matches are over in less than 2 minutes. The key is only using the birds supportive abilities when necessary(and using ETbirds supportive ability before a rage attack), but I’m sure you already knew that? This strategy may also make the game freeze more as I average 2 game freezes a day, but then again I average 10000 grinding points a day recently.

    EDIT- Obviously ETbird is effective against birds like Chuck or Red’s Samurai who deal damage in multiple hits and not so much against single attack birds.

    @smwforever45

    Specifically in regard to your objective, if they win the coin toss and Chuck is defeated, protect Bomb with Red and when Chuck gets up hit with Chuck and then use Bomb with rage. ETbird is still effective in this circumstance

    @smwforever45

    I apologize, I just checked your comments in the Mastery Points thread and realize you don’t have ETbird? Hope I didn’t anger the Red Yoshi(honorary manbeast) further? My only other suggestion is to use Blues Rogues supportive ability which would weaken opponents(hopefully without killing them) and would take the focus off Bomb

    @partshade
    If the enemies start out with equal or mostly equal health that is. :P I very often face mega tanky Paladins and Samurais (6k-9k health) and rather weak Wizards and Spies (2.5k-4.5k health). While I could always target the strongest enemy there’s always that risk of a chain attack where I don’t need it, and suddenly the opposing Chuck is KO’d and I have to wait to try again :(

    @shapokomanbeast

    I had the choice – but after the Jungle event, I went for Sea Dog first before buying Thunderbird. Even if I had him, he would be M6 and thus useless because he’d have such low health.

    Pointless
    @pointless

    @smwforever45 you are correct that you can’t rely solely on equal damage. That’s why I’ve had success with Wizard (AoE obviously) and one Bird with a rather heavy single target attack (eg Witch). Capt’n buffs himself, Wizard hits highest enemy and Witch hits next highest, usually bringing them all to within the range of Bomb’s Rage. Let Chuck be KOd, hit again with Witch, if necessary, then explode. Doesn’t work every time, as luck with the procs is needed, but then you have Witch to save the battle and live to fight another day.

    @smwforever45

    ?about ETbird. I agree with @pointless suggestion but I do encourage rogues use in the situation you described to @partshade. Hit Red w/ rogues first and let the AoE(not sure if that’s the right term) damage wear him down. I know arena opponents have been throwing out way too much damage lately which forces me to use the line-up I use. I use to play a lot with Wizard, Princess, and Rogues before the Valiant banner and was very successful playing with that lineup and Blessed Banner and completed many 3 ko’s w/1 strike objectives. Valiant banner changed everything for better or worse.

    ShapokoManbeast
    @shapokomanbeast

    @smwforever45

    Also not sure what banners or sets you have but I was just using Paldin,Wizard,Witch with blessed banner and changed to mana set so I could regulate my damage more. Chuck’s resurrection set is even better since it doesn’t deal out much bonus damage. With the blessed banner I had to be more careful since my birds were down for 2 to 3 turns, but I never lost once against heavy hitters and was able to get the objective in 6 tries ?

    Pointless
    @pointless

    @shapokomanbeast I am quite surprised at your success with that lineup. Your only option for the KO three is Wizard’s AoE. You have to be lucky and have Rogues not KO an enemy, as that’s your hardest hitter, not to mention that Cupcake will only KO one at a time. Did you just bring the enemy all down to the right level and have a timely Wizard attack? I have completed this Objective with Paladin/DB before, but it’s certainly not something I would say is a given strategy.

    ShapokoManbeast
    @shapokomanbeast

    @pointless

    Are you talking about before Valiant or what I did today? Before Valiant it was quite easy with Wizard, Princess, Rogues, it was very easy because there wasn’t the damage dealt out by the opponents and Blessed reduces enemy attacks by 20% so Princess forced them to attack the banner all day while you could deal whatever controlled damage you wanted which is why I would use Chuck with the Phoenix set so that I would know the exact damage I was given. Today when I tried I had to buff like a madman with Witch and Paladin but it was only a matter of time. I also didn’t use Rogues because I ditched his resurrection set long ago, but if you still have it you can control the damage with the blessed banner. Like I said it’s much more difficult to control with a valiant banner, and that’s why I had to switch to Blessed. I’m not saying this is effective in the arena today as all my battles were prolonged, but to ensure the 3 in 1 objective your attacks can leave nothing to chance. Mana wasn’t reliable because it gave too much damage which was why it took 6 tries.

    Also “back in tha day” I never finished battles quickly but I also didn’t know about SRC grinding until I found this site so many birds were underpowered. I tried many combos(never had the TJ proc for the longest time)but Wizard, Princess, Rogues worked the best for me.

    Nowadays my banner would get annihilated in 3 turns by opponents?

    EDIT- And yes I would get all of them down to very little power before a Wizard attack. Like I said the battles were drawn out and buffed with Princess and when necessary would force an attack on Rogues

    Pointless
    @pointless

    That seems like a lot of work :P
    The buff Capt’n/Pirate and mete out damage in a controlled fashion prior to a Bomb Rage seems altogether a better way to go.

    ShapokoManbeast
    @shapokomanbeast

    Not arguing with that fact but it seems poor Red Yoshi is getting beat up with Bomb, just giving other options. As I said this forum opened my eyes to other strategies mostly in part to experienced ones such as yourself and now when I do the 3 in 1 objective I indeed use Captain and a Bomb rage.
