About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

With the latest update the cheaters seem to be coming out of the woodwork. I am level 80, and now I am playing against players over level 100. Worse yet are the players at level 20, all bird levels at 16, all pirate hats, gold slingshot, and using all 5 spells. How is this fair I have no chance of winning anything. For the past few weeks it seemed to be halfway fair.

I hit the door to exit instead up popped one of the other players record. I think it’s fair to say the whole arena is fried!
Reporting glitches does no good. The commercials don’t even run correctly.

Since the new upgrade I have played level 1 of the Arena three times and lost each one by about 10 stars – I normally win level 1 by 8-10 stars.

But even funnier – I’m now playing someone with, guess what, 5 spells!!

So I guess Rovio is really short of cash so they are really screwing us now. Well I’m not going to be screwed like everyone else is.

Well, I’m literally appalled with this update. @3star-jeff is right

– Matching algorithm is HORRENDOUS and the spell clowns are back with a vengeance. So adbjester’s breakdown is no longer valid. I don’t care about not matching star levels because they’re irrelevant to winning but when you’re pitting people with all 16 levels birds with DIFFERENT slingshots…that’s where I draw the line. I’m thinking about to throw in the towel. It sees way too many updates and usually it’s for the worst…80 more tedious campaign levels, yay. Least the boss levels are interesting.

Look at my experience so far with the 3 matches I had now

Every bird in my flock except Red and Chuck are at level 16, all wearing street caps (Bomb now has a cowboy hat) with a gold slingshot and I bring 5 spells ALL the time (but seems that mine are at level 15) because I have prolific players to compete with.

FIRST ROUND: Streak 7 – Opponents Birds were at level 7,8, 10 respectively with a gold sling and 4 level 1 spells. Beat them no problem. Seem WAY TOO easy for 500 feathers but I’ll take my win regardless. They seemed to fix the elder silver color.

ROUND 2: Streak 1 – Opponents birds were ALL level 16 with 3 pirate hats ( ain’t it strange that they got them this early) with 4 level 1 spells and with I repeat an AMETHYST sling shot (which means he somehow hacked the game to get the pearls needed to get all beach caps and pirate hats). I NEARLY lost that one. Only got 5 stars.

ROUND 3: Streak 2 – very similar to round 2

I’ll be skipping over the beach caps for now, since it isn’t really worth it. I’ve been saving up for months to purchasing cowboy hats. Pirate hats are ridiculous expensive. 1000 pearls each? They do as much damage as a cowboy hat?

After this morning update, arena is at its worst in horrible level.

– Spell users are back in full force.
– Structures are way harder to break. Even Terence bounced off few times!
– My birds are in Levels 11 + 12. I ran into people that are at levels 14+ and loaded with spells.
– Top of leader board (Diamond League) are people with silver + bronze slingshots. How many gems did they pay to get there?

We need the Arena Shuffling back!!!! Group the crazy tickets spammers together and leave us casual players to our own groups.

Can we stop the multiple devices users to share their lives, gems, tickets among the devices? Instead of 1 Free Entry + 1 video every 3 hrs, they multiply that to the number of devices they have!!!! It is not a myth guys, my wife does it on 1 Android phone + 2 iPads, she wins essentially every single week and can compete with the 1000+ stars range people.

What a cluster the Arena has become today. Opponents are Level 14/15 to my 9/10 in Streak 1 (and it gets worse from there). Every one of them carrying a full load of specials in every streak. I’m lucky to scratch out 5 points here and there. My lead is very quickly dwindling to people who came from nowhere. Rovio’s got some ‘splainin to do…which they wont!

@klm13 I don’t have a lead to start with and now sinking quickly to middle of no where. I have to struggle just to get into the bottom end of the reward range for the token amount of gems and black pearls (less than what I gain per day from bonus + gifts). And yet I have way too many stars to get demoted.

I want to get demoted to the lowest league again but I don’t want to play the minimum for 7 weeks. Can I have a quick way? I am keeping all the birds levels etc., just want to go seal clubbing down there.

I’m in Montreal, Canada

The hats are available to purchase in the arena. You have to go the arena and choose the bird, the way you originally changed the avatar.

– School hats cost 20 pearls each and offer a +1 multiplier.
– Beach caps cost 100 pearls each and offer a +2 multiplier.
– Pirate hats cost a WHOPPING 1000 pearls each and offer a +3 multiplier.

I’m going to assume if you get ALL these hats, you’ll upgrade to a Diamond sling shot. but what’s next (elder bronze sling perhaps). I’m peed off on with these hats and these constant updates The beach and school caps should have been introduced way back when hats were introduced. I’ve worked hard for month to get cowboy hats to upgrade to Azure and I’m seeing lesser hats that will do the same. Well okay then. The pirate hats are ridiculous. 1000 pearls is nuts and people have already got the infinite pearls cheat to get it.

You should send that pic to Rovio support and we should complain to them on support to fix the screwed up matching algorithm. @hank says he wants us to earn the hats, yet he’s oblivious as to the numerous cheaters like Tatyana that hack the game and have a full blown nest on this early. You’re 100% right. This is an outrage.

Please fix the matching algorithm asap or start making black pearls available to purchase. I don’t mind spending a few gems here and there on daily challenges and the main levels, but having to having the option to spend gems on nearly match on the arena because I’m constantly being outmatched on all 7 streaks just try to compete in the top 3 tournament is ludicrous.

I lost level one by two million. I never lose level one. My 11s + a 12 against 13s and 14s with a full deck of spells.

What a load of b.s. I just ran into someone who is starting level 11 yet they had all levels 16 birds, pirate hats and a diamond slingshot. I took a screen shot forward to Rovio of an obvious cheat and they don’t care. I’m done I’m out. And I have been stupid enough to spend almost $300 u.still. playing ab2. I am calling AMEX and getting a refund.

I have spent only few bucks getting the extra life and the crown on red bird.

Arena was playable when the leaderboards shuffles were in place 3+ updates ago. At least attempts were made to group the crazy people in their own group where everyone have similar scores, and casual players compete against similar levels. These days if you cannot get ahead by at least 100 stars to the next person, your lead will be gone in few hours as someone will beat you by at least 100 stars!!!

2 weeks ago I play the minimum of 1 game per 3 hrs just to get the streak’s feathers. I ended up with 40 tickets and managed to get myself demoted 1 league down (planned). I am not sure whether that is possible now with those cheaters you have to play against being 2+ levels higher than yourself. On some game I suspect I will still loose even if I go into with all spells, watch videos, and spend 60 gems.

@jon3800…the new hats are available to me here in the US. In the Nest, choose a bird and swipe; you should see them. Why pay 1000 gems for the pirate hats when the multiplier is no different than the cowboys hats for 500 gems?

Thanks Jon I got an update right after I exited the forum. Haven’t opened it yet.

I am thinking of deleting the game with all the blatant cheaters who call it taking advantage of bugs! It isn’t much fun playing against them when I don’t want to resort to stooping that low! If I can’t win on my own why play?

Stay with Daily Challenge and regular levels until the arena nightmares are fixed.

Simple things like leaderboard shuffles and fair match making will do it. As for regular levels I am essentially back to waiting mode few days after they release new levels.

Good God what a sh!tshow this app has become. After this ‘update’ the game is more messed up than ever. Arena is out of control- hackers/cheaters now have full reign to do anything they want. HOW ARE THESE PLAYERS IMMEDIATELY WALKING IN WITH 4 PIRATE HATS AND A GOLD SLINGSHOT ALREADY?? That means they would have had 4000 black pearls banked and how was it possible to amass those in such a short time? My first Arena match and after I throw 2 birds my opponent has 4,000,000 pts to my 1,200,000 and my birds/hats/slingshot are ALL RANKED HIGHER THAN THEIRS. Needless to say I was wiped off the face of the board by the end (opponent final score: 10,455,000… no thanks)

This so-called King Pig Challenge… yeah right. Why would I even WANT voluntarily to subject myself to 5 rounds of Rovio’s sh!ttiest structured rooms when my chances of succeeding at those is practically NIL? You get one shot, if you run out of birds (almost 100% chance that will happen because NONE of those rooms are ‘Strike-able’) that’s it, you’re out for good. If you quit, you’re done. No re-entry chance. Well, I’ll be ‘X’-ing out of this from now on. What a waste of time. I gave it a shot and didn’t even clear the 3rd round, and I consider myself a good player.

So: Rovio gives us another opportunity to win larger amounts of black pearls, but they make it so impossible it’s like shooting skeets in the dark. They giveth on one hand but they taketh away on the other.

It think it’s time to delete this app, and any other Rovio apps and move on. Rovio has just recycled its existing non-working garbage into a few more so-called ‘challenges’, raised the birds levels YET AGAIN but in essence it is just the SAME REPEATED JUNK in another wrapper. You are a one-trick pony Rovio, stop trying to sell us that you’ve added something ‘new’. It’s clear they will keep on riding this wave, just adding new bird tiers, new ‘challenges’ of existing crap, more of this and more of that, higher accomplishments and higher bars to reach, which essentially do nothing but rank players into another hamster wheel to keep encountering the wunderkind who seem to always have everything at the highest levels.

@angryplayer and others who wonder about “Multiple lives and Daily Challenge”:

Either at the screen where you are asked to use gems to continue OR when situation is bad. Close the application of Angry Birds 2. When you re-start AB2 you can restart from the beginning of the level. You can do this until you run out of lives. For regular Daily Challenge you just have to wait for the timer to get you more lives and go again.

I found this out when AB2 crashed on my Android phone sometimes ago in Daily Challenge. I came back in and it allows me to continue at the start of the level. This trick has been tested in both iPad and Android. Different ways to close AB2, same outcome.

I had it crash in the daily challenge and when I restarted the game it restarted at level 1 even tho I had been in the boss level when it crashed!

The trick does work on King Pig Challenge. I tried this morning. However I wasn’t playing fast enough so by the time I restart the game I have only 4 mins left and yet to clear level 3. BTW I could not go through level 3 the 2nd time around either because it is tough without spells. Ran out of time.
