At the end of the day it depends on one’s resources, time, and money that is. I was he11 bent to get Red to level 10, and had a good streak, so I burned a few tickets from my stash. Red is at level 10 now and all is good.

Rovio really messed up the strategy tho. Good players have the means to get better without too much effort (last two weeks I’ve been hitting 7-streaks nearly at will, with 500 feather bundles. But getting a few birds to 9+ was a struggle. Now it’s simply pick a date and time and fling away. The game has a reverse normal distribution feel to it, that is, there’s a bunch of good players blowing away everything that moves (I’m not :)) and a bunch of average players trying to earn a few pearls or gems. And nothing in between. I understand Rovio’s desire to get the latter group to buy up stuff with real dollars, but it really messes the game up.

And yea, there may be no cheaters in the traditional sense, but when I see someone with all level 10 birds that can’t score more than a couple million points in a match it’s really sad for the game.

I completely agree @cognitive, Rovio’s obvious grab for cash over and over again is what is killing the game.

I remember back to the original Angry Birds, where you simply bought the game and enjoyed it, and the ever continuing expansion / updates.

Now they give the game away for free, and charge stupid amounts of money to actually achieve anything. For those that don’t have the cash to spare, they also give you silly amounts of in game ads where again Rovio just rakes in the cash, but even then, in game ads are limited to a few ads every few hours, so really those players have little chance to catch up.

I actually do believe there are cheaters as per a screenshot I supplied earlier in this thread when someone had the Blue slingshot within a week of the update being released. I also believe there are score cheaters, and you can see that when players jump hundreds of points within a few minutes each and every time instead of scoring between 5-10 points per ticket.

I just don’t think every high score automatically means a cheater.

@maiasatara @heybert17 I didn’t see the last room at all on my Android but finally after many, many tries I got there and beat the dang pig on my iPad. I did have to spend 60 gems to get more birds, but that was ok for me.

If it makes you feel any better, all my birds are 7 & 8 on both devices. My Android is close to having a level 9, but if I make it there tomorrow, I’ll still have 3 who are only 7. :-)

I agree that Terrance has become almost worthless. It’s too bad.

Agree Terrance is now a worthless bird. I am spending this week collecting tickets. The game has gotten a bit boring with minimal challenge. Already collected 20 tickets.

Game is definitely rigged. Less cheaters but now the biggest cheater is Rovio. ?

@laxietoo, I have never been able to get my android phone to sync AB2 with my tablet. When I open the game on my phone, it always goes to level one (I’m in the 500’s on my tablet). How did you get your devices to sync?

@james-simon I don’t sync them. I play them separately. :-) Are you sure you’re logged into FB on both devices? If not, do so and see what happens. Good luck!

@james-simon connecting games on two or more devices to same FB account should sync your games on all devices. In my case it sync my star levels and bird levels, but it doesn’t sync my gems, I am not sure if it is normal.

Has anyone noticed since the update to fix the spell issue that it seems like the lower level players seem to have a huge advantage. I’m a pretty good player in my opinion with over 50 tournament wins and my birds are level 12 & 13 birds with every bird having a hat for 2x scoring and I’m having players with all 10 & 11 birds with no hats beating me every time by 2 million points. It seems like they have 3 more cards than me but it doesn’t show up at the beginning. If I want to win I either have to use spells or gems. Something has changed but I haven’t figured it out yet.

@cosmo2503 I am logged into my FB account on the tablet and the phone, but I’m on level 535 on the tablet and level 1 on the phone. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled FB and AB2 on the phone several times, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Any ideas welcome! Thanks.

The arena went all wrong on me today. Won 1st streak no problem but was then slaughtered on 2 and 3. Playing as well as I ever did. It all felt so loaded. Top three people in my league all have similar-sounding, one-word names and are ahead by hundreds. Hmmm ?

I really like AB2, but there definitely has been a major change in the match-ups in the arena since the latest update. Now I am lucky to win the first two matches, then I regularly get blown out by 3 or 4 million. It doesn’t help that I have one bird at 11, 3 at 10 and 3 at 9 and the match-ups are against 12s and 13s. It just seems like match-ups have gone from one extreme to another since the update.

The other question I have is how can someone (the person in 2nd in my league) already have an azure slingshot with no hats or crowns on their birds?

Anyway back to flinging with a bit of frustration.

@davetv & @psygaz yes my arena is on STEROIDS today as well. I go into a game, according to the challenge screen they have no spells, I take in 5 spells, yet everyone including lower level players are beating me by over 2-3 million.

Whatever changed since that spell update fix, seems to have completely screwed the arena…..any thoughts @hank as it is just not right and it hasn’t been this screwed up since before the original pearl update.

Chucky, if you have difficulty I am counting my blessings :). I noticed it too today, thankfully I put up 150 stars the first day and I’m in the Thriftspend league, everyone advances every 3 hours by 5-7 points. Lolz. Good luck there.

Have to agree with ya man. That spell fix screwed the arena up yet again and bloated opponent scores that PLAGUED by the last update are back. I really wish Rovio play tests their fixes before releasing it. I used to be able to beat every opponent now I CAN’T even compete with them, and all my birds are maxed out at level 13 and have crowns. Really frustrated that I lost not once but TWICE to a 1st streak opponent that managed to get an astonishing 8.5-9 million points with level 10-11 birds and here I was at 6 million. How’s that even possible?

Another major thing I noticed since this update, premium chests for me, have only gave me spells, have not seen a sinlge feather. Maybe it’s because I’m maxed out, I don’t know but also noticed that DC’s replaced 100 feathers with another premium chest. I can’t say I’m not happy about it, since completing Chuck’s ungodly DC (really despise 3rd level 6 room boss stages), it DID award with 2 mighty eagles

That is normal. When you sync your data, it only syncs your star rank, your place in the arena, your bird levels, bird feathers and your status in the main campaign

It does NOT sync gems, black pearls, spells and your current streak in the arena. Recently I use that to my advantage to rack up feathers :)

@jon3800 When you say ‘syncs your status in the Arenz, but not your current streak,’ does this mean you can play on two devices in the Arena simultaneously to add to your total weekly League star rank – effectively doubling your free plays?

I noticed that an old bullshit is back with the new update:
The opponents get points and birds when the match is almost over and you thought before that you’d win easily.

Does anyone know if it is still possible to collect Arena tickets and practically play first 2 levels endlessly? As I noticed in bugged update before this one if we didn’t enter battle after system chose opponent ticket was deducted from total anyway.

Experiencing the same Arena pattern as yesterday, though today I even lost level 1 by two million points. Otherwise not got beyond level 2. This has never happened before.

Can’t get anywhere near the top three who have been sitting there from the start of the tournament.

Think I may have to give the Arena a miss for a while, it’s doing my head in. Anyone know what happens if you’re demoted from Diamond?

@psygaz – can tell you what happens as I gave up on the Arena a few weeks ago and subsequently dropped from the giddy heights of Diamond league to now languish in Gold.

The annoying thing, if you care enough to want to get promoted back, is that having gone down to Amethyst with the first demotion, looking at my fellow competitors in the new lower league, every single one was still classed as being in Diamond! Again, week after week, having gone down a league I noticed I was invariably pitched against players from the league above, from which I’d just been demoted.

This hardly seems fair, but was my experience and I’d be interested to know if this is generally the case or I’m being persecuted for not bothering to play anymore – just collect the daily feathers.

Maybe the Arena match-ups are fairer in the lower leagues?

Yeah, I’m getting murdered in the Arena this morning too, lost 10 out of the last 12 plays. Opponent seems to always get 4 million or better, going upwards of 8 million.

@djangosmum Thanks ever so for your reply, all useful to know. Doesn’t sound very fair to me but then I don’t think the Arena’s been at all fair since the last update. I’ve not got past level two (30 feathers) in four days! If I was playing badly or it was a bit of bad luck, I’d be fine with it. If anything my birds are higher scoring, I have the crown set etc.

As @dmsral is saying, it’s got a bit dispiriting, a bit woeful.

Count me in as another who’s getting worked up. Last night, I lost 5 of the last seven matches. WTF Rovio?!
