About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

@hank Something strange has happened after the latest update. I lost a huge part of my saved from chests and purchased spells (about 20 magic ducks & 20 chillies). And this problem is still unsolved since the amount of unused spells reduces w/out any logic. Hank, as far as I can see, I’m not alone with this problem here. Please, fix this pretty damn expensive bug ASAP.
P.S. Who will (or how can I) restore my lost spells?

Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at about 6:45pm I got slammed with many of my old favorite bullshit circumstances four rounds in a row. It started when I got to the 100 feather reward in the streak.

It began with:
1. Unlikely Survival of a Lone Bird and then
2. Competitor Behind Me By 1 Million Gets Miraculous 2 Million Point Comeback With Last Bird.

Then I LOST a round 1 match in the SECOND ROOM to:
3. One Far Far Away Princess Survives My One And ONLY YELLOW BIRD and I Futilely Fling Remaing Six Birds But None Cone Even Remotely Close.

Barely win next reset Round 1 then lost in Round 2 to:
4. Birds Hit Targets But Do Zero Damage and Fall Dead Out Of The Sky Laughing.

I knew it was too good to be true. If I didn’t love all my fellow, commiserating players so much I’d be shouting I TOLD YOU SO from the rooftops (picture Mary Poppins style with Dick Van Dyke and the blow softened by some animated penguins.)

Hope to be proven wrong. Doubt I will be. Let’s see how the week plays out.

@Hank I have been playing AB2 for a while and I wanted to comment on the latest update. I really like the changes that were incorporated in the update. Matches in the arena are fairer, there is more of a chance to conquer the daily challenge and I really like the new hats. I don’t know if it is an aberration but my league this week is the toughest I have been placed in yet. But beside that fact I would like to thank you, your team and Rovio for the changes.

There is one glitch that has been alluded to by several other members in this forum. Spells seem to disappear for no particular reason. I probably would not have noticed since I hoard my spells, but after using gems to get 6 mighty eagles and 9 inflated pigs, I noticed they slowly disappeared from my stash without me using them. I believe what is happening is that as you play the regular levels, the daily challenge, and the arena; if a spell is awarded because the destructo-meter is filled, a spell equivalent to the awarded spell is deducted from your saved stash. I appreciate how busy you are being short-staffed right now, but I thought this might be something that could be looked at when there is a chance. Thank you.

Agree with the comments on lost spells. Whenever a spell is awarded from chests or daily challenge it removes saved spells.

Another issue is if you get connection error when you select the battle button and even if you say retry when the connection error appears you loose a ticket but not the streak.

Something changed in the Arena today, and not for the better. Virtually every match now has me pitted against someone with much higher star rating, birds that are at levels way above mine, and usually spells. I’m having trouble winning even the first match. This is nether fair nor fun, and if it keeps up, my plan is to find more enjoyable ways to spend my time going forward.

Hi.
Asked you this morning, but did not get answers.

Spells, arena tickets and feathers keep disappearing for different reasons.
Consensus seems to be you should be addressing these issues in a very specific manner, now!

I guess Rovio is not doing this on purpose.
It surely is a bug, but players are loosing money and gems.
So an explanation, a fix and reimbursements are expected.

@hank, wouldn´t you agree with this huge minority?

Update one day later. That beakboxer has 836 Stars now!
This guy must have played 100 times since sunday. Some arena tickets can be won, every three hours there are free games, but the rest has to be paid.
The same question as in the old version: Who the f*ck spends so much gems to win 300 in the end?

There does appear to be some issues with the revised Arena. Love the format and unlike others I continue to be matched against fairly competitive opponents (haven’t lost a match in two days and have added 73 stars playing the bare minimum number of matches). I am, however, still unable to view my league standings and the Arena is atill locked at times. No response from Rovio support to my submission (it has just been 24 hours), but the sudden silence on this forum does I imply there may be a lot of ‘behind the scenes scrambling.’ Please provide an update. The ‘I told you so’ from @maiasatara is starting to ring in my ears.

@angrynerds2 the top 2 in my ladder now have over 1300 & 1600 respectively :) People are just grinding to get the most pearls or gems.

@abeggertoo have you tried changing from Wireless to 3G/4G? …I seem to get the same error occasionally on wireless, yet if I close the game, change to mobile broadband (3G/4G) and reload the game, the ladder usually reappears.

@hank seriously the missing spells is starting to tick everyone off in case this thread, and the 2 other threads ( https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/forums/topic/spells-received-via-bird-back-deducting-from-cache-bug-or-feature/ & https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/forums/topic/lost-and-found/ ) were not enough proof. Not to mention multiple FB posts, and support tickets.
Whilst I understand you must be busy as hell trying to fix/update/release etc, would be great if we could get some sort of update on the missing spell issues, and if we will get those spells back.

@maiasatara – enjoyed reading your post. I sympathise with your frustrations and while I no longer play the Arena myself, still perversely enjoy others comments, but they rarely mention penguins!

Everyone I face has the Azure Sling without having Cowboy Hats. After 6-days the most Black Pearls you could’ve earned is 570 after completing each DC and winning the Arena. I can’t find a single cheat on the net, so I don’t know how this is so common.

I’m in the Vanilla league and have had equal opponents. The main reason I lose is either micro pig or bad shot on my part. In regular play I had two chillies but did not select and during play I received one which I played. Now I only show one chili in my spells.

@hank did say it was vacation time so he may be taking one and that’s why the silence.

Overall good update.

I would also like to know how people cheat. It would suck the fun out of the game so no interest in using cheat, though.

Thanks @chucky-2, I tried changing my WiFi connection and then tethering to my cell phone’s 4G connection – all to no avail.

It will be interesting to see how the Arena challenge finishes for me this week. Will I best the best of nobody (300 gems and pearls) or the worst (perhaps a wooden spoon award). Given the experience of other players in the Arena, I am still matched against very comparable opponents. Playing for nothing would certainly be a complete waste of time.

This is a known issue that we’re working on solving right now. Sadly it isn’t something that we can easily change for the live game. Our lead programmer is on it and I’ll give you news when I have some to give. All I can say is that we’re really sorry this is happening and we’re working on fixing it as soon as possible.

I also have lost spells, so carefully saved for “an emergency”. It’s disappointing. Then today someone with 12’s and all the spells is sitting on the first level. It’s stupid to try to play against them, my 9’s and 10’s wont get thru and I don’t like feeling like cannon fodder. I’ll take my free ticket and wait.

Thank you ddeck for your note. I hope it can be fixed. I like to earn spells rather than purchasing them and to lose chilis, inflators and eagles is very disappointing.

@ddeck, perhaps you or @hank have knowledge on this. Starting early yesterday, I have been consistently outmatched by opponents with much higher star ratings, birds at much higher levels, and lots of spells, making it all but impossible to win a match. Since others do not seem to be having the same issue, I have a theory — I am 12-0-1 in the Arena (diamond league), and this week was way ahead again in first place. I don’t buy or use spells, and just depend on skill to win. I’m guessing by the sudden change in match-ups that an algorithm kicked in to make it virtually impossible for me to win so others can catch up and make it more competitive. I play every 3 hours during the day, and there have been way too many such mis-matches since yesterday morning for this to be coincidence. Can you comment on my theory?

As for today, I’m thinking that if a player hits some magic number of saved Arena Tickets that player will not win again until the number has been depleted to below the threshold. I won a 7th round to complete a street today then lost THREE IN A ROW IN ROUND 1. Wow. Twice to a 100% unreachable survivor and once to a 99% unreachable survivor that ate up 6 birds.

I’d love to start spreading a suggestion via private message (where Big Brother isn’t listening.) Anyone interested in hearing it, please friend me and send a DM. @sambeaver – I’m thinking our Star friend(s) are related to my thought. Sorry to be so vague (I ordinarily hate posts that hint at something but say nothing) but the last time we discussed Levels 9 and 13 gave really great gift chests they were ripped away from us. I never even discussed backing out to save an arena entry ticket and that was ripped away within one release!

Good luck in the remaining 3 days. I’ll need to catch up another 200 stars to even get ANY pearls and I’ve been playing OFTEN! Forget the unattainable first place. As for spells, I thought it was my imagination because I never have dozens at a time but yes, they disappear on me, too.

This one you might be able to get on a bounce without them, but I couldn’t get any to come near it.

You might be able to get Bomb close enough to pop the balloon; I can’t say whether a direct shot or angling it off the bottom trampoline would work better.

I hate the isolated pigs on tiny balloons for exactly this reason – if you’re not lucky enough to have the right birds, you’re screwed.

Yeah, the first one I posted could be gotten with bomb, the bottom pic, but the top pic I had bomb and his shockwave would not reach it.
