Strange things since the upgrade. I’ve hit a seven streak 3 times in a row with a spell or two for 5-7 as I’m out-birded by a significant amount (2 8’s, 4 7’s, one 6 vs 10’s and 9’s).
Our overseas friends may not be familiar with the story, so I will give the short version. It used to be the USA tax laws did not require social security numbers for kids. Then in the 80’s they did (for tax deduction purposes, more kids -> less taxes). So when the law was enacted, several million children ‘disappeared’ from the tax records.
This feels the same. I recall some stunning players that would show up with 5 spells – or without – and clean my clock by 2 million points per match. I have yet to lose by more than 500k points, and each match is rarely over 3M. Most are in the 2M range. I’m easily winning against players one level better than me in all birds.
And I have yet to see an opponent bring a single spell to a match.
And I have yet to see a single case of ‘punitive’ opponent selection if you lose and play too quickly.
So, where have all those expert players gone? now it’s not uncommon to 3-bird a room, as rooms are a LOT harder than before.
So far so good at least.
