Angry Birds Challenge
Welcome to the Angry Birds Challenge! Every day there will be a new level selected for you to play (get involved and let us know what levels you want to see as challenges here). Play for fun or use it as an excuse to improve your current score. A great goal is to try and beat the "Average" score below. Already done that? Then pork up and try to fling your way into the "Top 50"! Done that too?! Then take on the ultimate task and shoot for the "Highscore"! There is also a layer of competition here, as this page is connected to the leaderboard, so if you can improve your score you may also improve your rank. That said, don't enter lower scores here.

Therefore, it doesn't matter which version you play, as long as it beats the Highscore posted on the Challenge page. Score proof rules apply to both versions.

@xplodedsynapses A top-20 score even. Nice job! And I don’t mean that in a condescending way because my score is the one to beat today. On the contrary, I know how hard it is to get into the top-20 on ANY level!

Ahhhh… Halloween Season has begun! Angry Birds Halloween levels are my all time favorites. i wish they’d make more!!
@admins: Hi! Since March the clock for the daily challenge has been out by 1 hour here in the Philippines. The new challenge has started every day at 1000 hrs local time, even when the clock shows one hour to go, and each new challenge has been displaying 25 hours to go. This morning it’s back on track, changing at 1100. Have the clocks changed again in the US, or has time discrepancy been fixed?
Daylight savings time ended and clocks fell back an hour as of November 1st. Don’t worry, it’ll jump ahead an hour sometime in the spring. We like to keep our body clocks screwed up for no particular sane reason.
Is there a listing of all past challenge levels?

Hello guys. A disaster has happened. The daily challenge for today “piglantis 1-1” urged me to open this game.
It didn’t even open! Well, ok, I am playing these games on two Ipads. So, could open Piglantis1-1. What happened? Stars and Feathers are preserved. Scores are all 0.
So started randomly open some other Seasons games. Complete randomly scores are gone, stars are present.
I will try to restore my backup, hope it will resolve this issue.
But: case is that I cannot prove older – entered on the leaderboards – scores. What to do about this?

I just noticed on today’s challenge, the same thing has happened to me. I have no idea how to get them back!
@bernersenn, I think Seasons is having issues anyway. It crashes every time I try to open the new Pig Days level. I noticed there is a cloud on all the old games-Piglantis included. Aren’t games saved in the cloud? I want to open Piglantis, to check but now I’m afraid my scores will be gone too
@welshwitch55 the Pig Days level for today opens on my Ipad, the challenge (also seasons) isn’t. On the other Ipad it’s completely reversed. i can open the challenge, while loading of the Pig Days level crashes the game. Then there is that scoring issue
I’m on an iPad too. Definitely a bug somewhere in the Seasons game. Without opening Piglantis, it shows 90 of 90 stars so I’m hoping it’s okay. Maybe today they’ll fix the bug and your scores will be restored. I know how frustrating that is. I lost my scores once on the first Halloween episode. It was a long episode and some of the levels were hard to 3 star the first time, much less doing it all over again. I was not a happy camper! Now I do regular backups to try to prevent it. It’s not 100%. I really wish Rovio would hurry up and make all the games to sync across multiple devices.
I agree….I can’t play todays challenge. It won’t open on my tablet or phone. It would be very helpful if they would sync all games so you can play on multiple devices.
@welshwitch55 @sandersig on the Pig Days level that was released today you will find some information regarding crash issues, it might work for you. @bernersenn got his game working again using these steps. You can find the information HERE. Hope it works for you as well!

Why am I the only one questioning the top score on 1-11 todays challenge Ski and Squeal ?
It’s a couple thousand more than 2nd place, which isn’t overly suspicious to me, but perhaps they can give a strategy or a screen shot.
I was also wondering the same thing @kathy. I know the rule about posting strats only applies to puppy scores, but I always post whenever I get a top score, just to validate it as a courtesy to fellow fingers.
@welshwitch55 @peejaydee I know it’s only a couple k but the flinger only has 2 scores entered for this episode and is fairly new, plus no comment raises my suspicion.
Also as peejay noted while only required for a puppy, it’s customary on any level, especially a challenge to at least post which strat was used even if only ‘just like the video ‘
I’ve already flagged the score and mentioned admins in walkthrough so hopefully it will be cleared up one way or the other.

Lol, since I saw your comment I entered my score and it’s my only score for the episode. I’m sporadic at best when it comes to entering leader board or challenge scores.
I have been with The Nest for years and have never done the daily challenge. I have been totally focused on my goals.
I do not totally understanding how to join in. I have a few (OK, a lot) of questions.
* When does one enter scores on the challenge page or on the leaderboard?
* If I have just started, do I enter my scores as I improve on the daily challenge or leaderboard?
* Or do I only enter my final highest score on daily challenge before it ends?
* How do you track “improved” scores?
* Where do you start for the low score for improved scores? (Everyone is at zero start)
* I have had at least 10 or more different scores along the,way, which one counts for the low score for improved
I am trying to join in on the ski or squeal…… Xmas level.
* what is the timing for the levels as they open and th challenge?
* How does one earn a “puppy”, and what does a puppy mean?
I think that might be enough questions to get me going for now (I am sure I will have more).

I figured it out my self, that it does read from the leaderboards of today’s challenge. it is not hard once you just do it.. Still don’t know when the challenges ends? I figure it ends when the new one starts?

Oh, I forgot to ask… When should one enter the first score for the “most improved”?
I usually start a level on my own and not,look at the walk through or suggestions until I at least make 3 stars on my own. So I have used that score for my first entered score.
@diannas I think you figured right, the challenge ends when the new one starts, so the clock at the top refers to the end of the challenge as well. As for the “most improved” not sure but I think what you are doing right now is a good way to start the challenge and improve.
But of course the real prize is the puppy badge and that one is only earned by beating the existing top score before the challenge started.

Sorry I didn’t see your questions earlier @tmax, but I see you basically figured out most of the answers.
The most important thing to remember is to watch the countdown clock and to enter your score before the next challenge begins. That way, you won’t miss out on getting an Underdog award.
I sent @amslimfordy a message weeks ago and he hasn’t replied back to me yet. Does anyone know why or is he just inactive?

Hi @annach – same player has entered 7 other top scores in poached eggs, pig bang, cloud city and death star 2. Only registered yesterday and only entering top scores. No pics or strats, so does seem iffy.

Imo should be done a huge cleanup in leaderboards, especially for Poached Eggs, where most of the top 20 scores are ghost accounts. Obviously only if anyone from admins have a time.

I’m on to this problem, and we’re working as fast as we can to block this person from entering any leaderboard scores or posting any comments around the Nest.
So don’t worry, the “legit” underdogs will be awarded their puppies.

OK….@admins @sal9 @sweetp @amslimfordy or whoever does these things. This was a challenge level on November 21st 2015. Just 3 months ago. Can’t we come up with a different level???????????
Must be a mistake @stocktoad but probably too late to change. Pointless playing again so soon, so I’ll sit this one out and try and improve elsewhere!

Sorry @stocktoad, it’s my mistake. Juggling the challenge levels scheduling can get a bit confusing at times, especially when “life” throws curve balls and takes priority. :'(

Guess the clocks in the US have changed again! Thought I had another hour to go on today’s challenge but it ended “early” as the ABN countdown clock is an hour out now here. Starts the countdown at 1 day 1hour and ends with 1 hour to go. Not a big deal as I didn’t have a puppy score to enter lol :-)

Really upset at Rovio! I can’t play today’s challenge in Angry Birds Seasons because many of my older episodes have been locked out. It seems I have to pay to get them back. I’m about ready to dump their apps from my phone.
Seriously? I’m going to check mine. Why would they lock you out if you’ve already played them all? Did you ever delete the app or get a new phone and not transfer your scores?
A lot of the old episodes are now locked on new devices, for purchase with bird coins @hazeman @welshwitch55 . the ones you have played on that Devi e should show “stored ontl the cloud” requiring a quick download, I don’t think it really downloads because it takes two seconds not two minutes. All but the second and third ham dunk episodes should be “free” but you have to earn the bird coins. One for one star 2 for 2* 3 for 3*, total 6 per level, and you can triple your take when you get there stars by watching a 15-30 second video.
Thanks for the info @knichy. I checked my ABS and the earlier episodes, 2010-2013, were in the cloud, but quickly downloaded. Everything else is as it should be.
Hi @hazeman! If this sign ? is what you see over some episodes, it means that your internet connection is either off or not good enough for download from cloud.

@birdleader @sweetp – SW 6-18 also was on Challenge recently, 4 days ago. Something is not right. Now we have alternating SW level – Poached Eggs 1-5 – SW level – Poached Eggs 1-5. I would hate to see Poached Eggs 1-5 tomorrow again. Please fix it.

Hello Flingers: I am just past my one month anniversary as a member in this Angry Birds industry. Of course, I have been playing for a few months and decided to join after finding your sites. I do want you to know how much I enjoy what has been set up for AB gamers. ESPECIALLY IN THE WALKTHROUGH COMMENTS
Since the strategy I learned/used was from an older (2012) comment, I copied it here:

This can be 1-birded with another strategy: landing Chewie on far side of the steel block will sometimes force open the trapdoors under the first pile, and then he will continue on to the next pile above ground. Not very repeatable though.”
The really great thing, for me, about @f91jsw‘s strategy comment is that I went back to Death Star 2-11 and hit 84,310 on my first fling using it! That put me on your “Improved” list at #9 with 2 hours to go. Woohoo – on a list!!
Of note, Angry Birds Space and Star Wars are the only games I am, currently, serious about playing. Even though gaming is, overall, a solitary sport, when I’m trying to solve a level, reading through the comments on that site makes me feel like a groupie. Seeing the sportsmanship, humor, friendliness, and intellect that comes through is a rich experience for me.
@sweetp Since the last challenge featuring an ABO episode, playing for today’s challenge it seems that Rovio have introduced a new “eagle” pop-up to encourage the use of the “mighty scope” power-up. It comes up before EVERY turn on ALL episodes now, and it seems there is no way to get rid of it. Out of curiosity to see if watching the video would get rid of the pop-up, I tried it once, and indeed it forces play for 10 minutes using the power-up. (I didn’t play for the 10 minutes as I didn’t want to taint my high score with a power-up). After 10 minutes, the PU is automatically disabled, but the eagle pop-up is back. Not only is this extremely irritating, it seems to me that the leaderboards on all ABO episodes will be unreliable and spoiled in future by players using this feature without realising it counts as a PU. Doesn’t this make challenges for ABO a waste of time, as we are more likely to be competing agains tainted high scores? Just a thought.
@peejaydee27 Annoying as the popup is, it is still just an aiming aid not providing higher scores as such. Admittedly it will likely raise average scores but we probably don’t care about that too much.
Also I’m seeing the telltale lightning icon associated with it, though can’t say if it’s shown with highscore as I wouldn’t allow any PU highscore for myself.
Thanks @micromax. Like you, I wouldn’t use a PU so also don’t know if the lightening icon displays. But even though ithe mighty scope is just an aiming aid, it is still a PU – it’s also available in the PU menu bar at the top. My only concern was that other players might access it by watching the video, not realising it’s a PU.
Thanks to @sweetp for the solution. Using airplane mode stops the annoying pop-up! I didn’t think it helped at first, as I activated airplane mode whilst I was playing the game, and the pop-up kept appearing. Now I realise that you have to set airplane mode before launching the game. Voila! No annoying eagle. And….breathe…. Lol!
