Welcome to the Angry Birds Challenge! Every day there will be a new level selected for you to play (get involved and
let us know what levels you want to see as challenges here). Play for fun or use it as an excuse to improve your current score. A great goal is to try and beat the
"Average" score below. Already done that? Then pork up and try to fling your way into the
"Top 50"! Done that too?! Then take on the ultimate task and shoot for the
"Highscore"! There is also a layer of competition here, as this page
is connected to the leaderboard, so if you can improve your score you may also improve your rank. That said,
don't enter lower scores here.

Update for Angry Birds: As of 1-Apr-2023, top scores from either version of Angry Birds – Original or Rovio Classics (recently renamed to Red’s First Flight) – are eligible for an Underdog badge. Therefore, it doesn't matter which version you play, as long as it beats the Highscore posted on the Challenge page. Score proof rules apply to both versions.
Ho ho ho! A holiday badge to spread some holiday cheer. Available only during the Advent Challenge Days. To be eligible festive flingers must beat the Top Score on that day's Advent Challenge. To validate the score simply leave a screenshot from your 3-star tally page showing the score, along with a basic strategy on the walkthrough page! There will be only ONE HollyDog* awarded per player during the Advent Challenge, no matter how many times the top score is beaten (does not count towards Club Underdog).
* Note - Since many flingers already have a HollyDog badge, we are looking into changing the award system a bit. Please stay tuned, but keep on flinging!

Welcome!
The “Challenge” is just within the app you already play. We hand-pick one level each day for the community to focus on. So if you play on iPhone, you would see how well you can do on this specific level on your iPhone.

@birdleader, regarding the Challenge in general, it’s wonderful that so many flingers have embraced the idea, but I have a few questions about the whole process. We see a lot of wonderful improved scores, & on a regular basis we see very high or even new top scores posted. Some of these are obvious attempts at sabotage which you guys deal with most efficiently. But we also see members posting very high/top scores, & it’s the only score posted on their leaderboard, which is an immediate red flag to those of us who watch the boards. I’m sure most of these scores are legitimate, perhaps an occasional visitor who hasn’t bothered to fill their leaderboards, plays the Challenge, then posts that score. It gets flagged, you remove it (does the person get told when or why their score is removed?), they repost it a couple of hours later, & so it goes on.
When a new top score is posted on the Challenge do you follow up regarding a screenshot – I’m sorry for asking but I honestly don’t know how the process works. There is also a sad lack of comments on the walkthroughs regarding these very high or top scores. To be honest, I don’t always comment when I do well on a Challenge, but I try to chip in when I can. I know you can’t force people to comment, but it’s part of what makes ABN such a wonderful community, the sharing of ideas, strategies & the encouragement fellow flingers provide to one another.
I guess the point to my ramblings is that I wonder if it’s time for a few gentle reminders, regarding the posting of solo scores & the courtesy of adding comments to go with great scores, perhaps to the header on the Challenge page. I don’t know how often it gets read all the way through, but it couldn’t hurt. I sense a bit of frustration out there – I know I feel this way at times, & I expect people who have their legitimate scores removed feel this way as well.

When a user posts the Top Score on a challenge level that looks halfway legitimate, we do try to follow up with that user about it. In general, we would call a screenshot+strategy as confirmation of the score. That way, hopefully everyone can win.

Just to make sure my ramblings weren’t misunderstood, there was no criticism of the site or admins intended, you are all wonderful :)
I appreciate the challenge, because it gives an incentive to improve your score particularly on levels where you are below average, but even on those where you aren’t. However, it seems to me that some record of challenge results would be interesting to competitors. I don’t think that many people look at the challenge results the last minute, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. How about some permanent record? Could be the highest score achieved on the challenge, with rank corresponding to that score, and number of people getting above average and in top 50.
It was part of the original idea but there are quite a few parts of such a plan that are really close to impossible to overcome.
To my knowledge, this is a complete list of users who have taken control of the Top Score of a Challenge Level. If you are aware of any other users, please let me know so we can look into it.

Hey @crivit, thanks for the mention! I wasn’t aware that there was a list like this. I actually did achieve that score on the challenge day, which when I look back at the walkthru, was July 24th, and did finish first in the challenge.
what about me?, remember i took the challenge on october 5 (seasons, easter eggs 1-12) i gave the strategy, gave picture of proof, how come i don’t get the badge?
You had the highest “Improved” score, but you did not beat the existing Top Score.

I’ll be updating this list a little later — or removing it completely, as there’s a more organized one now in the header of the badges & rankings group.
I’d like to make a suggestion in regards to the power up score situation. Rovio makes money on power ups, and I believe every app will eventually include them. Although I haven’t used my freebies, I’m not going to remember weather I did or not when I update all my scores. It’s a chore to update all the scores, let alone the app not letting you know if you used power ups. So perhaps next to the score, there should be a check button if power ups are used (or four if you want to know which ones. I think the new features should be embraced, as new users will be unaware of this issue. It would be nice to be able to upload the scores via an app straight to the website.
1) We have suggested that Rovio create a distinction between scores with and sans Power Ups. We will have to wait and see what happens w.r.t. that issue.
2) The data files are encrypted, so we cannot include an automated uploaded.
@amslimfordy Do u think Rovio would ever consider an update for the die hard ppl that intend to never use Ppower ups ,,so we could opt to not have that button on the screen ,in doing so it would clear up any confusion with the validity of scores that will inevitably be questioned ,I would happily pay an initial $10 dollars for that ..Just a thought
@xebic88 I totally agree would gladly pay to not have that button in my way on bottom of screen and to know that scores are totally legit without powerups..unfortunately I think it’s out of slims control ..

@amslimfordy I realize there is the ability to switch the PU ,s off ,but what I meant is that it would be a preference to not have it there at all ,with no option ,like it was prior to there introduction ,my thinking being that then u would have that ability to differentiate between a scores that where done using PU,s ,..,.the thing is if u where to use a PU ,you can’t take it back ,and that would be stuck on your device .I know it’s very unlikely that this will become an option ,I suppose knowing I will never use them will have to suffice for now …perhaps an update that has 2scores in the right hand corner would be plausible down the road ..just thoughts ..Happy hunting to all
That’s the idea we pitched, though to save space, I think it would be:
1) If highscore obtained with PU, have a lightning bolt on/next to it and tap/click to toggle between highscore with/sans.
2) If highscore obtained sans PU, display normally.

Do you get anything for winning?
Depends on whether it is legitimate or not. But eternal glory sounds fair.
I just enter my score on leaderboard, i know my score is lower that avg., but why it will showing on this page Improved, this make me not follow what this said, don’t enter lower scores here.
What is meant by don’t enter lower scores is that the user should not enter a score lower than their own previous score on the level because it would drop them down on the leaderboards.
@Pjng — Also, there is now a badge awarded if you make the top score on a challenge day. I think some people enter a very slightly lower score and then re-enter their top score, just so they’ll be on the improved list. Would not be fair in the case of level top score.

@mvnla2, if a user already in top score before level begin (eg. 1-7), and next day challenge is level 1-7, that will not award badge?

As a new member, I am trying to familiarize myself with all the rules. If I have register my platform as PC, must all my scores come from this? I sometimes play on my Android also and wondered if I could also use those scores.

We try to discourage mixing-and-matching scores between devices as it makes it more difficult for you to detect errors during score entry, but it is also not outright forbidden.

No, Facebook is not permitted.
I may not be the best in scoring, because I am legally blind. But I take great pride in what I accomplish! Winning or losing is not my goal- pride in what accomplish IS :)

You must register to be able to enter your scores on the leader board.
@AMslimfordy ,Does ABN Community pick on all 4 Games(ABo,ABr,ABSp,ABS) everyday?
We only have 1 level per day, cycling between the four apps.
So,how do you know if that submitted score is FAKE or REAL?
Also,how to submit scores?
While we can’t police every single score (there’s over 1.5 Million), we have verified by screenshot the vast majority (if not all) Top Scores on this site.
You would have to register and create an account to use our Leaderboards.
If we type a fake score, has it ban or a same punish?
If you do it, it will obviously be a conscious effort and you will be banned.
Does submitting a score needs also a picture or not?

@amslimfordy @sal9 Good morning…… We had daylight saving last night and i was enjoying my extra hour in bed when i was woken up to the notification of our new premier players taking advantage of my ” bend it like Beckham ” shot promoting them selves up the premier ship of lvl 4-18 whilst demoting me down :-( But i must shout REF on the player “D” He well needs to be red carded to the sub bench haha

Sorry maybe i’m wrong but that would be Fry Me To The Moon 3-10 in the challenge title. There isn’t an 11th level on that episode(space egg level is S-7). Maybe @AMslimfordy can check.
Today’s Challenge is level S-7, the Space Egg level of Fry Me to the Moon. Officially, our leaderboard calls it level 11, though I agree this display should be corrected.

@sparty83 While I admit, I am usually in awe of Manu’s abilities. It is certainly possible and will carry more clout if one could top his scores. :D (That’s my form of motivational speaking.)
@sparty83 I came to posting at the nest late in the AB releases but have been playing since it came out. I used to come to the nest looking for help but didn’t actually join till I got a high score using a strat on here. Anyways, @eweber (Manu) set the bar pretty doggone high. I think slim says he has otherworldly not human skills and I tend to agree. I typically look to his scores as a personal benchmark on how I am doing, at least the levels he played in. Miss seeing him around.

Besides the normal leaderboard, no. And I wasn’t sure when I would get to it, so I didn’t want any late-comers.
@AMSlimfordy — Sorry to bother you, but have the first 10 or 15 scores on the leaderboard been confirmed as without power-ups? There are a lot of people whose names I don’t recognize, and some with today’s challenge being the only score less than 100 in the entire episode.
Some of those names are familiar to me. Oldies but goodies.
I think this might be something that has never come up before. It looks like @crivit has beaten his own top score. So……now do we need to beat the old score or the new score for the underdog? If it is the old score, I don’t know what it is.
@stocktoad I am not on the leaderboards for ABO. I just 3 starred those levels so I did get this score today. So I think you have to beat no. 2 now for the underdog.

The policy would be that you have to defeat the Top Score at time of launch. If the Top Scorer bests himself, he is still entitled to the badge. Any user who defeats the previous score would still be entitled to the badge as well.
That is, if the Top Score at time of launch was 100k and the Top Scorer manages 110k later in the day, 100k is still the threshold for Underdog.
Luckily, the system would allow us to figure out what the original score was, so no worries there.
Hmmm….giving us a re-designed level where it’s near impossible to better a previous decent score. Nice bump in the road guys! (;
I just started this. My previous score was something like 68k and now it’s 72k, but I just don’t get it how is it possible to get even near those highscores o.O
@waimea, I’ve still got the level that’s shown on the first video with the Snowball entry point and I can’t even approach my original score of 78755, much less surpass it. I can’t even begin to fathom how those scores above 80k were achieved.
It slipped through the cracks. Sorry @waimea @Lisko @AmanDeep. With nearly 2000 levels, it’s hard to keep track of everything.

For me the daily challenge is just a great way to increase my score, sometimes you hit the right spot and get a really nice score, sometimes you don’t :D
@amslimfordy , that’s understandable. I probably have more spare time than you do, so if you’re interested I’ll gladly vet the remainder of the AB Sp levels for future challenges.
Various updates have probably also set other old highscores in stone – or rendered them obsolete – but my experience and backups are limited to AB Sp. Some levels come to mind instantly, eg. 1-24 (can’t split BB early enough anymore) and 3-10 (fixed instability) but if I devote an evening to this, I’m sure I could flag several more.
If you get a volunteer per game, you’d have a nice spreadsheet by next week. Perhaps also flag levels where the current highscore is outrageous, jot down which levels you’ve already featured, and every morning during breakfast run the rest of the levels through a Rube Goldberg “ABN Daily Challenge Picker” machine.

Perhaps we could form some sort of cooperative of Nesters that could research levels that have changed since their debut. Perhaps a Forum thread to place these changes like the Self Destructive levels? Kind of like @burpie mentioned. Assign people different episodes, etc.
@rdnzlrips82, The main problem I see with this is that someone would have to have screen captures of all the levels when they first came out to compare with the current level. This level is an example of 3 versions, along with ABo, Poached Eggs 3-5 changed.
Also, aren’t there differences between platforms. I can’t remember off hand, but I sorta remember a few levels scattered here and there where the android version is very slightly different than iOS (I could be wrong)
@sparty83 The original screenshots already exist on site in the Episode walkthrouhs. Perhaps we could convince the Admins to tell us if they have been updated to reflect recent updates. Also, perhaps anyone that wants to help, could let us know here. And as soon as we have enough recruits, we could move to PM discussions and the Admins could delete the thread.
These are all ideas of course.

You guys do a great, and often thankless job of keeping all us bird-maniacs happy and challenged – especially in this time of PC update drought! Nice to see some new names up on the leaderboard too! Really, thanks for all you do.
I just automatically assume apologetic mode when a bump in the road comes up. I am just glad a silly little idea I had could be taken above and beyond my expectations.
I’ve got to say that today’s Challenge is possibly one of the hardest levels to get a high score on, it took me the better part of today to raise my old score by about 3k…At least I made it to the top 50. Happy Hunting Everyone!
Sorry, but for today’s challenge I truly did obtain that score without power-ups, it’s just that I didn’t know how to submit a picture of me clearing with that score. Please understand thanks.
I truly believe that the score is achievable. The only thing that makes it look suspicios is that it’s the only score on you’re leaderboards. It seems that you’re new in the Nest, but it would be better if you inserted the scores on your leaderboards so that there would be a score for every level in the episode.
There has been a lot on cheaters who have just added on top score and nothing else.

@lisko – I too am suspicious of the score for the same reasons as you state. I checked his/her profile and it states Android. The fact that this member is new to the site may mean that they have not played many AB games yet, but even so, they should have scores entered for levels 11-1 through to 11-6, as without these, level 11-7 wont open!
@Wendellism — You really need to follow the suggestions of Lisko and leggy and enter at least your scores for 11-1 to 11-6 in addition to 11-7. The admins (most likely AMSlimfordy, who said he would check later today) routinely delete high scores that are the only ones entered for an episode, let alone for any AB gaime.
@iBird — This advice holds for you also.
@Wendellism — I should mention that since if the score can be verified, you will be eligible for the Underdog badge, you need to comment on the walkthrough page saying what your strategy was. You will also have to figure out how to submit a screenshot. I think you play on Android, correct? I don’t know how do it on that device, but you could try Googling “Android screenshot” or looking in the forum on Path of the Jedi badge, where I think there is a lot of info on screenshots.
Depends on the device I think, but on the Nexus 7 to take a screenshot it’s the power button and down volume button simultaneously. Should be the same for other Androids as well.
Question @amslimfordy, Shouldn’t the Daily Challenge level be available on all platforms? Today’s challenge is a level that is not available on the PC platform yet. Makes me feel a little left out as I try to improve my own personal score even though I don’t personally post my score.
We set the Challenge level far in advance. Not all levels are available on all platforms. What about say Windows Phone — they don’t have a few apps, let alone all levels.
I was just wondering if there is a place where you can see how the previous challenges ended up? I found the list of the underdog badges, but it would be like to see how the improved list ended up. I’ve got no chance to check the list just before the challenge changes ’cause usually I’m asleep at that point :D
