The latest update to Angry Birds Epic (v1.2.9) has landed on iOS and Android via Google Play.
This update includes:
- New Set Item for Red: Primal Power which will be available as reward in the daily login calendar!
- New Daily Login Calendar: collect rewards every day of the month.
- Golden Pig Hunt: find the Golden Pig on the map for new bonus battles.
- Golden Pig Machine: price adjustment 5 rolls + 1 free for 15 coins, and 1 roll for 3 coins.
- New Daily Dungeon: “HARD MODE” bigger challenge, bigger rewards! Available when you’ve completed all daily dungeons in normal mode.
- No new Chronicle Caves, Potions or Achievements
- Bug fixes and balancing tweaks

@sal9 the set items are also available in GP machine it seems. Also you get instead of 1 roll for 20 coins, now 6 rolls for 15 coins. Other option still 1 roll for 5 coins.

Dungeons: you can choose normal or elite mode. 150 vs. 250 snouthlings as reward.
Hmmm i played a dungeon level, todays, and clicked elite. But i got annormal level with normal rewards (150 snouthlings). Not sure if its a bug or because i didnt played dungeons for a while and needed to play a normal one first.
You need to win in every dungeon on the map playing in normal mode first then the elite option is available.
I do not understand certain things :
-The new set is available in the GPM, but also in the calendar of reward ?
-The golden pig on the map replaces the daily golden pig ?
-Does this update solve the problems of the blocked achievements GC ?

I didn’t finish first this week, so I can’t tell you if the achievement “Top of the Flock” (finish first in any league) is fix or not.

The new golden pig appears every 24 hours in a normal level with the other pigs. It has the full pockets ability, like the wealthy rouge, it drops a snoutling after being attacked.
There is a reminder when it appears, but I you close it, you can still look for it and it laughs when on the screen to help you find it.

It is 24 hours after you beat the golden pig.
It has the full pockets ability, like the wealthy rouge, which makes it drop a snoutling after being attacked. When it is defeated, it gives you one lucky coin.
It’s attack is the feather (lowers the rage by 15%) attack from the old golden pig.
The pig laughs when it is on the screen, and is scared when you touch the level it is on.

Yeah, this new one just gives 1 Lucky Coin. Before, we can earn 28 LCs a week (35 if logged in Facebook), and now just 7 a week (27 if the 20 LCs in the Daily Reward is counted).
Crashes during the “Loading levels” phase. I really should know better than immediately installing an update from Rovio…
iPhone 4. iOS 7.1.2. Yes, I know, but it did install so it should work.
@bastet @admins — I am also having problems with Epic crashing since the update. I am on an iPad 2 with IOS 7 . I get a little further than bastet. The first time I loaded the game it got to the map and showed me a message about the GP and a screen for the daily reward. When I clicked the daily reward it crashed. Since then I have tried the following twice, with the same results:
Hard close all apps
Hard shutdown of device and restart.
When I load Epic, it gets to the map screen, shows the icons for nest and arena, freezes for a few seconds and then closes (black screen, sometimes followed by app selection screen, sometimes black screen is frozen.
I will report to Rovio, but major disappointment!

Restarting my phone made it run but it’s very unstable. Crashes appear random; at least I haven’t been able to detect a pattern yet.
@bastet I have this issue, too! I reported this to Rovio Support and hopefully they will be aware of this issue and fix it before August 1st.
Until it is fixed, Angry Birds Epic is in a mess. As the Mixels would have said it best, this update didn’t make a “mix”, IT MADE A “MURP”! LOL XD

I can actually play the game, but sometimes it crashes.
No bugs were actually fixed, only more were added.
I deleted my game and then downloaded it again, and after I logged in to my Rovio account, it didn’t crash anymore.
If the Golden Pig is no longer on a 24-hour timer, then it looks like this “fixes” the time zone exploit?
I still have a “55” on my stack of Golden Pig weekly cards, so perhaps the cloud pig still appears once daily? I’ll find out tomorrow!

The Mighty Eagle Stamp Cards and the Rainbow Riot were both moved into the daily rewards. They’re on days 4 and 8 of July’s rewards.

Hi, how do I obtain the new set items for Red? Will they be free? I just don’t know how.
They can be obtained from the Golden Pig Machine, like all other set items. But you can apparently get one of them from the daily rewards, as well.
Where did you see it could be one of the daily rewards?
what is the message with the gift from eagle that contain a 60 lucky coins & they make friend list only 3 panals ?
Here are some other minor changes I noticed on the Android version:
*You can longer craft potions 10 at a time.
*Glitch: Many of the bird classes ability icons have been swapped.
In the previous version, I noticed that when Princess Matilda’s Royal Aid ability cleanses Shamans’ healing-crippling negative effects, they will actually take effect before being cleansed. It significantly affects countering witch doctors and such.
So as the game updates, there will be some cons as well as pros.
Why does Rovio always “Forces” us to update their app? Example like “Epic” and “Fight”
Because different versions do not sync. FE you cant use items from players who have older versions of the game. + When there are bugs that give you more free stuff for example, you cant continue with that and need to update.

I see, but if Rovio just released a new update just a bug fix but no new items, It makes sense, because some of them uses custom APK for cheats and hacks

@joeyba Its actually worse than before, so many “failed login attempts”.
@sal9 — I have found so far that if you get a “failed login”, if you click the login icon, it does automatically log you in. Hope it continues.
In my opinion, this new “upgrade” is a joke on all of us. After so many months with no updates, we only get a new set item, and a poor reason to log in daily (and probably watch an add or two, along the way). No new levels, no fix to the major bugs, no new content. Finding the daily pig is especially lame. It looks like killed the game, but still want to earn some money from adds.
Worst update yet as far as I can tell, I can’t believe that all of my friends who actually responded to my requests are gone and I am left with 3 pages of non-players
Where did all my fb friends go? Was my access to fb friends cutting into their bottom line too much? I’m down to 3 pages of friends instead of 20.

Nope.. It shows a message “Unfortunately Angry Birds Epic has stopped working” Even I reinstall the game it shows the message again… *sigh now I can’t get the golden pig daily for now…

I’m on iPad, not Android, so can’t tell you what might work, but did you do all the equivalent steps to what I posted here:

Hideaki You will find a small golden pig on the level it is in. Really small sadly.
Maybw it isn’t showing because I already killed it today using the old cloud method…

These guys kill me. The resources bundles went from 600 silver to 40 gold. My friends list is now being moderated and I have a whopping 8 guys out of the former 30 that are the same level as me. The golden pig is almost lost in space and I have to fight him AND a level to get the rewards. If you watch really close, you can see the cheaper items slowly getting taken away. Remember when there was a level that gave 3 burning pumpkins? Remember when you could cash in weekly cards for stuff? Remember when hat upgrades came in only 3 levels and you knew exactly what price it was to get there? Remember when you actually stood a chance to get a legendary item from the golden pig machine? Remember when you would login and every day you had about 5 people who did free rolls on your pig machine? Anytime we start taking a solid lead and get a handle on things, they shake the whole game around and see what falls out.
Also just noticed that instead of a high chance roll for 20 gold, you get 5 regular rolls for 15. If they want to make a big game improvement the they need to put in another use for all of my extra resources. I have like 4000 flotsam boxes just sitting there.A
I just figured out why they changed what they did. Rovio is trying to counter people who have added friends through a spam list. You know, join a group and say “add me” and 2 days later you have 200 friends. They cut down the friends on your list, they cut down your friendship essence. Less friendship essence means less energy drinks and now we have no way to speed build them. That means events will be harder to compete in. They’re intentionally slowing down the high end players to make it easier for the low level players.

After downloading this update, the game crashes every time It starts booting up. Any ideas? I”m on an iPad 3.
Same here. Very disappointed as I have 100 gems. Can’t get in since the update.
Just notice apps size is bigger that before, 722MB, last ver around 500MB.

Yesterday i play golden pig 8am, today 8am no golden pig pop up, no more 24 hour?
Mine has loaded well, but begins to lag after some time! Moments ago I had to abort an arena match. I’m using Android 4.4.4.
So far, it looks like the Facebook not being logged in issue is still there.
The Piggy McCool free roll on the pig machine that disappears once you get to his page issue is still there.
And then there is the golden Pig. This and GO! were my nightly rituals before bed. Now, I have no more EPIC to play. I tried to kill the first golden pig, in the bamboo forrest, but forgot to de-power my birds. So we ended with a standoff that had no end. I could do no damage and the ninja pig couldn’t really do any damage and the level would have gone on forever. So I kicked out of the level and the pig was gone. It’s been more than 24 hours and still no replacement. So I have no idea how it works now, other than to log in, click the daily reward and log out. :(
Walkthroughts for all levels???
There is no walkthrougths for the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th cave except for the last two boss fights.
I tips inhe ultimate strategy guide in the fourms, but that is all for the last six caves.

I have been up and down my map and I only stumbled upon a golden pig once and that was 2 days ago I can’t find the damn thing any advice?
I have a problem with the arena.I can back out and adjust my lineup before entering combat,but i never once saw my opponent do that.Does that suggest i’m fighting system-generated opponents instead of actual players?

the worst thing is that on the daily dungeons you cannot re-roll the wheel for 1 essence like before and get 300 silver coins for sure, you can re-roll only with 3 essences each time !!! i guess it will be the same and with the events ! you will need 3 essences each time to re-roll the wheel for better score…. btw the new set for read is crap… why the hell would someone use this instead of the paladin or the previous reds set. Also something weird….on the golden pig when you click the new button which shows you all the weapon sets that you can get and you can try them out and see how high your damage will be or your health if you get them i noticed that they are weaker that the previous sets…for example i am level 45 and my red the dragon set and i got it while i was on level 45 so its full damage and health… when try the same set on the golden pig the damage and health is a bit lower…….. so i believe that they decreased the stats to balance the game for the new players…or i have no idea ……
leogr I just played a dungeon, there is no limit on re-rolls. Were you playing in “Elite Mode”?
