Correction: Our earlier article said that Jolly Jam was coming soon to iOS. That was a mistake. It is out now. Download it here for free.
Rovio recently posted this video to their YouTube page showing an upcoming game from their Rovio Stars publishing division. Jolly Jam is described as:
An all-new way to match! Draw a box around jellies jam ’em and help Prince Jam save Jelly Kingdom in this fresh and fruity puzzler from Rovio Stars!
Interestingly, the Jolly Jam Facebook page shows that it was a fully functioning app until October 2014, so it looks like this will not be a new game, but a way to bring a second life to a previously popular app.
The Facebook page notes that Jolly Jam will be available worldwide for iOS and Android on Thursday, February 19, 2015. The imagery shows some Chinese New Year-themed art, so it is possible that the game may launch with a holiday theme, as with the recent updates to Plunder Pirates and Angry Birds games: Stella, GO! and EPIC.
The game seems similar to Juice Cubes and Candy Crush, but boasts a new way to match. What do you think? Are you excited to play or do you have match game burnout? Have you played the previous version of Jolly Jam? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
Thanks to Nester @gx-d for the heads up!!
Its allready out on android :)
oh and also for iOS allready @dr-omega
Interesting. I tried last night on iTunes and it didn’t even find a listing..
Thanks for the info, @josm !
This game is nice and fun. I am not sure if they main target are six year old girls as sound effect coming from pineapple “WELL!” is so childish and all those colors are so little girlish, but otherwise with sounds turn off game is loveble.
It’s kind of fun. A short playthrough got me to level 30 without much trouble.
I think Rovio published the game to Android and Facebook, as the Facebook page only has a link to the iOS version.
Yes @habink – JJ was released on both ios and android (no word on a Facebook app yet)

Zipped through to level 45 when there’s wait or pay barrier. Easy to 3-star everything except the boss levels. A nice diversion.
I expect it will take 3×16 hours to open new levels if you don’t have any FB friends to help you or you don’t want to spend diamonds.
I also was able to get 3 stars scores on all levels except boss levels, I even didn’t get two stars on 30 and 40.
@cosmo2503: Yes, single stars for me too on those levels. I suspect that there’s some trick to it or one or more of the special things is needed.
It says “Not compabitle with this device” :(
I have tried to update my Samsung account and nothing. Help me :(
I don’t think there’s anything we can do to help. If it’s not compatible, then…
Looks a bit like Juice Cubes which was fun to play. Will have to give it a try in the near future because these games do provide a “change up” to the sling but just like the sling’s rubber band, it always pulls me back to it.
Played about 20 levels and by then I’d had enough, too easy and childish imo.
Shame it is not compatible with the Hudl
I’ve been playing Jolly Jam…went on an extended vacation…came back to see a message when I opened the game that it was being discontinued. Now I’m hearing that Original Stella is being discontinued? Is that true as well? I admit I quit playing Stella quite some time ago, but I liked Jolly Jam. May as well delete both off my devices as I can always use more memory.
It was so sad for me when this one got discontinued. Fortunately you can still download it from the Google Play Store!
