Aaaarrr matey! Prepare your cannons and watch your booty as Rovio Stars freemium real-time strategy game Plunder Pirates is now available for iOS (a full day early I might add). For those of you scoundrels in the USA that want to plunge your hook into it straight away you can download it now from the iTunes AppStore.
From game industry veterans Midoki and the rampant scallywags behind Angry Birds comes an addictive real-time strategy adventure like no other! Build a 3D island, recruit a pirate crew and set sail for uncharted waters.
The worldwide release comes on the heals of a large update (v1.3.0) that was available earlier today in the countries that participated in the soft launch. Plunder Pirates version 1.3.0 includes a number of additions that you won’t find mentioned in the US AppStore, including:
- Pirate Hall Upgrade — Take your Pirate Hall to the next level with the new Pirate Hall
- Extra Levels — With the new Pirate Hall come a whole raft of additional building upgrades
- New Skills — Keep training up your troops with more skills unlocked in the Academy
- Ground Pounder — The engineers have been busy and are proud to present a brand new heavy bombardment defense weapon
- PlunderCam — See your island from a whole new perspective using the all new PlunderCam™
- We Talk the Talk — Fully localized text for 11 different languages
- Exploration Map Makeover — With new island graphics it’s looking better than ever
I have been playing Plunder Pirates for about a week and as such I am still very green (i.e. I am a newbie), but I have recorded a couple videos that may be helpful to other newcomers. They are:

Played for about 15mins…
Didn’t like the ‘do this’, ‘do that’ pointy finger thing and I wasn’t expecting to have to build a village either.
Needless to say, not my thing at all. :(
This is great, gonna check it out in the App Store! (First comment.)
Rovio Stars?
Cool. I was impressed with the first 183 levels of Juice Cubes, so why the heck not?
It is just another Clash game like Castle Clash and Clash of Clans – I dont understand why Rovio would have their name “attached” to something that is clearly just a UI altered ripoff of a concept that took the world by storm a few years back
I don’t play this type of game and really don’t have the time to play even if I did, but it is soooo tempting.
Android version in the works

It’s a very weird game. Right off the bat, it puts you in the situation where you have to spend all your gems just to be able to do anything. Like Captain Tinto, battle 3. If you send 15 guys against that without a level 2 pirate hall, you’re gonna get smacked down :)
BL the videos are a great help to understand the game and try to get started. Downloaded the game and will give it a try. Looks like a fun game to play and build strategies.
@admins
Is this a double post?

@leggy Unless something’s been changed behind the scenes, the link you posted is for this page.
Has anyone gotten past the 24-hour Shield period? I’m curious how long it takes before some random person comes in and blows my island to fish food.
Thanks @leggy We fixed it.
Not long @kelani You’ll get squashed.
fun game indeed but weird also
I keep finding more amusing things about it.
-When you’re in the camera mode (tap your pirate hall, and Camera icon to see random closeups of your town in 3D), all the NPC ladies with polka-dotted bandanas strut around exactly like runway models.
-Frequently, you’ll see multiple NPCs walk into an outhouse…but only one comes out.
When will this be available for Android? This looks like fun. I’ve been playing a lot of Star Wars: Commanders lately, and I’ve really started to get into these kind of games. Mostly cus’ I get to raid other people’s bases. :P
@Xano2323 Either Rovio Stars or Midoki said in PC Gamer: “Plunder Pirates will be available for Android and Windows phone in 2015”
It is pretty fun. Lots of waiting around, though.
It is a perfect game and if you have patience there is no need to pay in order to become good. Excellent Rovio!!,
